Today's Tids Issue 4,439
Without committees, a better day, for sure.
Views of yesterday:
--Bob Mueller did exactly what I thought he would do – Nothing. -- The National
news media found a way to push against Trump. -- The President found a way to
make himself look bad in an extensive post hearings interview. –The fact that all
of the Mueller team were Pro-Hillary Democrat operatives cast a pall over the integrity
of the report. –The President does not come off looking that good, ethical or
moral. – As one CBS journalist said: When the Dem leader and committee chair people
come out after to explain what just happened, it means even they didn’t think it
went too well. – The general attitude after the event was, “Why?”.
The difference between
a Hippo and a Zippo is that one is really heavy and the other is a little lighter.

The new summer game of irresponsible
teens throwing water and objects at police is getting out of hand. Add police
to those being disrespected to a lengthening list that already includes teachers.
If I were a conspiracy theorist, I would
say it’s part of the communist playbook that would divide, and weaken the institutions
of a society.
A policeman came by my house
the other day and asked me where I was between 5 and 6. I said Kindergarten.
If you ever need evidence
of how talking too much can ruin a possible good thing, just watch the President.
One of the oft-repeated myths
of modern culture is that super show Hamilton is all about Hip-Hop Music, and
it just flat out isn’t.

The Answer:
Music is very personal, so I expect many of these
choices as best of the 70’s will be contested. #1 is Stevie Wonder followed by
Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, Marvin
Gaye, Queen, James Brown and The Who. Another list has it Led, Stevie, Pink
Floyd, The Who, Stones, Lennon, Elton, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley and David
Bowie. The Iconic Grateful Dead is is 43 and 25. Fleetwood Mac is 12 and 17. Peter
Frampton, whom I liked was 47. Moody Blues was but 77. Yikes! But a big surprise
to me was that the great Janis Joplin was only 112! Looking through old lists
is fun, and surprising. Bonus: England’s Louise Joy Brown was the first
child conceived by in-vitro fertilization.
I tend to fall
into the trap of liking one band or singer over another mainly because of a song
I enjoy.
People who hate Trump
thought the hearings reinforced their negative views of the President. Those who
support Trump thought Mueller was a loser. That’s just the way things work these
days. And, the truth gets lost in the shuffle.
“The truth is incontrovertible.
Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it; but in the end, there it is.” --
Winston Churchill
