Greatness.

Today's Tids Issue 5,390

It just feels right:

When listening to Beethoven's Ninth, or should I say, sitting there in awe of the genius, I always think of him standing in the rear of the concert hall at the premier. And as the crescendo reverberates away into stunning silence, I see the audience literally leaping to their feet, cheering, Ludwig. Ludwig. Ludwig. Ludwig... And the Master himself standing there perhaps sensing the vibrations of the applause in his deafened ears and smiling; a tear or two rolling down his cheeks. Feeling loved. In his silent world.

With all of the daily crappolla infecting sensibilit8ies, I believe that everybody just wants to feel loved.

Just because the daffodils are wearing fleece and the crocus have little scarves around their stems, it doesn’t mean we haven’t finally reached Spring. Happy Spring, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!

This morning news reported that there are140 banks ready to fail if half their depositors withdraw their money. Hmmm. Why is the media so intent on publishing hypotheticals that could only lead to self-fulfilling prophecies. Now everybody will be running to be sure they are thev half that gets their money out first. Instead of thinking, if we don’t withdraw money everything will be just dandy. It’s like they said if all the nuclear powers detonated half their weapons at once the earth would be uninhabitable. And somebody in NK might say, If I detonate mine first, I’d be ahead of the apocalypse. Why don’t journalists think anymore.

When hanging up your jacket in a restaurant, how do you put a flat brimmed baseball cap in your sleeve for safekeeping?

The Question:

What is the tallest mountain on our planet?

The Headlines:

--USB Bank Buys Credit Suisse for $3.2 Bil; Dow Surprisingly Strong Mid-Morning; Markets Trying to Sort Out Banking Crisis Effect on Global Economies.

--Xi Arrives in Moscow to Chat with Putin.

--Repub Leadership Urges Repubs not to Protest If Trump is Arrested.

--NK’s Kim Leads Nuclear Counterattack Simulation Drill.

--Miami Beach Imposes Spring Break Curfew after Separate Shootings Kill Two.

I think the Scott’s “What's the Big Deal” fertilizer commercial is very effective, and it is fun in this all too uptight world.

One of the real problems in our society is segmenting people into groups. Yet politically there are Repubs and Dems who see many sides of the Liberal/Conservative spectrum. Some people regardless of party affiliation are super conservative on some issues and super liberal on others. In other words, thinking with their own minds and heartsYet, the party leadership wants us to look askance at each other because of some labeling process. And we know for sure that everybody, whether or not they admit it, loves ice cream.

What do you become when you clean out a vacuum cleaner? A vacuum cleaner. Duh!

According to some international observers much smarter than I, China needs Russia to win in Ukraine. I wouldn't call that happy news.

If you ever feel the need to communicate with a fish, just drop a line.

The Mighty ACC has but one team remaining in the Sweet Sixteen and it isn’t even one of the bluebloods. It’s Miami. The SEC and the Big East conferences have 3 and the Big 12 has 2. Then it is 1 for the formerly mighty Big Ten. The Pack Twelve has UCLA, so at least nostalgia for that coast is intact. So, there are your so-called power conferences. Tre rest are perennial challenger Gonzaga, Number one in the final polls Houston, and surprisingly the historically methodical Princeton putting it together again. Florida Atlantic is in there as is San Digeo State.

Miami should be happy they made to the Sweet Sixteen so they can stay away from the home city where the mayor has instituted restrictions due to shootings at Spring Break events. Unless of course, the players have bought new guns. Many Miami businesspeople and city leaders are now saying, Spring Break spending is not worth the grief of out-of-control kids running wild.

If you are seeing things in Alaska, it is probably just an Aleutian

Oh yeah, on the women's side which is typically more predictable, we had the first lost by a number one seed before the Sweet Sixteen when Ole’ Miss beat perennial finalist Stanford.

Respighi really knew how to make hearts beat faster.

Former Cranston RI Mayor Steve Laffey is definitely running for President as a Repub in 2024. He says, if a no name like Buttigieg can get momentum why not me a guy who has financial acumen from a successful lifelong career and the courageous backbone we need in these tough times. He ascribes to the Kane 9-9-9 Tax program and a new way to fund and manage Social Security that will preserve its existence. Now a Colorado “Rancher”, he has already set up his political shop in New Hampshire. He says, if I get on the stage with Trump and DeSantis, they will definitely know I am there.

If Trump wasn't Trump, he would be a very good president.

Here’s some easy directions to Russia. Take a left at Alaska and keep Bering strait.

Thanks to the Tids Punster Laureate for messing up my melodic prose this morning with some terrible heartburn inducing Alaska Puns.

The Answer:

Mauna Loa on Hawaii Island from its base at the bottom of the sea is one mile taller than Mount Everest. And the atmosphere is certainly more conducive to hiking. Ok, so that was a trick Question. It’s only Monday Morning.

Seriously, though, if I break something in Anchorage Igloo it back together

Now that your mind may be thoroughly befuddled by bad humor, here is a nice little soft tune that will have you strolling lush green fields in rolling hills shrouded by windblown mist off crashing seas.
