The last happy weekend:

The big event of this weekend is of course the NFL Conference championship games. We have two strong NFC teams going into battle, and a nice Cinderella story looming in the AFC. The mighty Tids Picker’s are putting together their analysis for a Pigskin Tidlet below as I type.

It looks like Putin is setting himself up for Emperor for Life over there in Russia. There is only one conclusion and that is that is creating situation that ensure his position as most powerful Russian after he required to step down from President in 2024. Basically, his plan is to change the constitution to enable the transfer of absolute power in Russia from the presidency to “elsewhere in the Government,” thus weakening the power of his successor and setting himself up to run “Elsewhere”. That elsewhere is probably the State Council which would be constitutionally transformed by significantly enlarged powers. I winder what happens ot opponents of is plea for a change.

I have to believe that campaign staffs have specialists who objective is to muddy the website “Real Clear Politics”. Politicians don’t like clear politics.

I just had to start up a new phone and as I said yes to many agreements, I became rather perplexed on just who really owns my life.

Ok, lets’ get down to the NFL. Who goes to the Super Bowl? That is question to day, and that’s what makes this weekend of Pro Football so exciting. Interestingly, the two pairs met each other during the regular season with SF romping over GB and Tenn nipping KC. Green Bay vs. San Fran: Aaron Rogers is a better QB than Jimmy Garofalo. GB’s coach Matt LeFleur has pumped new life into a team that had underachieved in previous years. SF’s Kyle Shanahan is terrific Young Coach. SF Rookie Nick Bosa is one of the new great finds of eth decade. San Fran’s “D is outstanding. The Questions, can Roger elevate his game to match his sainthood status. This should be close and I’ll pichk San Fran 35 24.

The AFC championship should warm the hearts of romantics. The little engine that is, is Tennessee. They are puffing up the playoff hill winning in tough New England and Baltimore, and now only have to beat the fastest team in the NFL, with a magician for a QB. Mahomes, a whiz bang leader who now is adding maturity to his MVP honor of last year. But, Ryan Tannehill, who beat Mahomes in November is the most accurate passer with the best completion percentage in the NFL this year. Coach Mike Vrabel is experienced in playoffs, a smart coach who seems to be passing along his tenacity to his team. Andy Reid has been great for years, a smart coach. But, has he come up enough in the big games? So far, he has been almost there.  And, how great is runner Derrick Henry? Henry changes defensive game plans. But, Mahomes is truly amazing. And has End Travis Kelce when the going gets tough. He has been finding a way, and the Chiefs are playing about as well as anybody. I’m seeing KC 28-27. But, I’ll be real happy if that is reversed.

Could it be that computers don’t panic like humans? And when they overreact to negative signals, they can counter positively faster. Maybe that’s why we haven’t had a recessions lately.

The Dems right now are continually reinforcing the idea of impeachment’s Scarlet Letter being the onus under which DT will live forever. You know, like saying we have done our job to sully a president, regardless of the decision from the trial. And the left side of the media is solidly on board as ever, forgetting that their guy Bill is also wearing the Big Red I, which they pretty much dismissed right after his trial and acquittal. The USH – United States of hypocrisy.

Uber should be very happy about yesterday’s Halting of the Cal Gig law. BTW, there are lots of self-determined people who like the option of being a gig employee. Some people like the security of regular paychecks, but many like being free, and finding their own way. More and more, Cal doesn’t seem to like people finding their own way unless they are homeless or refugees.

The word is coming down that MLB is not finding a lot in their sign stealing investigation of the Red Sox.

But, typical of California, the LA City Council has voting to have MIB give the 2017 and 2018 World Sereis titles to the Dodger. Like trophies for all.

Also, In Cal they are considering raising taxes on big companies.  The size of the tax will be based on the salary gap between CEOs and henchmen and lower paid employees.

Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:

--If you are in to the “Bad Boys” series of madcap films, there is a good chance you will enjoy the new one -- Bad Boys for Life. Will and Martin are back for one last ride, but this time Martin is a grandfather.

--Weathering is a Japanese animated film about a HS boy who runs away from his remote island home to Tokyo, His money runs out and he becomes a writer for a mysterious magazine, Then he meets a girl with a strange yet delightful power – the ability to stop rain and clear skies.

--Dolittle is that Dr. Dolittle, this time we see him 7 years after the death of his wife. He is now a hermit, living with his animals. But after learning of the Queen’s just found disease, he takes off to discover a cure, where he meets old friends and adversaries. He recovers his wit and heart, and happiness reigns. Critics hate it. But the people seem to enjoy.

The first baby born in the White House was to Martha the daughter of Thomas Jefferson. His name was James Madison Rudolf. Bonus: Zooey Deschanel had noticeable roles on the Good Girl, The New Guy, Elf and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe. She received Emmy and multiple GG Award nominations for the TV sitcom New Girl. He sister Emily starred for years in Bones! Btw, Zooey was named after Zooey of JD Salinger’s Fannie and Zooey. Why wasn’t Emily, Fannie?
