Sing it like George M:
Yesterday,
I heard the expression “Exhausted Majority.” That includes
almost everybody on US soil except for the extremist minority which is basically
people who have chosen as not only their profession but also as their downtime
hobby, yelling and screaming, accusing, and the tearing down the precepts of a
great country that works. I would expect that anybody or any group highly
organized or conveniently disjointed that contributes to the continuation of
the noise will lose favor with all the people who are just plain fed up – those
who are devoted to the daily tasks of living and loving and giving unselfishly
unto others.
Yes,
I’m tuning out the noise. Hey, wait a minute – The Tids is
noise, interrupting a pleasant breakfast, or lunch, depending upon when the
Tidster wakes up and starts typing.
Shoemakers
prefer cobblers for dessert.
Sunday
is the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice that
ended the “War of all Wars”, WWI. As I have noted here before, the treaty was
signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th
month. Feel the memory of heroes as your walk through this weekend.

Who was Stieg Larsson? Bonus: The odds makers have picked their favorites for the Superbowl.

Ho!
Yes, today in 1620 was a beautiful morning for the Pilgrims who arose in their
damp below deck quarters to learn that Cape Cod was visible in the distance. You
know the rest of the story. Actually, there were many peoples who immigrated to
American shores before the iconic Pilgrims. But, New England had all the writers
and poets to romance their presence and deeds. So, you see, in American it is
always the publicity and promotion of events that wins hearts and not necessary
the talent or achievements of individuals.
So,
did you hear about the ex-doctor who failed at bank
robbery when the teller couldn’t read his holdup note?
If
I were the Repub house leadership, I would begin a
campaign to promote Dem Midwest Moderates for all leadership positions and
Committee Chairs. It might help return sanity and reason to the people’s house.
Just
when you think we have reached an apex in
technological achievement, we learn that scientists have developed a bionic
mushroom that can produce electricity. Yes after 2.5 billion years, cyanobacteria
have evolved the capacity to efficiently absorb light to produce energy, And
now scientists have harnessed it. Maybe vegetarians are onto something after
all.
People
don’t become vegetarians because they love animals. They
become vegetarians because they hate plants.
The
Dems have taken over beautiful Maine. The soon to be ex-governor
and wonderfully outspoken Paul LePage is moving to Florida to get away from
taxes, which he thinks will go up under the new give-away politicians now in
charge.
The
five most liberal states – worst places for conservatives are
California, Vermont, New York, Rhode Island and Maryland. At least Vermont
elected a Repub as Governor which certainly makes them more sensible than RI.
Actually, to me, RI is more Democrat than Liberal, but the progressives are
marching in. On another list, Maine is #8 most lib, so I expect that with the
current move to Democrat takeover, they will be moving up.
Rubbing
your eyes with fingers after eating Cheetos stings. Do you
think scientists will ever find electricity in the orange snacks?
Of
course, it would take a 90,000 square meter forest
of mushrooms to power one laptop. But, it is a start. Maybe they could have
mushroom farms in urban sewer systems.
Pretty
soon the biggest problem in life could be trying to pick
the best streaming system. Everybody wants to get into that act.
The
blatant attack on Tucker Carlson’s home is just the latest
example of how America is turning into a third world country. A pretty smart
person asked me yesterday -- why when people clamor to come to America for all
of its freedoms and opportunities, do many of them over time tend to want to
change it to the places from which they came.

Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--People like The Grinch, but critics seem tired of
the spirit. In this version Grinch will
pose as Santa to steal Christmas From Whoville. A young girl Cindy-Lou gets her
friends together to kidnap who they think is the real Santa to thank him for
helping her “Single working mother”. They clash. Get it.
--I was looking forward to the return of Lizbeth, but
this version of ten original Stieg Larsson classic doesn’t live up to the stranded.
It is similar, and probably a decent way to escape from the outside noise. It
has a lot of #metoo flavor driving it. It is said to be confusing and flighty.
Take your chances.
--Now, Overlord is thrilling. On D-day, a US team of
paratroopers drop into behind the lines France for a critical mission to
eliminate a key Nazi communications operation. All is well until they discover
a mysterious German experimental lab…and the Zombies are released. It is far
more realistic than a Zombie flick but that is the concept. I might go.
--The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is an anthology film
by a team that I like – the Coen Brothers. It is a series of six stories of the
American western frontier. Probably the best film of the week.
--Beautiful Boy is a heart wrenching tale of a father
and son and the expenses of survival, relapse and recovery from addiction.
Maybe a little to studied, but emotional and pointed in today’s society. Based
on a true story.
The
Answer:
Stieg Larsson was the author of the very popular
“Dragon Tattoo” series. He died in 2004, so anything you see that attempts to
replicate his creativity is written by another person. Bonus: Number One with the Odds makers right now, today is LA Rams
which has moved form 8-5 to 5-2. #2 is New Orleans up to 7-2 followed by KC at
9-2, New England 6-1, Pittsburgh 8-1, LA Chargers 14-1, Minnesota 18-1,
Philadelphia 20-1, Carolina 25-1 and at #10 – Houston. After last night’s
incredible performance by the Steelers and Roethlisberger, Pitts looks like a
team that should move up, with Carolina dropping. At 9999-1 they have the
Cardinals, Niners, Bills, Browns and Raiders. What, no NY Giants! The oddsmaker
must live in NY or have stock in Manning Enterprises.
Happy
Armistice day, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!
