Today's Tids Issue 4,970
Where is that Money Tree:
The way I see them each night, I would say that our local weather forecasters are just dying to tell us that we are going to have a heat wave. But so far this year, we haven’t come close, except in the minds of our intrepid meteorologists. I guess for some, having others feeling miserable with them is good for their souls.
I have an inferiority complex, but I’m not doing very well at it.
The Dems are going to follow up this recent marathon negotiation for the One Trill Infrastructure bill with a $3.5 trill doozy designed to inflict pain on the rich and the corporations, who are the driving force behind all s jobs in a non-socialist economy, So, let’s get this straight. The gov is sending “free” money to people to get them used to not working, and now will inflict penalties on those who work hard and succeed. We’d better get Repubs back in Congress while there is still a Republic left to succeed.
The Question:
Neme five Harry Chapin Songs.

Maybe in a month, about a week after Labor Day we’ll get a real feel for the way this incredible run-up stock market is going. Some days I have a distinct feeing that we are in “Too-good-to-be-true? land. And the good news keeps coming enough to temper the nagging question about possible sabotage to the core of growth. Like the potential for a Variant Pullback. Yes, perhaps we are overlooking real dangerous signs because we just don’t want ot let go of something good after year end a half of bad. I think we will know something in a month.
I don’t like Mike Richards as a replacement for Alex Trebek. But then, I have to admit, I was not big fan of Alex either. So, what do I know.
Isn’t love the most perfect state of being, Isn’t it a beautiful thing to awaken each day and know it is there.
People are saying they want more facts and less “what-If” s hysteria from health and CDC exerts.
Our hospital and health care workers are staring out blankly again, saying, “I thought it was over”.
I’m actually quite excited right now as I plot my upcoming Thursday evening and the return of the New England Patriots on TV. Everybody around here is anxious to see how the QB situation shapes up, and the redskin D is going to b a good test. OMG, did I say redskin.
Sorry, rest of the country about my provincial enthusiasm. I know many of you are NFL fans, and having your own palpitations too! Good luck! The race is on. OMG, did I say race.
Meanwhile, the once lofty red sox are sinking like the proverbial rock. O, the pangs of a sports fanatic.
The big 0-Bash on MV didn’t look tempered one bit.
I have no perplexing problems for today except trying to remember if it was Harry Chapin or Billy Joel who sang “Piano Man”.
The Answer:
I have always enjoyed Harry Chapin’s live performance of his rambling, “30,000 Pounds of Bananas>”. But most say his biggest hit was Cat’s in the Cradle. t erst are Dancing Boy, Flowers are Red, I Wanna Learn a Love Song, Mr. Tanner and Salt and Pepper.
But not Piano Man. It was a sad day when Harry died so young when his car was hit from behind by a tractor trailer on the Long Island Expressway. He was just 39.
I heard Piano man the other day and it sounded a lot like Harry Chapin. Always liked that tun, but it was Billy Joel. See if you can hear a little Chapin in there.
