Today's Tids Issue 2,830
Opening Stuff:
How come Whistle-blowers on corporations and industries like the tobacco industry are protected from intimidation and harassment by the Government, while whistle-blowers on the Government get intimidated and harassed often out of their jobs by the government. I don't get it. Do we all of a sudden have an evil third world dictatorial government?
Let's see,
Weather underground founder Bill Ayers says that he and his people were
good bombers, seeking justice against a "tyrannical USA". He says that
since his pals blew
themselves up prior to planting a bomb at a "Fort Dix Dance", that
there is no problem because it didn't happen. Like all of the Islamic
bomber plans that didn't happen makes them also non-terrorists? Liberal
thinking is hard to fathom. Oh yeah, and Ayers is a professor teaching
the future minds of America. What?...how to rationalize bad behavior.
Nice, real nice.

There are a lot
of ways to view the Internet sales tax discussion. The Internet folks
are whining saying that collecting the tax and distributing the tax to
states will be a nightmare. It surely would because it is already a
nightmare for Bricks and Mortar companies who have been collecting an
distributing the tax for years. So the B&M people ar e whining
whycan they be taxed liike we are. But here;s the deal as defined in my
brain. The Internet companies have a distinct money savings advantage.
But more than that...they have the brick and mortar stores to display
their wares in 3D! Best Buy is practically bankrupt becsaue of people
sucking info out of them and buying on the Web. So, basically, there are
real inequities here. Frankly,
I would still like my store in the neighborhood, cause the pics on the
Net always leave me wondering what I'm really getting.
The Voice, Department:
I
loved Sarah Simmons. I thought that Michelle Chamuei was wonderful.
Vedo, Caroline Glaser and Amber Carrington were excellent. Then Judith
Hill came on stage and she owned it. She was in total command of her
surroundings and a mesmerized audience. And, me. You can see
the difference between greatness and special greatness. Judith will be
hard to beat. Personally though, the Adam team -- Judith, Amber Caroline
and Sarah -- singing together was a singular amazing event. Big kudos
there. Last night, Adam over Usher. Sarah, Judith and Caroline stay with
Amber going for Adam. Usher keeps Vedo, Josiah and Michelle with Cathia
who sang well but unfortunately is the someone who has to go. Tonight
Blake against Shakira. BTW, Shakira is a pleasant judge.
I liked what Microsoft
brought to the table with Windows 8 and new associative products. But,
it has
all been less than a resounding success. Long time windows users are
have trouble adapting ot the new product, especially on computers
without touch screens. It seems that too many users could not get beyond
the new tiled screen. The-Old-habits-die-slow Syndrome is forcing
Microsoft to rethink lots about heir new PC products and you can expect
something called Windows' Blue in a month, or two, or three. Basically
Windows 8 will revert backwards and open like the comfortable windows of
your. I don't get it.
This is about the time in a recovery
when the house flippers reemerge form
the wood work, fueling an irrational home building economy where the
losers are always first time buyers. First time buyers are the key to
sustained growth in the construction industry, not the "seeya later"
crowd.
Not only is the Internet business
industry under attack by sales tax proponents, but many big industries
like the Airlines are trying to pull the customers away from what they
consider unnecessary middlemen like Orbitz and Expedia. Airlines not
only sell seats, but now offer hotels and car rentals just like the
middlemen. One more war to watch. I feel safer
going with the direct seller of anything.
The Answer:
Electronic
Arts stock is hot probably because they climbed fro 4th in 2012 to
surpassing Microsoft as numebr 1. Microsoft is n #2 followed by Sony,
Nintendo and Capcom (Up from 12). Also up big fro 2012 is #6 Warner
Brothers Interactive, followed by Ubisoft, Konami, Sega and Activision
Blizzard. The biggest drops in rankings were Square Enix, 5 to 14 and
THQ 8 to
16. Where was Studio 38?
It's amazing what can be accomplished in an hour if you put your mind to it.
How come people spend so much time worrying about things over which they have no control?
How come when
my mind is prefectly aligned with all of the elements of a perfect golf
swing, my arms and hands do something entirely different.
