Today's Tids Issue

For good days:
Do
you know what brings shivers to the spine, a tear to the
eye, and broad smile to the face? It’s learning that those Thai boys are coming
out of the caves. That’s what.
Download
Tids to a Kindle before going to the beach. Reading
induced naps are a great way to spend a summer’s day.
I
believe there are infinite combinations of all elements of
life and life’s adjuncts. All we have to do is prod a lazy mind and force it to
work beyond comfort zones. This is especially true when your mind keeps telling
you that it’s been working much too hard for way too many years…and should
retire.
I
will never watch a hot dog eating contest.
Dog
breeders have been working hard lately to top one another. The
latest sure to be successful cross breed is the Collie plus Lhasa Apso – named
the Collapso: A dog that folds up for easy traveling. Underwritten by United
Airlines.
My
guess is that China is putting a lot of pressure on
NK to conform to their needs as opposed to anything the USA offers. The big
insult to Pompeo over the weekend appears to be just one more chess move in the
big tariff strategy. NK needs China more than they need the US. They may have
already received what they wanted for America, a public handshake. Of all the
stuff 24/7 on cable news, I believe this China situation is the most important.
The discussions about it are much more mature, cerebral; definitely more
listenable. Smart people are definitely trying to figure it out, without histrionics.
The
Question:
Who are these People: Shelly Duvall, Roz Ryan, Billy
Campbell, Joe Spano, Paul Hodo and Linda Williams. Bonus: Who are Lewis Powell (AKA Payne), David Howard and George
Atzerodt?

College
Professors who teach mob activism rely on one undeniable truth:
Cable TV news makes their money by perpetuating conflict.
As
far as I’m concerned, Jason Robards is Ben Bradlee. He’s more
Ben Bradlee than Ben Bradlee is Ben Bradlee. And Tom Hanks, he is just a cheap
imitation.
A
pretty smart friend of mine says that the Book on OSS founder
and so-called” Father of American Intelligence, Bill Donovan is really worth the
time reading.
They
are breeding Pointers with Setters for a new Christmas dog –
the Pointsetter.
BTW,
Donovan, a Republican yet perhaps one of the most trusted
advisors to both Winston C and FDR during WWII, advised Roosevelt not to inter
Japanese, pointing out there was no problem there.
We
may have stumbled across a new way to heat homes in the
Winter, without the use of petro-products. I learned this morning that a person
ignited a Cheeto, which proceeded to smolder for a long time, emitting a soft warmth
while never erupting into a fire. I’m having the Tids Test Lab (TTL) work on
the potential for what may be one of mankind’s greatest achievements. Try that
with kale!
I’m
going to have use non-PC words like “Mankind” as much
as possible in the coming weeks before women overtake Congress, which seems to
be on track in the early stages of midterm elections.
I
would truly hate my life if it was ruled by the whims of
AI.
Why
should Hollywood and powerbrokers think they have the
right to intimidate states into doing things for their version of the common
good versus what is right for the people in the state? Hollywood influence has
become a form of encroaching globalism.
Did
you read where “Shoplifters” have formed a class
action suit against big retailers who give these criminals the option of
educating themselves for their own betterment over going to jail. So, what’s
next? If the government employee unions cease to exist, will the national Union
chiefs start organizing criminals. Nothing would surprise me in this anything
goes world. Where rationalization and procrastination seem to be overwhelming
responsibility and human courtesy.
I
took a chance on using the food processor, but no
dice.
The
Answer:
I only remember Shelly Duvall as Olive Oil in the
movie Popeye. That’s the image I have. In fact, she is highly regarded for her
portrayal of quirky characters. She won a Cannes ward for 3 Women, and starred
also in the Shining, and Time Bandits, among others. –Roz Ryan, a comedian, was
in many Broadway musicals and is known as the voice of Tahlia in the Disney
film Hercules. –You first knew Billy Campbell as Luke Fuller on Dynasty. He has
been in many TV dramas like The Killing, Crime Story and The 4400. Joe Spano is
a current favorite for many in his Role as FBI agent Tobias Fornell on NCIS.
His first big role was in Hill Street Blues. –David Hodo was the “Construction
Worker” in the Village People. (The rest were Cop – Victor Willis, Indian-
Felipe Rose, GI – Alex Briley, Cowboy – Randy Jones, Leather Man – Glenn
Hughes). --There are many celebrities named Linda Williams, from a Film scholar
whose main interests are in melodrama, pornography, feminist theory and visual
culture, to American and Dutch folk singers to a politician Linda Hunt Williams
of NC. Bonus: These three men were
hung alongside the first woman ever executed by the US Government, Confederate
sympathizer Mary Surratt. They were convicted as co-conspirators with John
Wilkes Booth in the assassination of Honest Abe.
Today,
based on a historical analysis, Mary Surratt could be an absentee owner of an
Airbnb, spending the rest of her free time marching in protests. There are
still arguments over the guilt of Surratt.
We
all exert a lot of energy anxiety over small issues
that have very little importance in the grand scheme of things. That’s one
reason why I felt so happy when I saw what human focused thinking can do, as happened
in the rescue of the Thai soccer team. From news reports, everything said no,
give up, it’s over. But, when humans are called on to find solutions to real
problems small or catastrophic, they dig down another inch. The heroes everywhere
are not glittering stars or powerful king makers. Like so many situations on this
great earth, they are people who see problems and find solutions often under
incredibly trying conditions. Amen.
There
is only one God. There are just different ways of
praying.
