Today's Tids Issue 5,308
Let's get back to us:
The indictment of DT yesterday reminds me again of how that assault on the Capital is the worst thing I can remember in my lengthy lifetime of loving America. America, of the people, of people accepting the wishes of other peoples. Where no single man or woman can dominate. Where we had always found a way to try to work together for the good of all. Where the true majority got the headlines and not the extremes. Yes, that assault on the Capital is exactly what the US of A is not supposed to be.
A dog raised in a Paris bakery is French Bred!*
Also really scary this morning is the Fitch downgrading of USA credit. They say it has be because of the high debt levels and the intensity of the anger between opposing political parties. Stop spending funny money for votes and be nice ... and save the economy. How easy is that?
I was going to start the Tids this morning with a poem about romance and love, but I think I got off on the wrong track.
The Question:
What do you think are ten movies that sounded like bad ideas but became great?
The Headlines:

I believe that the diversity thing is one of the true institutional ills of America. I frankly don’t believe in anything that is conjured up and forced upon humans. And the diversity push rings more hallow than most of the profound opinions of the idle thinkers.
*Thanks to “Jumble” for that pun and for yesterday's about peak climbing season. You gotta getem' where you find em’
The UK Costa Coffee company has taken the transgender thing just a way to far with its glorification of breast removal in one brand logo. It appears now that their customers have always grudgingly put up with the overcharging of coffee, and now they could easily be boycotted out of business by surging disgruntlement.
America’s Got Talent has never had a funny comedian, at least in this one man's opinion. And, BTW, that last act last night was about as dumb as it gets even for a show that often looks for senseless outrage to get ratings. And the judges reaction at the end was pathetic.
I am a happy camper right now because the Ya,ya’s are in last place. It's one of those little things that is good for the heart.
Last night the AGT judges went berserk over a world champion drum band. But a week ago the 20 person “Providence Drum Group” performed in one of our town squares here and it was better and more fun. Just in case you are interested in knowing that lots of USA towns got talent.
It was nice to read about the Astro’s Framber Valdez throwing a no hitter. But in today’s Baseball world it's nice to read about any pitcher throwing more than five innings. Remember when Baseball pitchers were men.
Every time I see the team “Guardians: in print I have to pause to remember who they are. Oh yeah, that’s one of my all-time favorite teams, The Indians... who got woked.
Some experts are saying that winning the lottery mega prizes will ruin your life. Hmm... I'd like to give it a try.
The Answer:
#1 is John Wick. That is followed by Starwars Episode IV - A New Hope, Pirates of the Careibbean, Clue, Point Break, The Lego Movie, Face Off, Elf, The Mighty Ducks and Being John Malkovich. (I guess being named John has its advantages). The next several are 21 Jump Street, Barbie, Detective Pekachu, Paddington and the Social Network.
I walk among the flowers of the fields and smile as I see one that smiles above the rest.
I tend to find myself thinking like that after I have flubbed a gold shot.
