Easter Tids Issue 3,559
Opening Thoughts, Closing With Love:
Today I walked out on my
deck to a dawning morning. There was a special glow in the sky, a soft almost
hazy pinkish orange hue that immediately brought comfort. Why wouldn’t there be
this blanket of color, that drew away fears like loving arms? It is a special
day.
Is today only anguish, extreme pain and
agony, crying and weeping? Or is it like life when despair turns to blackness, that
we find a way; the darkness only serves to make the light shine brighter.
I would like to have walked down the
paths of Joseph of Arimathaea’s lands, to a hillside near a tomb. To have sat
with others, wondering, hoping. To sit there through the night, dosing perhaps
at times. Alerted by birds singing in the meadow below, our eyes widen. The
light begins. Like every morning the sun peeks over a hilltop. Suddenly though,
this morning three days after, it bursts into a brightness no human has ever
before seen. I feel majesty in my heart; a love profound and caring. We all
stand together. We know, but we don’t see.
Slowly the
light becomes the day, and the lushness of the earth seems brighter and the
avian songs more glorious. Eyes of all as one turn towards the cave that was
the tomb, and the stone is gone. And we feel the glory and the rebirth. Our
tears of agony have turn to those of joy.
Happy
Easter – E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y. And remember, God never said
you couldn’t eat Chocolate.
To
me,
this music says it all better than any words I could write:
