Today's Tids Issue 4,757
We are We:
A group of High school students around here sued the Governor, Department of Education and several state agencies for the “Right to learn Civics in school. The suit basically said that, “The lack of a Civics education leaves them without key skills and knowledge to exercise basic civic responsibilities.” A judge ruled against them on technical legal terms but praised them for their desire to be more knowledgeable Americans. Many others joined in with praise. More knowledgeable Americans, How refreshing.
There is always a good backstory behind a chiropractor visit.
Consider this a Twofer. Its rare that The Tidster day runs out of Time, but yesterday it did. I have to admit it is tougher to bring fresh new stuff to this space. I keep seeing lots of commotion out there about nothing really new. And society frowns on insulting people and all of the new identity divisions. How av can an acerbic tongue survive in America today. How can somebody how does nothing be so busy. Weird.
The NY Times TV reviewer wrote ahead of last night’s Trump Town Hall on NBC: “Samantha Guthrie is under a lot of pressure to destroy him.” That doesn’t sound like good journalism to me.
Yesterday I was sitting in my car typing the Tids on a nice quiet street in Providence. And with today’s climate, I suddenly realized, am I in a shooting zone. America was never like this before.
The Question:

In many cities around the country, city counselors are now looking to write legislation restoring funding to Law Enforcement. They have learned that their hysterical rush to meet demands of an outcry to reduce police forces, created an overtime pay situation that makes itnow more expensive than it was before defunding to maintain adequate manpower. And that their cities are way less safe, demanding even more personnel. So much for the instant hysteria.
The pickers got a day off yesterday as there was no Thursday night Game. Our record last week was 10-4 bringing the season to 53-22-1 (71%). Maybe this year’s season is better for picking because the bad teams are really bad and the good teams are really good. But bad still has to play bad and good, good. The glamor game is based on two HoF QB’s, Brady and Rogers. Green Bay is one of the best teams on both sides of the ball. TB loses. Let’s hope that last week the Bills were looking forward to their meeting with KC. That they aren’t as bad as they looked against Tenn. But I don’t see KC going down twice, tough they do look more vulnerable. All of a sudden, the Browns/Steelers affair has become a premiere game. My heart is always with the Browns and frankly I love seeing the Steelers lose, but they won’t is week. Surprisingly, I think the Bengals could give Indy a battle, but Colts will win. Another surprising team is the Panthers. Chicago looks really tough, and I will take them. A real rivalry game is LA Rams against the Niners. I go LA. With out Prescott and with a mediocre defense I had to take the Cards of over the Cowboys. One of the tougher picks is between the losers, Skins and Jints. I’m picking the Washington team. Of the rest I have Dolphins over Jets, Ravens over Eagles (Philly maybe better than it looks), Vikes over Falcons, Titans over Texans (Remember last year when these two were battling for the title?), Lions over Jags, and of course, with Cam coming back, the Patriots over the Broncos. This just in—Pats Broncs c game maybe in jeopardy as Another pat just tested positive. Stay tuned.
My “Wheel Watcher’s Club Spin ID is not producing the kind of income I was expecting.
I have never put up or read anything on Facebook. And guess what – I’m alive and entirely happy.
Maybe: A bee that cany make up its mind. Shoot me. Of wait, noit such a good Idea on todays’ city streets.
Packing the court is possible. There is nothing in the constitution that says it should be Nine. But common sense should tell any American who has any that Stacking the court would be a precedent putting us on the road to wall to wall USA chaos.
My girlfriend the other night was complaining that I never listen to her. Or, something like that.
The Answer:
The unhealthiest were Grover Cleveland, William Howard “The Battleship” Taft, Ike, Ron Reagan and JFK. But what about William Henry Harrison who died just after 32 days in office. That doesn’t sound healthy. Bonus: Suzanne is best remembered for her role in “Three’s Company” and to a lesser extent for Playboy covers, writing a series of “Self-Help health books and probably for many, “Thigh master”. She is a member of The “Infomercial Hall of Fame”
The Q2 answer: The word is Startling. Take away the ’l” you have starting; the second “t” you have staring; the “a” you have string; the “r: you have sting; the “t” you have sing; the “g” you have sin; the “s” you have in; the “n” you have I! Cool.
Do you know what bothers me at times? It’s that people in other parts of the world judge us by our politicians, our media news focus and how Hollywood portrays us in movies and on TV. I know we are much better than that.
Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
