For Respites:
I’m
seeing that many people are so tired of current politics,
marching in streets, hatred among Americans, that I’ may just leave that scene for
a while -- like a kind of therapy for worn out readers. Of course, I will have
to wean myself away from my own disturbed heart.
So,
what‘s next for free speech advocates of flag denial and
flag burning – shooting eagles?
I
just can’t imagine that some sports doctor hasn’t
discovered some kind of lobotomy for golfers that would reduce overthinking
every shot.
If
O’Reilly is ousted as it now seems he will be, that
doesn’t mean that CNN and MSNBC all of a sudden become watchable.
The
Question:
Who are these people: Tim Curry, Elinor Donahue,
Jennifer Esposito, Hayden Christianson? Bonus:
What was the famous phrase uttered by General MacArthur on his way out the
door.

Go
figure – The Turkish people just voted to give one man unrestricted
access to unlimited power over their daily lives and future. Am I missing
something.
Some
of the strongest singers made it through easily
last night on day 2 of The Voice Live. Two of my personally favorites – Gwen’s
teammates Brennley Brown and Hunter Plake were quickly voted in by the Fans. I’m
thinking now that a great, and very unique final championship week battle would
be between Plake and Stephanie Rice. I was happy to see that Troy Ramey was
Gwen’s pick to stay – he’s a Newport boy. Adam’s group was less than stellar
with Lili Passero in a soft performance, and guitar playing Jesse Larson voted
in, Mark Isaiah was Adam’s pick to stay. I think Gwen is in the competition and
from where I’m standing after two nights, I’m looking at Alicia and Gwen as
being the strongest. But, Blake in his ole’ country boy way can be mighty
crafty.
Russia
Says I t Can Wipe Out the US Navy with a single
“Electronic” Bomb. Yikes! In a Russia propaganda film, US General Frank Gorenc
is Quoted: “Russian Electronic weapons completely paralyze the functioning of
American electronic equipment installed on missiles, aircraft and ships.” This
isn’t your grandfather’s war anymore.
The
Dems anything but Trump strategy may not be as obvious
a winner as the biased news reports are implying. Many people voted for Trump
simply to get a Supreme Court Justice, which they did. Many others who think Trump
is a s certified goofball, still believe that some of the policies he his
putting out there meet their ideals for the country. So, marching in the
streets shouting Trump Sucks is beginning to become tried and even more irritating
in the face of what more people are seeing as accomplishments.
I
thought that Georgia runoff looked pretty close.
The Dems are seeing it so far as a moral victory, and Repubs should take
notice.
When
writing the headlines this morning, I debated on whether
to put the Hernandez suicide first, or the death of “Dodo”. I opted for the
killer football player simply because it is of wider national salacious interest.
I see my choice as an example of what I don’t like about a lot of reporting, --
celebrity over substance. Mrs. Hamilton was born rich, real rich, and for that
reason alone a lot of people probably don’t like her, and some may actually
hate her without any idea of whom she really is. But they will apologize for
Hernandez, who was basically a really bad person. On the other hand, Hamilton
was that kind of person everybody should admire, and even aspire to be. While
raised in perfect luxury, she was always part of everyman’s society -- giving
and giving more almost always without a design for recognition. She has touched
many an unfortunate human being, or supported floundering but necessary
contributions to society. I guess she was a kind of celebrity too. But she
never sought the spotlight only the results.
Do
you know what descriptive adjective bothers me?
“Tastemaker”. Following the ideas, ideals and idiosyncrasies of other people
put on pedestals can be very conflictive. Be yourself. Save energy.
Some
are saying that the Trump Tax Records are hidden
under Obama’s College records. It’s an assurance that the media will never go
there.
It
is pretty obvious that O’Reilly is a thing of the past.
How does Fox replace his $100 Million contributions to the company treasury?
The great new guessing game in America –well, at least among conservatives and
rival TV networks – is who will be the replacement. The four rumored
possibilities are Eric Bolling (He subs often now), former WH press Secretary
Dana Perino, Greg Gutfield and Jesse Waters who is somewhat of an O’Reilly
protégé. I think Bolling would be awful; much too biased often arguing with *Trump-like facts. I like Dana quite a
bit. She is smart, realistic and pleasant, but I’m not sure she can settle in
for the long run. Although, I wouldn’t be upset if she was chosen. Greg
Gutfield is quite conservative but entirely nutty at times with funny off the
beaten path humor. He may scare serious viewers. But he is smart, and tough,
and a great essayist. Jesse Waters is annoying, and an irrational conservative
mired in internet rumors. Personally, I like Tucker Carlson, who has done very
well replacing Megyn Kelley – actually surpassing her ratings. He is believable
with a good sense of humor, and he can accept the other side of an argument adding
to credibility when presenting his. And has a lot of knowledge to back up his
arguments. So, it appears, the game is on.
*Trump-Like
=
Subject to accepting unfounded rumors and conspiracy theories as fact. Spurious.
By
the way, I thought Hernandez was guilty in the double murder
case. But it doesn’t matter now. Except of course to other murderers who want
Jose Angel Baez to get them off like Casey Anthony and Aaron!
Did
Hernandez hang himself because he couldn’t pay his lawyer
fees?
The
Answer:
Who are these people! Tim Curry is a pretty famous British
actor who starred in several hit Broadway shows, but may be best known here as
Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Elinor Donahue is best
known for playing the eldest child of Robert Young and Jane Wyatt, Betty
Anderson, in Father Knows Best. You have seen he in many TV sows like playing
Ellie Walker in the Andy Griffin how. Jennifer Esposito is ow in the top TV
show NCIS playing Agent Alex Quinn (Not necessarily one of my favorites) She is
also currently intermittent in The Affair on Showtime. Hayden Christianson
received early recognition for his role as Sam in My Life as a House. He is now
an Internationally known actor after playing young Anakin Skywalker in the two
recent Star Wars films. Bonus: MacArthur gained even more fame with
his parting phrase, “Old soldiers never die, they just fade away.” That’s why I
have named my golf game, MacArthur!
Fore!
See
you tomorrow if I can find my way out of the woods.
