Let enlightenment shine forth.

Today's Tids Issue 3,544
Opening Stuff:

There is lots of regular good stuff in this daily morning mess that gets buried in the venom of political incongruities. I like the Tids to be about sunny days and puffy clouds, and dolphins playing in deep blue seas. There is so much more good in the word than evil, yet we seem to paint with so much black. I am really going to try to lay off all of the negativity of politics. Really, honest. I owe to all of the good people who actually revel in the accomplishments and elations of their and their family’s and friend’s lives.

You’ll all be happy to know that I’m taking some new writing courses...on conciseness. How great is that!

A checkout lane Tabloid shouted out in a headline: “Elizabeth Taylor: Her Hidden Life.” Will she ever just go away.

The Question:
A list of the Top 21 most successful Alums of American Idol has been published, Name the top 10? Bonus: Who was the first President to have a high tech broadcast of  his inauguration…on Radio?

The Headlines:
--North Korea Leader Orders Nuclear Arsenal On Standby; Russia Concerned By NK’s Readiness To use Nuke Arms.
--US Adds 242,000 Jobs In February; Market Up In Morning Trading.
--US Deploying Ships To South China Sea As Tension Rises.
--EU  Mulling Large Scale Migrant Deportation Plan.
--ISIS Massacre 14 Inhabitants, 4 Nuns In Catholic Yemen Retirement Home.
--Top Donors Leaving Wounded Warriors After Excessive Expense Claims; Board Is Auditing Finances.
--NFL Deflategate Appeal Goes Well For League, Not So Much for Brady.

People who condemn all the rich as greedy are just as outrageous as those who condemn all on welfare as lazy.

It appears to me from what I am seeing and hearing, that Romney’s speech against Trump only served to reinforce Trump’s supporters, as the Mittster was reflecting the establishment from which so many are running

Yes the world is a little different in many ways these days. For instance, as I type trains are chugging towards Alaska…bringing tons of snow for the Iditarod. I would really be odd if they were bringing it from Naples Florida!

The British say ISIS is taking their looted money and turning it in to about $20 Million Per day profit with successful Currency markets trading. US retirement funds should do so well.

One of the new words that crept up on me is “Outlier”. I hear it used by younger generations all of the time now. It is applied to anything now that is outside of any sphere. Officially it means “A person whose residence and place of business is at a distance; Or, “Something that is situated away from or classed differently or main or related body.”; Or, statistically, “An observation that is markedly different in value from others in the sample.” Feel smarter?

Speaking of new words, I think the millennials must have also redefined the word “Comedy”. What I’m seeing touted at laugh riot comedies are not making me laugh at all. It’s making me run and hide. The latest was last night when I watched a new comedy on HBO called Togetherness. The screaming and yelling, and bitterness, drove me from the room where I turned on another scene of screaming yelling and bitterness – the Repub Debate. So. by today’s new definition of Comedy I figure that was considered a laugh riot. Why am I crying?

It is hard to report on American Idol this year as they keep on eliminating some of the best singers. Olivia Rox laving was a crime.

Do people in real life have the same limited vocabularies as those on HBO. Is HBO imitating life, or vice versa?

Bad Boy Department:
--When Trump ran his casino empire from 1995 to 2005 the Casino Industry was soaring, raking in massive profits…except the Trump casinos. For instance the Dow Casino average was up 160%. Individual casino’s stock flew high – Penn National (3,240%), MGM (430%) and Boyd Gaming (280%). Trump Hotel & resort -89%. I expect we will see a lot of this stuff as the stop Trump groups start sending money. It’s going to be a rocky summer. --A petition calling for the arrest of Bill Clinton for breaking Massachusetts election law as has already 90,000 signatures. A Tids observer says the Law Allows an exception for old men seeking female companionship in public gatherings. So, Bill skates again.

The Parking Lot: Chapter 49 continues.
Nancy moved fast suspecting that somebody may be looking for her after the phone call. They whoever they are, were there and it wasn’t for a surprise party. The fact that people could be assembled so quickly made her believe that there was a lot going on with the casino situation.  There were a lot of people concerned about unknowns.
She did not need company right now. She would call the shots.
It seemed as though she had been running flat out for two hours. Her legs were getting tired, but it was probably all of the tension she rationalized. She relaxed a little when her eye caught the sign of a small boutique Hotel about a half block up. She thought she was near it, so this was good. Before getting there she decided to hide her cell phone in another of the city’s famous alley’s.  As strong as Nancy was, she was paranoid over the prospects of being tracked. It only took a minute, and she was on hr way. Two minute later she was standing at the reception desk and a clerk was asking all of the usual questions. She paid with an obscure credit card, signed quickly and moved up to her room.
She dialed Jared don the room phone and lay on the bed ready to be soothed by his voice.

Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--Based on the first promotions for London Has Fallen, I was looking forward to this film. But as promotion gained steam, it went quickly from my perceived cerebral mystery to action thriller. The critics hate it. The world leaders gather in London for the funeral of the British PM, but to everybody’s surprise the most protected event in history becomes a plot to kill the world’s most powerful This opening is pretty well done. Then the heroes ride in and it gets very ordinary.
--Whiskey Tango Fox Trot is a predictable film starring Tina Fey as journalist Kim Barker in Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is based on Barkers memoir “The Taliban Shuffle”. I like Fey in non-comedic roles and this could have been good, but the  acing is snail like.
--The best film of the week seems to be the animated Zootopia. It is set in an animal metropolis with a melting pot style population where everybody pretty much gets along regardless of who they are. Our heroine becomes the first bunny on the police force and she finds quickly she is not  well  accepted by the big tough animals, She decides to take on a big case to prove her value, bu to do so she must accept her fast talking scam artist fox partner.

The Answer:
Number 11 most successful AI Alum is thedynamic Adam Lambert. I thought he’d be closer to the top. At 10 we have David Cook and then Scotty McCreery, Jordan Sparks, Rueben Stoddard, Katherine McPhee, Kelley Pickler, Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson and as now surprise one and two – Kelley Clarkson (The first ever winner) and Carrie Underwood. Bonus: Yes, Radio was quite the technological achievement back in 1925, but it is odd they chose “Silent Cal”, Calvin Coolidge as the feature speaker.
