Today is “Global Hug Your Kids Today” Day. We need a proclamation to authorize hugging our kids?  

 

I look at all these celebrities who seem to have been around forever and I find they are all younger than me. 

 

It seems that China and Russia have managed to help remove inhibiting politics from our congressional considerations and revert to reality when it comes to approving the new defense budget. Apparently, Dems and Repubs joined forces to scrap Biden and his advisor’s slash the military plans. You can play games in Ladiddah Land like they do, but when it comes down to a major reason why we have a government in the first place, like for protecting us from foes, rationally thinking oozes to the top. Just staying even with the two aggressive powers now allies is, to say the last, essential. 80 Dems and 149 repub s joined to vote for an increase in the Admin proposals, 329 –101. It    They also rebuked Bidens plans to scarp Nuke cruise missiles and reduce of ships and aircraft. Maybe there is hope for the USA after all.

I talk to people who have visited London and enjoyed all of the majesty and history there. And almost always people say that were most pleasantly surprised by the tour of Winston Churchill's underground WWII war room. And I agree. The phone kids of today would be boggled for sure trying to understand how the greatest war in history was run from a few small rooms using pins in paper maps and a couple of telephones.

Military sources have told me that it could take up to three years to rebuild inventories for all of the weaponry we are given to Ukraine.  

 

The Sri Lanka mess and the growing debt albatross for other Asian countries is a dire sign of the ramifications of reckless debt building. It could happen here. There are limitations, especially even in this new society where people don’t believe in limitations. 

 

I was thinking that if all the professional athletes bought solid stocks instead of jewelry, the market would rebound quite nicely, except of course, Jewelry stocks 

 

A local long time Newport City Council women decided this weekend not to run again. She said the divisiveness is getting to her and that more and more people seem to say now, “I want the government to give me this and his and this. And I say, what are you going to give back, and when.” Too many local officials are into national issues and not the what’s local. 

 

I’m still looking for something I like in this issue of Tids.
