Idol-Idol here, Idol-Idol there, everywhere an Idol-Idol.

Today's Tids Issue 3,374
Opening Stuff:

A progressive lackey journalist from McCLatchy Washington Bureau (Or, better -- Malarkey WB) issued an opinion column in the guise of news that said America is in good hands today for the next century as it becomes more tolerant and casts aside “some of the mores and traditions that dominated American life for centuries.”  This from a representative of Progressive America, progressive America which just happens to be the least  tolerant segment of America, refusing to acknowledge anybody that isn’t exactly like them. Women aren’t considered women unless they are progressive. Blacks aren’t considered Black unless they are them. These are the kind of columns that rattle the aging bones of many who know that the mores and traditions of responsibility, character, consideration of others, hard work, feeling guilt, honesty and respect are part of the fabric that Made America a place of want for all potential immigrants, for all, no matter their color or personal inclinations. Bones are rattling so vigorously that I’m hearing the call from some formerly docile souls who want to rise up and stand tall on replacement knees and ankles and hips in the face of progressive cronyism, and the misinformation from a misguided press. “When in the course of human events it becomes necessary to desolve…”.

I stood yesterday among hundreds -- Maybe near a thousand of just regular old Americans, kids and grand parents and everything Inbetween, all walks of life and persuasions, “millenniums” and what ever you call those who came before “Boomers”. We were all there to listen to the reading of the Declaration of Independence, read from the same spot as it had been in 1776, by a man in the colonial military garb of the Artillery unit down the street that was founded 35 years before that heroic date in history. People stood still and listened to every word. They cheered a couple of times. And when the final word was uttered triumphantly, the people stood even taller, shouting gleefully, “Hip, Hip Hooray”. Then I watched them leave the green and leafy park, walking a little more briskly, proudly, parents holding kids hands. Kids looking up thinking, hey there must be something to that Declaration of Independence.
.
Novelists have it easy these days when researching character development. All you have to do is walk into any kind of store and follow someone talking loudly on a cel phone.

People try too hard to stand out, when all they have to do is be themselves. It’s much more efficient.

Yesterday the US turned the tables on ISIS. After hearing of threats to USA 4th of July Celebrations, we launched an air attack on Raqqa, the capitol of the so-called ISIS State. Tis is one of the better pieces of proactive military action I’ve heard of ina long while.

I was thinking as I observe the public cost of building passageways for bicycles:  Are the hydrocarbons saved by riding bikes over using cars enough to offset the hydrocarbons necessary to produce bicycle helmets?

A news report on the famed French General who along with Rochambeau aided the fledgling America in its battle against the Red Coats, said that later in his life he returned to NYC where he was treated like a “Rock Star”. Why can’t these new journalists say, Treated like a War hero.” Are recording artists the only paragons we have left?

From where I’m sitting atop the ivory towers of Tids enterprises, I’m seeing a population worshipping movies like people of the past worshipped God. The Ten Commandments was a far better message for all, regardless if whether you give God a thumbs up or Thumbs down.

A local columnist says that “Magic Mike XXL is not quite the cinematic end of American culture, but you can see it off in the distance if you look hard enough”.

I really like Jill Ellis, the coach of the USA Women’s Soccer Team!

I basically like European cars best. Does that make me a Millennial?

The KIA and Hyundai would be great looking cars if the design didn’t have to conflict with the KIA and Hyundai Logo. Ditto that for Buick and Chevy. Does that make me a design snob? Or, just superficial?

I think the most misunderstood sentence in the Declaration of Independence is “The pursuit of happiness”. I think Hollywood and Las Vegas take it to mean they can do anything they want. And the people use it to help them dismiss responsibility and consideration.

I promise never to write a movie where the characters trying to appear intelligent and hip talk about “Casablanca”, and revel in the sounds of “As time Goes By”.

There is a little new evidence, and it is growing, that more USA people are agreeing that “States Rights” got screwed and was the real victim in the latest SC ruling. The problem with SR being victimized in the latest ruling is that it sets a precedent for more of it in the future, more handcuffing of the last bulwark against a totally encroaching central government – farther and farther away from the people.

I enjoyed standing amidst the 4th of J crowd yesterday picking out feminists. You can tell them. They have a little confident smile on their lips that seems to say,” after November 2016, this will all be ours.”

Larry Doby, began playing for the Cleveland Indians 68 years ago yesterday. He was the second Balck man in MLB, coming about 4 months after the more celebrated Jackie Robinson. The hall of famer player 13 years, hit an average of 283, had 256 home runs was a marvelous fielder and a good guy. JR, also a good guy who’s base running pumped the hearts of Dodger fans and exhilarated baseball fans, batted 311 over 9 seasons and had 135 home runs. There is an important message here as opined years ago in the NY Times. “In glorifying those who are first, the second is often forgotten.. Larry integrated all of those American League parks where Jackie Robinson never appeared. And, he did it with class and clout.”

I think we are still absorbed too much with “First” rather than capability.

The Parking Lot. Chapter 2 continues…
She squinted a bit as the mid-morning sun popped from behind a tree up the road. Maybe that’s all I really saw.
She bent forward. I raised the pic as if giving it to her. Hew hand opened and she took it, which could ne=mean two things; She was seriously trying to help me. Or, she knew who it was and was trying to come up with an excuse to disguise her knowledge.
“I’m pretty sure she has been here several times, or else I wouldn’t be bothering you. “ That did seem to bother her, which is what I wanted.
“You know,’ she said slowly, thoughtfully, “she has one of those faces that looks like a lot of faces that have passed through these tables.” Then quickly changing the subject, “Who drew this? It’s not that good.” I reddened. It probably contrasted nicely next to my graying hair. She smiled noticing my give-away.
“Have you seen a lot of police sketches in your life?”
“No, sorry about the sketch remark.” She paused, “I could say I’ve seen people like this, but not this person.”
    “Do you work here regularly?”
“Enjoy your coffee. I have to get an order.” And sure enough, there was a ring from the counter area. She turned and smiled one more time just before she was absorbed into the inside blackness..
I bit into that warm gooey  pastry, and forgot in its deliciousness why I was here. But, I knew I would be here more often, and not just for the pastry.

The Answer:

Red is Courage; White is Purity; Blue is Hope

Today's Tids Issue 3,373
Opening Stuff:

The Red is that of heroes blood, spilled for freedom grand.
The White is snow covered fields testing the Pilgrim’s heart.
The blue is in the skies that brighten, caress a bountiful land.
Red, White, Blue and the people too, who set America apart.
Isn’t America bigger than lonely cries that sully the soil?
Doesn’t the star spangled flag stand for all and not just a few
Why do we forget the values of many when single angers roil?
If we stop to look inside America’s heart, there is an evident truth,
People neath these blue skies care; no matter skin color or hue.
Wrap us all together in a glorious banner of Red, White and Blue.
We are not segments, we are American’s all, through and through!

In this past week, over 4,000 people from around world saw the dream for which they have been waiting come true. Hey were made citizens of the USA.

On a sadder note, a new poll says that 55% of the so-called millennials generation would consider moving to live outside of America. Has this great nation been so muddied, so misconstrued by a few with pens and misguided agendas, that the majority of an entire generation are failing to see what is great. Is that tears I see flowing down cheeks at Mount Rushmore.

You may have wondered about the title of yesterday’s Tids, “Where is Hopalong Cassidy when we need him”. I feel that the USA these days is like that runaway stage coach of western movie days when it appears there is no way to stop the rogue driver. And then on the dusty trail behind our hero Hopalong on his mighty white steed gallops up – closer, closer, closer. Hoppy leaps and barely grabs the coach hand railing, but that old Cassidy determination has him with furrowed brow inching upward until he can throw a leg over the top of the coach. The driver’s eyes widen, and he turns to see Hoppy coming at him. But too late, as Hopalong delivers three crunching blows and the driver falls to the coach taking the reins with him. Now the Coach is lurching uncontrolled towards a ravine. Quick thinking, our hero now drops to the back of the closest horse and then painstakingly moves forward, overcoming several hair-raising slips until he is atop the lead horse, where he is able to bring the marauding coach to a halt…mere feet from the cliff. Does this sound like America today? Do we have a Repub candidate like Hoppy?

The Question:
Name the 13 Original colonies. That should be easy, right? Bonus: Name three Atlantic Coast Indian Nations when the first settlers arrived.

According to CNN, 57% of Americans see nothing wrong with the rebel flag. This is just the latest example of a media coerced nation where the noise is greater than the truth. It’s happening much too often.

In case you are interested, 153 years ago today, that Rebel flag fell at Gettysburg, and the North stopped the threat.

Don’t you think it is time for the Congress to pass an “Un-Holiday” for all of those who live in tourist communities.

Uh-Oh, here we go again. Using the latest SC judgment, a polygamous trio in Montana has applied for a wedding license. And that is the latest in what could easily be a new wave of diluting the meaning of marriage.

As times moves along and people pass silently from our stage, essential or meaningful careers always come to an end. One I have in mind is Nazi hunters. When they all die, what do you do. Yet the hatred is always there, gnawing.

I love the guacamole peas controversy. Now, I wouldn’t eat either peas or Guac, as mushy light green and I just don’t see eye to eye. But, this is like manna from heaven for this Tids food editor. How often have we railed here about people who’s living demands changing things for change sake, and in particular one of the biggest culprits -- chefs. They go overboard when they contaminate perfectly good food with trendifications. Meat, Potatoes and gravy guys never loose. Unless of course they spell potatoes wrong.

Speaking of speaking out, there is a lot of angst from people (Some perhaps because they don’t want to deal with the truth) over the Bishop Tobin of Providence speaking out about the Same Sex marriage decision. “He can’t do that,” they yell at the top of their lungs. But, the answer is simple – Of Course he can! That is exactly what he is supposed to do. He is the leader of the Catholic Church here and he is expounding upon a truth the church, and a lot o people in it, hold dear from the biblical teachings. Many people feel that the Catholic Church in their attempt to be loved and “fit in” with changing mores, have liberalized policies that were originally meant to have people strive harder to be good and fair and loving and honest, to adhere to stricter guidelines and high bars. Bending the rules does not a great society make. So, Tobin should speak out, and those that don’t agree can disagree. Maybe it’s because they fear the truth.

Which reminds me of the TV premiere I saw last night, Astronaut’s Wives. This one has a touch of liberal propaganda in it. Most liberals don’t like the idea of a something called the happy 50’s. I remember a woman from California who had moved east and worked for me, once in a fit of anger said, “You grew up in a time warp”. Well the film spent some time trying to cast a shadow over the era of the early 60’s by conveying an idea that everything wasn’t at all perfect. This appears to be a true story about the early Astronaut days as shown through the eyes of the wives. We’ll see.

Whatever happened to Julian Assange?

The negative media assault on Trump is building a stronger base for him among all of those who are tired of media bias. And that is a lot of people.

Freedom has never meant that everybody can have everything.

The Parking Lot. Chapter 2 continues…
Te aroma of freshly ground coffee coupled with the magnificent sea air was worth the trip up even if I didn’t learn a thing about my woman. A cheery, forty something waitress materialized at my table just as I sat and reached for a napkin to wipe away a few crumbs. “Oh, let me get a sponge.” She said immediately and sped off. I always wonder about what is contained in community sponges at restaurants like these.
She was back in a flash, with a clean looking purple sponge and a paper towel. She asked as she started to scrub, “You from around here,” knowing I wasn’t. I expect she knew everybody in town.
“Nope,” I said with an equally smiley face, “I’m far away across the Bridge.”
“Oh, a Foreigner. I’d better be on guard.” That‘s a local joke, but it also made think twice about snooping around here. I smiled at her knowingly. Understanding sarcasm around thos watery part of New England goes a long way to building better relationships.
“I’ll behave,” I answered. She smiled back. “I’ll have a small black coffee, from those beans that smell so good, and that pastry that is stuffed with dark chocolate.
“You are a very smart man,” she said turning and scurrying off. I fingered the sketch in the folder on my lap.
When she returned I had the folder open in front of me with the sketch on top face down. “I warmed the pastry so the chocolate would be nice an gooey inside”. I felt my saliva oozing inside my mouth. It almost hurt
“I love warm and gooey,” and then I picked up the picture. I wonder if you could help me out of a small dilemma. I turned over the picture and watched her eyes. They moved to the right, quickly and then back. The smiled faded slightly.

I say beware of Pay By the Mile car tax programs. It will be a great resource for divorce lawyers.

The Answer:
The 13 were Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Bonus: The major tribes were Wampanoags and Pakanokets around the Plymouth Colony. There were the Naragansetts, Pequots, Nipmucs, Iraquois, Algonquins, Yaocamico, Rappahannock, Pohatan, Lanpe and Piscataway.

I thought this would be a nice short 4th of July gift. But when I think of the USA, I just keep on rambling. Let’s keep it great, and show those millennials!

Where’s Hopalong Cassidy when we need him?

Today's Tids Issue 3,372
Opening Stuff:

America continues its journey into the Asylum as the term “Micro-aggression” becomes popular on Campuses. Micro-aggression is applied to the use of familiar statements like “America is the land of opportunity” and “Everybody can succeed in this society of they work hard”. Or, “The most qualified person should get the job”. Psychologists say it is insulting to people who “Don’t understand what they mean.” You think maybe they’re teaching the wrong thing in some schools. These statements were first defined at Columbia U and furthered as contemptible at the UCal. Where else? God help us.

The Jennifer Garner/Ben Afleck split just shows you that a sensible West Virginia realist can’t get along with a Boston liberal.

Repub candidate Opinion Update, Department:
I’d like to see Ben Carson make a little more noise in the New Hampshire polls. He could easily be one of the best of all candidates – smart, sensible and easily appealing ot a broad range of people, though perhaps a little too Micro-aggressive! (That means he tells the truth so sorely needed in the USA). I would vote for him. Second looks at Marco Rubio has me thinking he is looking a little too young, and more importantly, humorless -- especially when replying to tougher questions.. I would also like to see Carly get some traction, as she appeals to my sense of reality. She and Ben seem to get buried in the excitement surrounding the announcements of more gregarious characters like Donald and Christie. And wow, did Trump build an Army fast. (His Mexico comments were basically stupid). Jebster continues to the right things, in a well orchestrated march to the nomination. In the polls for Iowa, Quinnipiac has it Walker 18, Carson 10, Trump 10, Paul 9, Cruz 9, Bush 8, Rubio 7and the rest 5 or below. For the overall nomination, CNN has it Bush, Trump, Carson, Huck, Paul.

I am totally not surprised by the uprisings and new aggression from Muslim Brotherhood sympathizers in Egypt. It was just a matter of time before the Egyptian Military’s war against former President Morsi was avenged. Why does the media and often the White House always act so surprised at these incidents. This is the Middle East for crissakes. It is not logical but entirely predictable.

The Question:
Quick now, who was the man who flew with Amelia Earhart on her last flight lost somewhere in the Pacific, probably near Hwland Island? Bonus: Name the top shows from the pen of writer, director, comedian Larry David?

Hillary in her explanation of personal emails said there was “No Classified material”. Yesterday the State Department withheld some of Hillary’s emails based on their containing “Classified material”. That ole’s rascal wouldn’t be trying to fool us again, would she?

What is so hard to understand about having to cut back on spending when there is no money to pay for it? Greeks would consider that statement, “Micro-aggression”!

Ok, the mass murders that Charleston church was horrific, inhuman, beyond belief for sane civilized people. But, now 0-Man has quickly authorized a $29 Million payout to victims. I had never realized that US citizens had such great Government sponsored life insurance. I’d better check my Citizenship Policy.

It’s sounds kind of humorous to read that Macy’s is going to stop yelling Donald trump’s underwear. Hasn’t he been washing it before sending it over? I wonder if it is suitable for framing.

I get the feeling that there will be a lot of Rebel flags flying at the Daytona races this weekend.

I’m glad ISIS wasn’t around when I was growing up. I could have been executed for not eating my peas. And, you wouldn’t have the Tids. Peas have played a big role in the development of my life.

Political Madness, Department:
Ok, the Kurds seem to this humble observer from afar as the most effective military operation against ISIS. Yet, the US won’t send weapons they need directly to them, and have asked Arab nations to avoid doing the same. In typical inefficient government fashion, the US Admin wants the weapons to go to through Baghdad for redistribution to the Kurds. Insane.

A Wall Street guru is predicting “5 Forever Investments”. The use of the word “Forever” already makes the analysis suspect before reading it. Forever” is a long time! Every day somebody creates a new category of stocks to watch and buy, which is often meaningless. The five “Forever” stocks are good dividend stocks – HCP Inc, Williams Partners (Energy), Unilever, Agrium and Consolidated Edison, just in  case you are interested. Maybe he should call them “In my lifetime stocks”.

The Parking Lot. Chapter Two.
It’s been about a week now, and I felt good enough to drive up to Tiverton. I waited til my wife left for one of her daily routines, then I snuck down into the garage, got my car and was on my way to an adventure. I was feeling good about having a mission with more consequences than learning about 40’s movie stars in a local lecture series. My pain had subsided nicely, and I thought I was going to make it through the day. I had spent the week recuperating, but not idle. There was a time when I was pretty good ant drawing people, so I managed to recreate a sketch of what I remembered about the face of the nervous woman. It could be helpful as I began my quest.
The island looked as pretty as ever as I neared the northern tip, ready to catapult across the bridge to a land where some locals had never ventured – off island!
The Historic Tiverton was a mixed bag of a town, from Fall River fringe neighborhoods to country eloquent. The downtown on the northern end of the Sakonnet River, which has always looked like a large Bay to me, was a pleasant little space that seemed lost in the past. The kind of town I like. Some of the families here, and I’ve done some business with them, go back to the early settlers who came over from Plymouth. This part of RI was actually considered part of the Plymouth colony. I always thought that the walk between Plymouth and here seemed pretty long for me, but would work well today to beef up my Fit bracelet.
The little coffee shop was on the waters side of the short, pretty much non descript main drag. There were several marine businesses, a bank and a convenience store, all on a high bluff above marinas and moorings. The “Coffee Jolt” was a nice looking place with some tables out front just a couple of feet from the curbless street. I squeezed into a small a parking space, turned off the engine and opened the folder next to me, pulling out the sketch. Are you still alive? I felt my body tense.

The Answer:
It was Fred J. Noonan riding along side friend Amelia Earhardt when her plane fell out of the sky, never to be found. Bonus: Larry David made it really big, as you probably know, with Seinfeld. He used that popularity to write the irreverent show starring him, Curb Your Enthusiasm”. He started his career as a stand-up and then as a writer for  a program “Friday’s”, which starred Michael Richards. From there he hooked up with  SNL where he played roles and wrote. There he only had one sketch that made it to Prime time. But there he also met key character #2 for his big one – Julia Louis-Dreyfus. He also wrote a movie that went nowhere -- Sour Grapes. A British list of the world’s greatest comedians has him ranked 23.

The tourists are upon us and there is no escape. It’s hermit time.

No downers.

Today's Tids Issue 3,371
Opening Stuff:

Boom! Bang! Crackle! You probably think that this is the intro to my welcome July Tidlet. But, nooo, that’s the lightening outside followed in a nanosecond by a hair-raising, jump out of seat B-a-n-g!! And I’m under my table writing this. Normally it would have been a July opener if it wasn’t for this morning’s reality. The good news so far is that the lights and computer stayed on. So, onto July, where thoughts of patriotism always come first. I think of Paul Revere rides and farmers shooting from behind stone walls. I think of a besieged colony rising up to claim independence from a King…and vowing never to have power in a single person hands again; a nation where citizens come first and government a distant second. I think of hot dogs and hamburgers, and apple pie with no kale, peas puree or lemon straw. So strike up the band, Ta-ta. Send fireworks into the sky and light up all that’s great about what American has been for 239 years since 1776. Yes, July starts off with enthusiasm and ends with a drag, hoping that the heat will soon leave. Yes, July is quite the month.

I was thinking yesterday, why I should get my underwear all tied in knots, bellowing out acidic remarks, foisting my anger on good people who have taken the time to read this mess. There are people everywhere from time to time who are out there going through some level of human agony, and the last thing they need is bile from frustrated soul in a changing (Many would say deteriorating) society. After all, this column is all about love, and it is really off the track when it sounds like hate. Yes the Tids is about blue birds, and rainbows, and green frogs catching bugs on their tongues. It’s about lovers holding hands and looking into dreamy eyes. It’s about being positive and standing up for friends. IT about helping people feel great when things are low.

But that doesn’t make me any happier about, or feeling kinder to people who litter. Creeps.

The Question:
What was Leslie Caron’s first big movie role?

I see where “Activists” across the US of A are planning to burn the American flag on the Fourth. Great, just great. The media won’t care as long as the professional protestors are burning it for a cause the close to the hearts of journalists. It really is just a frustrating environment these days. People ache and nobody hears. I guess that’s how a country runs when a community organizer is in charge.

Mr. Paranoid department:
I watched “Zoo” last night and it is about what I expected – pretty good tension and well orchestrated violence…and probably another subtle pro-Hillary campaign effort from her pals in H-Wood. So far it make the rich look small and business appear evil, and of course animals smarter than humans. There’s going to be a lot of preaching in this one, and I’m sure we will eventually get to Climate Change. But, I am hooked and I thought the first show moved with the speed of lightening. I’ll have to take a few Tums and bear the political overtones to enjoy the mystery. I didn’t see how this story can last for a full, ongoing series. Oh, I forgot, it only has to last until the election if 2016.

Speaking of animals taking over, how about those deer up in Eire Pa who tied to take over a race track from horses. It must be global warming.

I’ve got to get some new pics up on the worldview: etc blog. Stay tuned.

“Mary Pat” Christie. She sounds Irish.

Yesterday I was watching on BBC there commentator in Greece discuss the problem, and at times it appeared he was trying to reach for a justification of the position of a Government and populace who asked for more than their economy could furnish. But as he tried to blame it on the Greedy world bankers, it became apparent that he couldn’t and reluctantly agreed that they brought it all upon themselves. Some day wells run dry. It’s just that simple.

Just in case you’re out traveling away from your favorite home station, here’s a list of the Top Fifty “Local” talk show hosts which is topped by John & Ken – LA, Curtis & Kuby – NYC, Howie Carr – Boston, Steve Cochran – Chi, Bill Carroll – LA, Brian Wilson and Larry O’Conner – Washington, Brian Susman – San Fran, Jeffery Kuhner – Boston, Row Conn – Chi, and number Ten, Chris Palante – DC. My state RI has two – Dan York (27) and John DePetro (40). Check out the top fifty http://www.newsmax.com/TheWire/influential-talk-radio-hosts-shows/2015/06/30/id/652849/?ns_mail_uid=40272766&ns_mail_job=1626229_07012015&s=al&dkt_nbr=yyg5lkuh

I have never enjoyed Curtis (“Guardian Angels” Sliwa) and Kuby, but Howie Carr has been a favorite since the late Seventies.

Economic Danger Signs, Department:
A well known market viewer, Bill Gross, warns of a potential run on US “Shadow Banks”. Unlike regular banks, these big money “Modern” banking institutions like hedge Funds, Mutual Funds and EFT’s are not required to maintain reserves or even emergency levels of cash. They’re a little like the Greece of Wall Street. When it goes to hell there, it really goes to hell. And the little guy gets creamed…again.

Want to get away from all of the back clouds, go to a summer camp. There are about 800 camps for Adults and they include pot smoking at the MaryJane Group CannaCamp; Camp ThrowBack where you can do all of those kids things again, and drink while you’re doing it; In the Pine Barrens of NJ you can go to Zombie Survival Camp and learn primitive basics to beat disasters; The Woods in Leighton Pa, is the only gay and lesbian camp and offers in addition to the usual camp stuff, Motorcycle  Leather and Cowboys versus Indians weekends; For musicians there’s Rock and Roll fantasy camp; Intellectually curious can enjoy Archeology and Basketry camp; And people who are tired of fashion trends “In the Raw” Camp. In other words, somebody has probably conceived of something for just about everybody.

The Parking Lot. Chapter one continues.
It wasn’t just the pain that had me focused on this parking lot caper. It’s a feeling I had that became apparent to me as I watched the interaction between the two. It will be good I told myself. An older person needs more to do than taking maps, and solving a mystery is better than going to a lecture on Chinese chest enameling.
I moved and the pain returned as usual. Why do I thin it will just go away if I sit a little longer. I took breath and stood. Below me now were the contents of her handbag. There was a tin of Altoids which could come in handy, the back of a cell phone, tissues, a couple, of credit card receipts, a small flashlight, a couple of hard candies, lip stick and a small compact. There were cosmetic appearing items of which I have no idea what they may have been for. My loot. The key to my case. I should be turning it over to the police, but they didn’t seem interested. So they’re mine and I’ll never tell. My wife will probably tell me to move the mess.
I picked up the credit card slips and went back to my chair, and enjoyed the sensation of getting off my feet. I looked at them and saw that she was M. J. Bancroft. Well Miss, or is it Mrs., Bancroft, let’s see where you have been. The first slip, showing only a couple of mixed drinks of some type, was for the restaurant near the parking lot. Three of them were for a little coffee shop in Tiverton. Maybe they know her up there. Maybe she lives there, which would be better. Maybe I’m crazy.

The Answer:
Cute as a button French actress Leslie Caron first made big, dancing into your arms in American in Paris (With Gene Kelly), captivating hearts in the beautiful little Lily, and melting hearts in Gigi.
