Today's Tids Issue 3,558
Opening Stuff:
I’d
like to say that the reason The Tids was short
and late is because I was in deep reverential state. But God doesn’t like you
to lie during Holy Week. Basically I just blew it
I
really like to write above the fray, bur the political
fray is much too juicy. I’m just lowering my standards like the rest of America.
Does that make me more Patriotic?
Haden
wrote his “Surprise Symphony” mainly because the audience
seemed to be sleeping tough most of his other effrits. I always associate the
great composer with dozing. Hint: The Surprise in the Surprise symphony isn’t
that startling.
Now
that Putin feels he has Syria under control, how
long will it be before casts his eyes Back to Ukraine.
The
Question:
Former Amherst College basketball player Ken
Howard died Last night. For what two accomplishments is he best known? Bonus: Personally, I think Woolrich and
LL Bean are the Top men’s fashion designers. But there must be more. Name the Top
Ten men’s fashion designers.
The
Headlines:
--Stock Down Moderately On Lower Oil And Clobbered
Bank Shares; Some Analysts Say Market Exhausted, Needs A Rest; Durable Goods
Negative For Third Month, Slowing Manufacturing.
--Syrian Troops Storm ISIS Held Palmyra; Iraq Launches
Offensive To Re-Take Mosul.
--Cruz and Trump Batter Each Other; Cruz making
Gains In Wisconsin and In National Polls; Bernie Drawing Large Crowds.
--Guiliani Says Hillary Clinton Could Be Considered
“Founding Member Of ISIS”.
--Butcher Of Bosnia Karadsic Convicted oOf
Genocide And Sentenced To 40 Years.
The
stock of too many companies soars on rumors of
buy-outs, and not necessarily on whether or not it has the goods to grow. One
of the bigger problems is that the run-up of stock prices based on initial
growth may or may not be sustainable. The trick is to see plateaus forming,
despite words of encouragement from management.
Nero
fiddled while Rome burned, but he never high fived at a baseball
game in Cuba or tangoed in Argentina while blood flowed on the streets. Trying
out for Dancing with the Stars?
Have
you noticed that smaller colleges are gaining fame with political
polling. Quinnipiac was first, and is now being followed by Mon,outh and Emersion.
The
Line of the week: This from a caller to a local talk
show: “Obama is acting a lot like a RI state Worker two months before he gets
his pension.”
I
could have said that I was late today because I was having
trouble getting my blue Easter egg dye blue enough. But, Shrillary has encouraged
not to fib, but just change the subject.
The
Answer:
Ken Howard is bets known for his role In White
Shadow. He was also highly respected President of SAG. Bonus: Ok, so it isn’t
Woolrich. #1 is Armani followed by Ralph Loren, Hugo Boss, Clavin Klein, Burberry,
Gucci, Prada, Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana, Levi Strauss, Christian Dior,
Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger and Nike (?). The rest to 2o are Banana Republic,
Kenneth Cole, Dockers, DKNY and Ermenegildo Zegna. Actually Woolrich is #42.
Brooks Brothers is 26.
Actually
I got a lot done today, just not for you. The truth
hurts, doesn’t it.
Tomorrow
I will be short again but long on feeling for Easter
weekend.
