Today's Tids Issue 5,273
Blindfold Days:
Have you noticed that many of today's mindless national discussions are generally a series of non sequiturs?
The Pandemic that has been pronounced over may have reignited at the Queens funeral as Queen Margrethe II of who just tested positive was amidst all of the world's leaders. That would eb a trickle-down pandemic.
The markets are trying to recover a bit. These days that means that we’re not down in the deep dark recesses the netherworld. Everything is relative.
The Question:
An alphabet goes from A to Z. But what goes Z to A?
The Headlines:
--Markets Stay Negative.
--Second Strong Earthquake Hits Mexico City.
-- Trump Family And AG James Trading Barbs.
If you remember that everything is relative, the highs will not be too euphoric, and the lows will be far from dismal.
The TidsPickers did a little better, but we are miles from our 75% goal. 10-6 brings our total to 17.5-14.5 (Dismal 55%) The glamour games are GB-TB, Buff-Miami and the olde traditional rivalry Dallas NYG (The Giants are looking like a team again.) I'm picking a Green Bay upset, the Bills continuing their amazing roll and the Giants to go surprisingly 3-0. Frankly, this week could be like what we have been seeing so far, that any team can win on any given weekend. OK, I go Cleve over Pitt in in this traditional wat r that could be a tossup. I Like Cinn to finally prove they were not a one-year fluke against the not so gentle Jets. Another surprise team, Detroit, will continue against an unpredictable Minn. I’ll hold my breath and take da Bears over the Texans. Maybe the easiest pick is KC over Ind. But the way it is going this year, Indy may finally awaken. But I go KC. LV-Tenn is another poser. Both coaches were embarrassed last week but do they both register similarly on the madness scale. I pick LV. I’ll go Carolina over the Saints. Gulp. Philley should have an easy day winning against the Commanders *Hate that Name). Happy that Jax won last week, but The LA Chargers play on another planet and will win. Seattle and Atlanta is another toss up, but I'll go with the home team Seattle. And lastly, I have to pick San Fran over Denver mainly because if the coaches. I have to say, this entire slate could go either way. Really.
I read the following full page all print ad in the Providence Journal this morning. What do oyu think it means:
“We strongly support and encourage all forms of migration, especially illegal migration. Indeed, we donate to Joe Biden and his party for exactly this reason. However, our beautiful island home of Martha’s Vineyard is very small, and the mansions have very expensive artwork and Persian rugs and unchlorinated saltwater swimming pools that are very difficult to clean. For these reasons, we cannot accept any undocumented Americans at this time and respectfully ask they be sent to a working-class community they can enrich with their global diversity and romantic poverty. Thank you for your understanding.”
Paid for by Citizens for Sanity (Forsnaity.org)
That was a full-page paid for ad in this morning’s paper. I looked up, sanity.org and found their goal is to bring common sense back to America, to highlight the importance of logic and reason and... to defeat rampant wokeism. Works for me.
I think I have written once a month lately that I don’t know why Wall Street is so surprised when the fed raises rates at the level they said they would. They are like kids after Christmas upset at not getting a present their parents always said they would never give.
NY’s AG James is definitely an avowed anti-Trump political animal which might normally minimize the significance of her accusations. But it seems she has an awful lot of facts. Trump lawyers will be earning their keep for several months.
One of the great things about Maine, is that you can easily live a simpler life. Where you can still get a great meal at a really good old ma and pa cafe without a culinary institute trained chef. Where there are thousands of places to get away from the cacophony, and not miss for an instant the hubbub of a down New England city. And it is normal.
Citizens of Monterey Cal were told to shelter in place early today due to toxic fumes arising from a Tesla Mega Pack (New form of supplemental power source at Utilizes). That has been one of the concerns over EVs which rely on Lithium batteries that can catch fire and emit serious toxic fumes. There always compromises even with alleged panaceas.
The Answer:
It is if course the Zebra.
Sorry about that!
Gotta go.
