Today's Tids Issue 5,299
A little gridlock is nice:
“Life is what we make it. It always has been. It always will be.” --Grandma Moses.
Of course, Grandma Moses didn’t have to deal with the Internet and social media... and the Cloud. Yesterday the Internet here was down all day so I couldn’t type and couldn’t send. Sorry folks. So this is an amalgamation of today and what I started early yesterday morning BC, Before Crash.
The Red wave turned into a red puddle, mainly filled with the tears of Repubs. But this mess reminds us again that the USA has never been about one man, one woman but collective agreement among people. As I had mentioned last Friday, The Pilgrims may never had survived without a “constitution” that bound them together for daily sustenance despite serious disagreements between them over various ideological issues.
In less than one day Americans knew that several people out of over 11 million submissions had won cash prizes in PowerBall. Yet it's been days of counting, and we are still waiting for the final House of Representatives’ structure. (Thanks to a vigilant Tids Reader).
Let’s talk about the dreaded “Cloud for a second. When the internet goes, you can’t type, It may be a wonderment in technological advancement, but when you need to type, you need to type. Maybe they need to develop a hybrid system that allows you to type in docs on those occasions when the internet takes a breather.
The Question:
What six states produce almost all of USA Turkeys?
The Headlines:
--Markets Look to Open Higher; Inflation Rate Appears To be Cooling.
--As G20 Leaders Condemn War in Ukraine, Russia Launches New Rocket Attack Against Kiev.
--Trump Expected to Announce for ‘24 Prez Run; Repubs Hoping He Doesn’t
--Repubs Need One More Win to Take House; Thirteen Races Remain.
--Biden Meeting with Xi.
--There Ae 19 House Seats Left in Play.
--Supreme Court: Refuses to Take Up Challenge to Bump Stock Ban;
“Be yourself. Everybody else is already taken” --Oscar Wilde
The only thing “Red” we have going in America is the stock market, and it isn’t pretty.
The Voice “Live”, viewer voting competition is finally back. I'll try to keep this short this year as opposed to the past. Last night it began, and I really like Parajita Bastola. The rest who look like they have staying power are the clever Kique , Bodie, Brayden Lape, the lively happy Justin Aaron, Devix and Bryce Leatherwood. Leatherwood is a good old-fashioned classic but not really a great country singer. But Country tends to win here. That is also good news for Morgan Myles and possibly Rowan Grace. I have personally enjoyed Kate Kalvich but she had trouble last night. I also have liked Sasha at times, but she may be one of the three to go tonight along with Alyssa and possibly Kevin.
After the announcement of Dem Katie Hobbs over Kari Lake winning the Arizona Governor race, Repub leads said, “Arizona is still a very conservative state. But isn't a Trump States”
To me it looked like America just voted for bailouts and government ownership of their lives.
You can type on a typewriter anytime you want.
I got into Rossini this weekend and it brought me back to earlier times when he was one of my favorites, Starting of course...with the Lone Ranger.
Yesterday was National “PJ” Day. Just because it is a Day, it doesn't mean it is ok to wear PJ’s in public.
If Joe Biden does one thing in his Admin, it would be to find a way ot work withing China. To me, that is the enormous global issue that actually has a chance of being solved.
One thing we got for sure in the election is looking like a senate in Dem control which will surely be more active appointing liberal judges.
Of course, by saying that I am assuming Hershel Walker loses. If Walker wins making it a 50-50 tie, maybe a good leadership offer would entice Joe Manchen to come over to play with a majority more to his liking on many issues.
In the “Frazz”: comic yesterday morning we had the old somewhat frumpy teacher Mrs. Olsen telling a quite smart student he had 10 correct out of 12 on a test. The precocious student replies, “You know what is nice Mrs. Olsen, at least when you tell me I’m wrong, I’m actually wrong,” Olsen replies, “Being better that Social Media isn’t much, but it is better than worse.”
One of the potentially scarier new affronts to the economy is the increased pace of Silicon Valley layoffs. Is it over out there in overvalued tech land? Have they matured like all other businesses eventually must of when the glow of a future fades to the reality of the present?
The Answer:
There are roughly 100 million turkeys that live on farms across the United States. On Thanksgiving, we’re expected to eat 46 million of them. Minnesota is just ahead of North Carolina as the two dominant producers. The other four are Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri and Virginia.
Today is National Clean Out Your refrigerator Day. I don’t keep Cheetos in my Fridge. What fun is that?
