Today's Tids Issue 5,052
Remembering:
The drone. At first a whisper, a hum off the ocean west. Then louder, louder, deafening. Like a swarm of marauding locus blackening the morning skies. The bombs, The strafing. The screams. The Horror. The sudden realization. The panic. The running. The running. The lone church bell ringing neath the tumultuous skies. It had been a quiet Sunday morning; suddenly peace in the world was gone. God bless the innocents. The soldiers and airmen and sailors of Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941. Lest we ever forget the evil suppressed.
Who will remember when those who lived through the terror of the ages are no longer here to say, “Never forget”?
The NE Patriots won a weird game last night, but during all of those Belichick years, the team always went beyond convention thinking to get the job of winning done. I laid back last night after the tension and wallowed in the warmth of hard-fought success. (Note: The price of getting the Tids is putting up with my Patriot rantings.)
I think the next big psychological trend in America will be the treatment of CEOC. Yes, Complex Entertainment Options Confusion is creating the greatest epidemic of mass anxiety in history. At the tip of this perplexing iceberg are streaming and pudding versus just tuning into regular old network programming, whether you’re watching o a 70-inch smart TV or a 4 by 6-inch phone. Or creating your own reality I the meta verse. How to get there from here has relatively intelligent people blankly into space. It is expected that most CEOC Treatment pioneers will be beween 7 ad 11 years old.
Thank God that Minnie Minoso was finally voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame
It looks like Wall Street has quickly gotten over their bout of Omicron Covid, which was in reality Mediacus Panicus syndrome.
Today is National Cotton Candy Day, just in case you feel like diving into something.
The Question:
The Pearl Harbor sneak attack was surely “a day in infamy. And even more so when you consider that Japan sedulously attacked 5 other countries. What were they?

You have to wonder who was the guy who while walking on a beach in the Middle East somewhere decided he could melt the samd and make gals? Probably the same l kid of person who was walking in a field and decided that burs from a burdock plant would make great zippers, buckles and buttons. Yup, a couple of people who can look beyond the obvious. It takes the kind of open-mindedness of a George de Mestral. And the guy who thought sand could possibly be glass.
Today Prez Biden will be talking to Putin about Ukraine and more. I hate to be cynical, but do you think Putin is worried.
We had great old friends over for dinner the other night and we talked about Bitcoin. Only great old friends would put up with that.
The Voice:
Last night were the semifinals for this season. I have to admit it was really hard to watch the singers and the Patriots running the ball . But I got enough of the songs to say I can see fairly assuredly a final four of GNT (Girl Named Tom), Wendy Moten, Paris Winningham and Joshua Vacanti. Based on last night, the fifth should be Jershika Maple. She was excellent. But Mia Hailey has a following and was pretty good last night. Tehe other possibility is that thee country voters will rise up and get behind Lana Scott. Personally, I don’t mind her, but she just isn’t as good a singer as the rest. The father Dad duo also seems to have a following but they we weren’t that outstanding. We’ll see tonight whether it is talent or public relations. GNT is the leader in the clubhouse.
Did you know that you ca buy a KFC spices and herbs Scented Log for your fire place. That would not be good for a diet environment.
I really get worried when the stock market surges beyond belief like it has for the past two days. I enjoy these times of momentary wealth, but it just seems too high. Buthe history is not quite as accurate as it has been before because there is just too much money floating around that wants to get out and play.
The Answer:
It appears the US government in 1941 was quite concerned through intel that Japan was planning to attack five or six countries and also parts of China. In addition to Pearl, Japan forces on the same day attacked The Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaya, Wake Island and Guam. And of course, the surprise, us.
God bless again the 2,400 dead and thousands wounded during the attack upon innocents this day, 80 years ago.
