Today's Tids Issue 4,921
A bottle of White.
June 4th has a nice sound to it. I think I’ll drink a diet coke to toast it today.
Several readers sent in their candidates for real life regular people made famous through movies One asks, how Gary Cooper and Sergeant York That was a very good flick. And Audie Murphy as himself the action war hero film. Then there is the moving Brian Piccolo story. And this one, “Invincible” a true indominable spirt movie about an absolutely regular guy, Vince Papale (Played by Mark Walberg. In this 2006 tale find our hero, a true down on his luck guy whose wife left because she thinks he’s a was loser, has been fired as a from his teacher job, and nothing but some old football friends and a parttime bartending job. He attends a “Citizens” tryout for the then loser Philadelphia Eagles. After being derided, makes the team because Coach Dick Vermeil (Greg Kinnear) sees something in him. After some down moments, he comes up big and helps a loser organization to the Super Bowl, becoming a local folk hero along the way. Sounds like this can’t be a true story but it is, and a great feel-good story at that.
I knew a woman who owned a taser. She was stunning.

This has resulted in the surge in the number of major cyberattacks.” Yikes!!

A friend of mine just returned from one of those corporate off-site reenergizing meetings. It was at a place known to have one of the finest wine cellars in the world – 50,000 bottles of excellent and rare wines. My friend was talking to resident expert, The Sommelier, asking her how many of the bottles she has tasted. She said about 90% of the 50K. My freed said in return, you must drink a lot of wine. “O no,” the woman said, “I just sip. When I want something to drink, I have a Bud Light!”
Well, I thought it was funny. People have misconceptions about everything.
