Don't smellum, run forum.

Today's Tids Issue 2,827
Opening Stuff:

"Until you go to Kentucky and with your own eyes behold The Derby, you ain't never been nowhere and you ain't never seen nothin'!" -- Country Philosopher Irwin S. Cobb of Paducah Ky.* Hey, what's not to like about settlin' down with a cool drink, Cheeto's and buttery popcorn for an exhilarating two minutes of undiluted excitement. I don't know much about horses but I can read. The faves are Orb and Verrazano ( A name of Bridge in NYC and the official name nobody uses for RI's Jamestown Bridge.) Right behind is Ricky Patino's (5% Owner) Goldencents. The post horse is Black Onyx (50-1). Sentimentally I would pick Normandy Invasion, just for the guys who didn't make it that day. You have to take a close look at 3-Time winner Calvin Borel's Ride, Revolutionary #4 fave at 10-1. If I were to write too much here, than "Overanalyze at 15-1 would be the choice! PC favorites would be Goldencents with Kevin Krigger aboard aiming to be the first black jock champ (Not giving up senior year for NBA) and Mylute with Rosie Napravnik aiming to be the first lady jock, or is that sport's bra champ. I'm going conventional and picking the ever improving Orb (4-1). I wonder how many will pick Itsmyluckyday (15-1)!

I'm wondering why Radical Islamic Terrorist bombings haven't been labeled by the admin as "Hate Crimes". I guess it depends more on who's in the mob they maim as opposed to what's in the hearts of the perpetrator.

The Question:

Intel, Pandora and Groupon Chief Execs have stepped down under pressure. Which tech exec's heads are next?

The Headlines:

--Stocks Soaring To Close Week.
--Non-Farm Payrolls Rise More Than  Expected To 165K; Workforce Expanded; Percentage Of Labor Force Participation Rate Held Steady At 34 Year Low Of 63%; Construction Fell; Manufacturing Flat.
--Windblown Wildfires Race Through Region Of Over 3,000 Homes Outside Of LA; Many Million Dollar Homes Burned.
--US Military Refeuling Plane Explodes In Midair And Crashes.
--In UK, Cameron's Conservative Party Losing Strength As Anti-EU UK Independence Party Makes Big Gains In Local Elections.
--Pope Meets Pope.
--Pentagon Picks Blackberry Over Apple In The Tech Fruit wars.

I would have sent Harry Connick Jr. packing last night, and kept Amber. But, Amber will live to sing another day. She has a rich natural voice and with a little training will learn to reduce screeching on the high sounds. Kree will probably go next week. I think the voting block is highest on Angie right now. Candice is the best. Three to go.

The guy on pot who thought it was an intelligent idea to open fire on the White House in broad daylight, is now saying he did it because of his dislike of the way the Feds treat marijuana, "which is known," he emphasizes, "to make people 'Smarter'."

Do I still live in the USA?

In connection with Benghazi, a discouraging little story is emerging. The security force hired to guard the US Embassy had al-Qaida ties, including posting the al-Qaida flag in their web site. Good vetting! Keep your eye on that one.

Do you get the feeling that Twitter and Instagram are the tools of the angry? The thin skinned, unthinking loudmouths who you don't want sitting next to you at a ball game? The over-reactionaries who rag on you in a checkout line? The people who talk before they think?

Think about a sad case of a man who every morning goes to Google to put in a search for the long lost love of his life. And every morning she is not there.

Connecticut is shouting from the rooftops that they are passing the "First in history" bill for a recycled mattress program. They're sending them to Rhode Island along with all of the homeless people they regularly deliver across the border. Governments have to be more than that. How about being the first governemtn to step down from passing any more bills or regulations for three years? Now that would be historic and significant.

I'm thinking that Bostonians will be a little nervous about attending the big Fourth Of July "Pops" celebration on the Charles, the original target of the Chechnyan Creeps. It will be even worse if the media over-hypes the potential problem before hand. Which, they will.

Reading Between the Lines Movie Review:
--Today is all about Iron Man 3. Like the others, it is pretty good with Downy Jr. excellent as he has been before. Good story, ingenious action, funny moments and all around, enjoyable. Tony Stark is pitted against an enemy that knows no bounds. When it focuses on Pepper Potts, Tony moves to take them down.

The Answer:
The Tech world moves so rapidly mainly becasue of the wizardry of young innovators who rise, oust former high flyers, and then confront their own wall. Looking for exec removals, keep and eye on Zynga (Mark Pincus), Yelp (Jeremy Stoppelman), Microsoft (Steve Balmer), H-P (Meg Whitman) and Michael Dell of you know what.
