Today's Tids Issue 5,309
Beyond the cacophony:
I walked quiet fields today.
I saw waterlilies blooming.
In quiet ponds.
In peaceful waters
With lily pads greening
Clear waters below.
And I thought of lovers sitting there
Enjoying the beauty of love.
I heard a good rule of thumb to help guide us in elections. Don’t vote for anybody who supported, “Defund the police”. There are two reasons. It is just a bad idea. But more important, it is an indication that this person would overreact to any hysterical national fad without thinking it through. Our politicians are supposed to be more thoughtful than the connected masses.
Fitch scolded America like a parent would an undisciplined child.
Why can’t hedgehogs just share a hedge?
The Question:
What percentage of people born between 1930 and 1946 are dead?
The Headlines:
--Stocks Clawing Back, But Fall Back at Closing; Apple, Amazon to Announce After Closing; Labor Expecting Slowdown

--14 Maimed in Korea Stabbing Rampage.
I think it is a shame that the Big 10 is ruining the Pac 12. Before this deconstruction of two solid organizations, they were both great honorable leagues with great tradition and rivalries. I'll probably be rooting against Big 10 teams from now on. And that is sad because I know many great alums from those great Midwestern schools, and they are terrific people.
Some sports analysts are saying that within 10 years there will probably be just 25 teams in college football and basketball that have all the players and money. It’s sad for the little guy who could, especially in basketball.
I have noticed that most of my favorite snack makers are offering gluten free products as the norm. It is odd. I'm starting to feel funny because of a lack of gluten, and frankly think it is hurting my golf game.
I don’t care what the political apologists say, I think the overuse of mail balloting is a bad idea.
You often read news headlines about stories of elder people doing this or that “amazing” exploit or rigorous accomplishment. It is mainly news because younger people have this false stereotype of older people. A great majority of oldsters can do quite amazing things all of the time.
During a recent password audit, it was found that a Yankee fan was using the following password: “MickeyMinniePlutoHueyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofySacramento”. When asked why such a long password, he said he was told that it had to be at least 8 characters long and include at least one capital.
Talk about wasted news reporting – I turned on my phone to find news items from all sources detailing minute by minute activity on Trump on Planes, Limos and Golfcarts on the way to DC to be arraigned. Really, do we need that.
A lot of countries don’t allow guns, so we get lots of reports from them about horrible mass stabbings. The human is the problem.
The Answer:
This may seem hard to believe, but if you were born between those years, you are the one percenters of the world. Yes, 99% are dead. You are the last generation to have known the difficulty of being raised during the Great depression and living with the restrictions of fighting World War 2.
And you also had to color your own margarine.
I'm partial to fields, where nature sems to relax within itself. Where wildflowers grow, and blue skies above seem bluer.
