Today's Tids Issue

For Bipartisanship:
Most
of the reported news today is about harangues. I
don’t waste my agita over it.
You
gotta know what matters in other people’s minds.
Ramblings
about NK and DT, Department:
The White House is saying that all options are on
the table after NK fires another missile into the Sea of Japan. That’s one way
to divert attention away from the Russia squabble. But, I’d wait until the
Chinese President comes over tomorrow. The NK problem is as much or more about
China than SK and Japan…and the US. A retaliation from a preemptive strike
against NK could wipe out Seoul. And, we just don’t know enough about where the
nuke capability stands. I like being tough, but I like being tough when I have
some basic understanding of the mental and resources status of who we’re being
tough against. I think Kim Jong-un wants to be provoked into a response. Could be
hell over there.
It’s
about a week til the beginning of Passover, just in case
you have forgotten: The Matzoh (Food of the flight from Egypt); The Maror
(Bitter herbs like Horseradish symbolizing the slavery); The Charoses (Cinnamon
Mixture remind of the mortar used to construct buildings as slaves); The
Beitzah (Roasted Egg symbol of life); The Karpas (Veggie – celery or parsley
representing hope, redemption – in salted water representing tears); The Zeroah
(Roasted lamb shank bone representing the paschal sacrifice offering); The Wine
(Four glasses during the Seder represent the four-fold promise of redemption,
with a special glass left for the prophet Elijah. It’s good to know how other
people think.
The
Question:
There were 7 Female Jewish Prophets and 46 male
Jewish prophets. How many of the 7 women can you name and how many of the top
10 male prophets are on the tip of your tongue?

One
proposal for “The Wall” has it topped with solar panels.
In other words, the wall could be a giant, 2000+ miles long power plant for the
Southwest and Southeast. That might get Libs saying, “Undocumented who?”
The
Voice. The show is moving on, but I have not been stirred
by many performances. Two, though, really got me – Brennley Brown singing “Up
To The Mountain” and Hunter Plake with his very own haunting version of “I Want
to Know What Love Is”. I have also liked a few – TSoul, Hanna Eyre, Johnny
Gates (Who was Knocked out) and Casi Joy, a very good country singer who could be
a factor. I think there is something special about the 13 year old kid Quizzz
Swarnigan.
Car
sales have been one of the major forces driving the economy.
But, it seems that maybe the rise in car sales was partly due to the old pent
up demand which lingered for a very long time after the 2008 catastrophe. A
little peel back recently has some wondering if consumers will use the dough
not spent on cars on something[RH1]
else, or are the car payments sucking the discretion out of discretionary
income. Is this a crack in the recent bullish cycle?
A
friend of mine proposes that pedestrian problem be solved by
instituting the rules of the sea. In other words, small boats Pedestrians) have
to lookout for big boats (Cars+) mainly because big boats can’t stop in a
hurry. Yes, pedestrians looking out for themselves can stop in a fraction of a
second. A car, needs multiple feet and several seconds. The same goes for bikes
versus cars. So basically it should be Semis, busses, box trucks, vans, SUVs,
cars motorcycles, bikes, mothers with baby carriages and finally pedestrians. I
think seamanship makes sense. Try to tell that to a city or town council, or
tourists.
Hey,
what ever happened to “An apple a day…”, Department:
Think of all of those poor, misguided souls who have
been chomping on an apple thinking that will live forever. Think again. Some
food dynasty has declared that everybody should eat these six foods for along
life: Beans, Hot Peppers, Oily Fish, Nuts, Grains and dark chocolate. Long, but
tasteless. Well, 2 out of 6 ain’t bad.
The
great Masters Golf Happening begins tomorrow. Here are the
ten golfers with the best odds to win: Dustin Johnson 5-1, Jordan Spieth 13-2,
Rory McIlroy 8-1, Jason Day 31-2, Phil Michelson 17-1, Jon Rahm 18-1, Ricky
Fowler 18-1, Hideki Matsuyama 22-1, Justin Rose 22-1 and Sergio Garcia 24-1.
The sleepers are said to be Brandt Snedeker, Louis Oosthuizen, Patrick Reed,
Matt Kutcher and Lee Westwood. Remember, Augusta is not as much about long
driving as are other courses. So, accuracy, control and mental toughness will
generally earn the trophy. Experienced players do well, unless their name is
Jordan Spieth.
There
are lots of people in our political fiefdom losing
credibility, and among the leaders is Susan Rice.
Diversity
lives at Stanford. A teen from Princeton New Jersey wrote
“Black Lives Matter” 100 times on his application essay and got in. Whatever
happened to innovative, diverse thought at Stanford?
After
“Undocumented” the word that bugs me the most is
“Diversity’.
The
good news since Prez Trump signed the bill reducing
privacy obstacles for ISPs, seems to be that most of the bigs like AT&T,
Verizon and Comcast are issuing strong
statements saying they will not link user’s Identities with data, they will not
share directly identifiable data with advertisers. I expect also, that consumer
groups will eventually induce the ISPs to offer opt-in or opt-out choices. By
the way, this is an incredibly confusing issue, but after readying page after
page, tis is the nub of tihe situation
The
Answer:
Number one on the Female list is Sarah. The rest in
order are Miriam, Deborah, Hannah (Mother of Simon), Abigail (A wife of David),
Huldah and Esther. Number one on the men’s side is Abraham followed by Isaac,
Jacob, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, Pinchas, Elkanah, Eli and Samuel.
You
know, I see all of these people traipsing from TV
news show to TV news show defending their employer’s premise. Do you have to be
brainwashed to not speak your own mind, or is a paycheck enough? Of course, many
people really believe in what they say, but it is not entirely human never to
stop for a moment to reflect upon exactly what the other is saying. I mean everything
can’t be entirely right. It just isn’t rational. Actually. Most people are
pretty much themselves, except when they are being paid not to be. So, as said at the beginning, it’s good to work hard
to find out what themselves are all about. It may be the best use of time ever.
What,
no The Parking Lot again! What a crappy column this is.
