For clear eyes:
Life
isn’t about a glass half full or half empty, but how you
fill it.
One
of the biggest scams in America is wrought by promoters selling
no carb, no calorie pasta and rice, which are in effect simply re-formed
vegetables. It ain’t fettuccine if it’s made out of rutabaga.
So,
did
you hear about he guy visiting the Middle East whose hotel was just a stone’s
throw from where David fought Goliath?
The
bombs in Austin have gone beyond a daily news story. It
is a new American tragedy…and just one more threat to an orderly society.
The
Question:
When, where and by whom was the Republican party
founded? Bonus: Name Three movies of
Theresa Russell.

It
was good to see Central Michigan upset Ohio State in
the NCAA Women’s basketball tournament. The women’s league is dominated by traditional,
powerful giants and needs a good Cinderella story.
Lately
though, any team that beats UConn women is a Cinderella
story.
I’m
for the death penalty for drug dealers as promoted by the President
yesterday. And, if you have been reading the Tids over the years, you know I would
add to the capital punishment list Wall Street/financial gurus who betray trust,
who scam people out of their life savings.
There
is no better way to cleanse your clogged mind than by shushing
down a mountainside on skis. One of my daughters just spent a weekend in Vermont
saying it was as good a skiing day as she has ever seen. Judging by the current
temps, here, it still must be pretty darn good.
A
reader just sent in a picture of Hillary wrapped in Bubble-Wrap.
Let me know if you want it for your fridge.
Lifelong
counterfeiters
never make any real money.
Jim
Carey, to me, ruined many a decent movie plot with
over acting and bad comedy. Now he’s into bad art with silly condemnations.
And,
Hillary too. She doesn’t have to tweet to look uninformed,
She just opens her mouth. She has become a laugh a minute. And Dem leadership
have ceased laughing.
I
am still worried that the tariffs will be bad for our
economy. That they will undo the kick received from the tax benefits.
Let’s
hear it for Los Alamitos Cal who stood up to State
loonies there and voted to opt out of Sanctuary City laws. That City with a capital "C" affirms that legality
still matters; that crime should not pay in the USA.
It
doesn’t surprise me that a stock like Facebook could
get clobbered. But what bothers me is that so-called safe, stable company stocks
get sucked into the decline too. How do you build a balanced conservative portfolio
if irrational emotion can also take over rational stocks?
One
of the big problems that keeps getting bigger is the inability
of big Mall chain stores to stay solvent. It seems that we are in the beginning
of the demise of an industry that sculpted the US landscape. It wasn’t pretty
when concrete and asphalt replaced green rolling fields neath mountains tall;
it will be even uglier when it’s but a ramshackle blight of closed buildings settling
into weeds.
There
is a lot of innuendo surrounding Mueller investigations. The
McCabe/Comey memo revelations to some knowledgeable people, like legal expert Jonathon
Turley, think there is a lot to the criticisms aimed at these former top FBI
operatives; that they both could be in serious legal trouble. But in reality, nobody
knows not much of anything, and people as usual are comfortable in their own misconceptions.
Turley
on McCabe: “In Defending himself, McCabe was pointing his
finger at Comey for leaking confidential information and also ‘Lying to
Congress”.
The
theory behind the new chain of Elvis Steak House’s is
food for those who Love Meat Tender.
The
Answer:
The Republican Party was founded in 1854 in Ripon
Wisconsin by groups who opposed slavery. Bonus
; I have always found Russell as a pretty good actress in several roles.
Her fist big role was in the Last Tycoon. For that she got her next pic
opposite Dustin Hoffman and Kathy Bates in Straight Time. Roger Ebert said she
was the only reason to see her next film, Bad Timing. I liked her as the serial
killer opposite Debra Winger in Black Widow. Other critically acclaimed roles
were in The Razor’s Ede and Impulse.
When
you think it, about all of the problems in the world today
come from one mind interpreting the same thing entirely differently than another.
But, what’s really odd is that when you bring two people into a room to look at
the same thing, they still can’t come to an agreement at what they are looking
at.
