Today's Tids Issue 3,096
Opening Stuff:
You have to figure that scientists know that our Sun
and it’s planets (One is us), our solar system, revolves around the milky way
galaxy. You have to expect that they may have considered the possibility that
changing weather patterns may have had something to do with the earth passing
through changing astrological effects on this massive journey…at 828,000 Km/hr.
Yes, we are not just spinning on our axis each day or revolving around our sun
each day, we are part of a huge mass moving in a gigantic arc around a galaxy.
You just got =a figure that something could happen that’s odd that just may
affect the traditional expectations. Like ice ages or snows storms in July.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Today is the day of the Big Lottery for the
top draft picks in the NBA. It’s the day when so-called professionals learn if
tanking their season for a pick was worth the embarrassment.
Tanking your season? How humiliating.
How un–American.
There are few things that make me smile more
than a duck waddling along followed by 10 fuzzy ducklings trying to keep up
with mom.
The Question:
Finish
the following familiar poems/sayings: “Be it ever so humble…” “Dear House, You’re
really very small…”; “If you should pass come inside…”; “In this house of peace
and rest…””Houses are built of brick and stone…”; “Welcome friend, glad you
came…”

RI has just come out
predicting
a large budget deficit with a major contributor being an large increase in
Medicare costs due to enrollment in the Affordable Care Act. So who’s really
paying for the large hidden costs of ACA – everybody wo pays taxes in states.
And the recipients of the handouts will tell the gullible media, “I love
ObamaCare because it is free.” God help us.
Every time President Obama goes on the
offensive, he becomes just that.
I really don’t care about gravy, I just need something
to keep my meat warm.
It appears that Putin is going to cool off his
desire to take over more of the Ukraine for a while. Now that he’s making
goo-goo eyes with Xi and his mammoth neighbor, who needs to lose favor with the
rest of the world over a small state that’s bankrupt. China is a force the US
will have to reckon with, and Russia likes being part of that reckoning. No
wonder Japan wants to get its military back.

TV Observations
--“24” is better than ever, and I
am entirely and thoroughly hooked. The cast is excellent and the twists and
turns keep you guessing. --And how about the Mentalist where Mr. Cool, -Patrick
Jane, has really only been aloof and at times arrogant all these years because he
has always been thoroughly and delightfully in love with Teresa Lisbon, and
just didn’t know how to express himself…until Sunday night. Real love can do
that to you.. – On the voice, Jake could win it all if Josh wasn’t so good.
Jake is an amazing old time, good ole’ boy country singer at the tender age of
17. Personally I think Christina peaked a long time ago and tonight is between
Jake and Josh. Josh will win, but Jake will surprise because of the country
voters. –If you haven’t seen Fargo on Fx, you can start tonight an still enjoy
it, It’s just that interesting to watch and the characters are so good. It’s a
bit bloody at times.
I remember once driving on a country road in
Fawstah RI, when a sturdy mother duck and five little ducks started across the
road. The Mom stopped right in front of my car and stared at me until the
little guys were safely across the road, Then turned and went back to her
brood.
I just saw an item that said the long standing
n tradition of “Honors Night” for outstanding students was being abolished at
the local Junior High School because it wasn’t fair to everybody. Say what? It
must be the change of galaxies.
The Answer:
Ok,
ready for a little folksy hominess. “Be it evr so humble, there’s no place like
home.” “Dear house, you’re really very small, just big enough for love, that’s
all.” “If you should pass, come inside, our door is always open wide.” “In this
house of peace and rest, we welcome you our lovely guest.” “Welcome friend, we’re
glad you came, we hope so much you’ll feel the same.” “Houses are built of
brick and stone, a home but homes are made of love alone.” Hope you enjoyed
this little trip back into to an America before hip hop.
I think I’ll find a good
recipe for
you for tomorrow’s Tids. Something rich and delicious and a nutritionist’s
nightmare. I think the world has OD’d on mac n’ cheese, so lets find something
oldand make it new in a way that chases away the blues.
