Today's Tids Issue 3,537
Opening Stuff:
I
love technology. I marvel at what the human mind has
created. Most of it will be for the good of people. But that’s just the problem
– people. Too many people will and are using it for the good of themselves. It
has become a key that can unlock personal lives, and preserve the sins. Remember
Shakespeare, “The evil that men do lives
after them; the good is often interred with their bones.” The Internet makes it
true, “The momentary craziness of good hearts is embedded in their digital DNA
fro eternity.”
Trump
got 46% of the Nevada vote which sounds pretty good, except
when you consider how small the vote was. It was more like a handful people
left the tables for a moment to go to the restroom, and plugged into a voting machine
they thought was slot machine.
I’m
getting a feeling that some of these high flier tech
stocks are going to be coming back to earth. Twitter has and Apple is really
having trouble proving to Wall Street
that they can have the kind of rocket growth the stock the past several years.
Now there is talk questioning the high P/E ratios of FaceBook. The tech stocks
look rosy because they have settled into the populations of billions of people,
and it doesn’t take much to move the needle up rapidly. But, there come the generational
second guessing that moves away just to move away. It’s good to keep a sharp
eye on tech right now.
High
tech ubiquitous Video has become the bane of all Politician’s.
Just this week we saw Joe Biden protesting the Bush ability to pick a justice
with words almost exactly similar to the Repubs today. –A combination of clips
on the Mark Simone (WOR, NYC) showi everybody from Bill Clinton to Madeline to Hillary
to Biden et al saying vigorously (Before Bush Presidency) there was no doubt as
to the danger of Sadaam WMD’s. OF course, lately we all saw Rubio and Cruz
stammering to answer to video quotes opposite to their current statements. Do
you think that Video will make politicians honest? Nah, just more careful.
The Question:
Bonus: I think we need the first Italian president
next. But not many Italians have ever run. Name Italian people who have run fro
president,

Tids
readers answered, and they all feel that Apple should
help the FBI in the terror IPhone caper. The general overall reaction I’m
sensing is it’s basically teckies versus Americans. Now, I’m not saying that
Teckies aren’t American, I’m just noticing that they seem to think the universe
in which they really live is more important than nationalistic fervor. I
understand the security problem, and I try to be really careful about giving
away my life to strangers…and big Government. One person did get me thinking
twice and that was Judge Napolitano, a quite conservative legal expert who contributes
to Fox News. He had a complex legal constitutional argument against releasing
info to the FBI, but frankly I didn’t understand it well enough to report it to
you.
I
tried to find some cool celebrity news to spice up the Tids
this morn but could only come up with “Why Snooki wants 4 Kids” and “Kylie
Jenner Reveals the meaning behind her new red tattoo,” God, isn’t it great that
we have all of ths new technology which can get us the important stuff fast.
I
am not titillated at all by any of the Presidential
candidates, except maybe the old socialist who is at least likeable. I cringe
at Trump and can barely watch Rubio or Cruz for a minute or two. And of course
Hillary is unmentionable. Yes it is that bad…to me.
I
just saw a new word, “Non-troversal” which defines
beautifully all of the manufactured news hysteria about basically nothing we must
endure these days. Like Gitmo for instance, which the anointed one is trying to
elevate to the presence of God, and it means absolutely nothing to me. And “O’s”
frenzied reasoning behind the push to close war simplistic at best . It’s all about
his personal scorecard.
I
suspect that so few Italians have ever run for president
is because this hard working segment of society has no aspirations to move into
public housing.
Bernie
who now has a 30 point lead over Hill in West Virginia
must be winning points with statements like this one he made yesterday, “Senate
obstruction a racist effort to delegitimize Obama.” I am really tired of this
racist exuberating.
“The
Parking Lot” will Return Tomorrow. I have to run off
and give a talk on Libya. I hope I don’t get stoned.
The
Answer:
A lot of people may have thought that Mario Cuomo
had run, but he was only to have run based on behind the scenes whispers. It
appears that Rudy Giuliani was the only Italian candidate who ever officially
ran. Geraldine Ferraro ran for Veep, which is close.
There
are always days like these,
When my fingers type like the breeze.
Briskly writing a PowerPoint on Libya
And also for Tids tracking Pols fibya.
