Over-exaggeration.

Today's tids Issue 4,435
Eat more ice cream:

I like happy people. Some people don’t. I don’t get it.

The USA is not asocial experiment. It is a thriving, urgent society, It is not wanting as some would have people believe. It has been tested and adjusted; challenged and reinvigorated. What is good can always get better, but that which is and has been good should never cease as the principled foundation.

From our punny reader crying to be banned, looking to join USVS (US Victims Society): “If you boil a funny bone, it becomes laughing stock.” Ban or no ban?

Too many people listen to weathermen, and live their lives by the forecasts. This weekend much of the country will experience typical end of July weather, and it is already a national emergency. Chill out America.

By the way, last night here was actually cold.

The Question:
Nashville is considered one of America’s super star cities. What are its three main Industries? Bonus: In a poll, the Best Lion King characters were named by voters. Who do you think are the top five?

My brain gets twisted and stymied, to a point of painfulness, when trying to understand how to rank the cyclists at the Tour de France. It’s much like trying to understand bitcoin. I don’t even try to understand left sided politicians.

Pure evil people must get their start working for bread makers devising twisties, clips, sticky fasteners and other assorted, annoying ways to enclose bread products.

Do you get the impression that California mayors and/or City councils spent most of their time trying to decide what they can ban first the nation?

While many northern cities try to figure out how to return to their innovative luster and industrial genius of yore, cities in Fly-over America are booming. They are fresh and unencumbered by small minded politicians and established power groups which have created pockets of negative humanity in older places. But, they can move too.

Every day when I feel the Tids are going grey, I think of somebody smiling, using his or her energy to complete simple or complex tasks, to make another happy. To innovate and create and transmit enthusiasm and pride along the way.

Now, I’m just sitting here smiling. It’s real good to get out of the national rut.

The only difference between today and yesteryear that I see in this supposed new heat wave, which comes around now every year, is that Weather people have new statistics that make 90 degrees look like 100 degrees.

I’ll just do what I always do when it gets hot – nothing. In fact, that’s what I do whether it’s hot or cold.

The Restaurants Unlimited Chain in Seattle is filing for bankruptcy claiming as a major factor Government mandated minimum wages. Higher menu prices, fewer customers; higher labor costs; reengineering business to run with fewer people – all significantly contribute to lower profits and day-to-day business stability, say other Restaurant owners in Seattle. But, pols don’t seem to listen at all.

Paulicians during this current way-too-long election cycle are piling on the Tech giants.  It is no different that piling on AT&T in the 60’s and 70’s, or other 20th century behemoths. They’re there, they’re pickable. It’s what Pols do. Pols like Warren know they can always get Huzzahs from an uneducated public by saying big is bad, but have no solutions nor do they come close to offering anything of substance. Bigness is not bad, and that has been proven over and over again as politicians, similar to antics of union leaders and socialists, have picked on business goliaths; Goliaths that have become big while dodging slings and arrows by being good at what they deliver; who reinvest, invent, research and innovate while keeping prices low to meet big company completion.

Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--The new Lion King is a Live action Disney remake of the original Lion King, although some say it is for today, a little deeper, darker. I think people will basically enjoy it. You should know the story of the reluctant prince who would be King.
--“Rosie” Is a take of a young mother thrown out of her rented home when it is sold. Now a homeless person of the streets, she and her partner John learn how in times of crisis, love and family strength will help them endure unimaginable new hardships.
--Luz is about a cab driver in this minimalist horror film who desperately tries to evade a possessed woman “whose confession could endanger many lives” I think the beauty of this well done film is that horror is in the underlying chills corm fear of threat and not in grisly acts. Scary one, though.

The Answer:
While Music is huge in Nashville, and certainly a major reason why the spotlight shines upon that Southern metropolis, Publishing is also a major industry, one of the largest in the US. Can anyone say bibles? It has become a major banking center, and now a huge manufacturing city since Nissan has starting building autos there. The magnificent Vanderbilt University is its largest single employer. In addition to those three traditional big players in Nashville, health care operations at many levels is booming. They also have many fine small businesses making things well like great biscuits! Bonus: Number One is Scar, -- Chief antagonist of number two, Mufasa. He is followed by Simba, Timon, Nala, Rafiki, Kovu, Pumbaa, Shenzi and Kiara.  Another top ten favorite list begins with Simba and has as the next nine, Nala, Rafiki, Pumbaa, Timon, Scar, Zazu, Mufasa, Kovu and Kiara. See, even in Cartoon characters there are differing opinions.

Opinions change based on who is giving them. But facts are always facts, even when they are altered by opinion.

Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!! Eat ice cream, and sit under a shady tree.
