Today's Tids Issue 3,954
For Languishing:
No,
I am not a “dotard”, letting the Tids slip away as if they were
never there. No, yesterday I was just a Tidster interrupted by love; falling in
love with the western Connecticut hills; Utterly bucolic and devoid of flocking
crowds; Pure green valleys and dales, comfortable lily-paded pnds and bra
glstenting lakes; steeples dotted horizons with maple trees preparing to turn
glorious orange from luscious green. Yesterday I was in these rich hills where
a trip to Fort Knox is necessary to buy a mere trinket in villages quainter than
quaint. But to buy a memory is never necessary in these tranquil lands of small
towns and uncluttered scapes that go on forever. It is the memories of such beauty
that you bring home are priceless.
Dotard,
from the word dotage meaning, slipping into senility.
How
many of our “unbiased journalists” will grasp that
utterance of Kim and never let it go. Be prepared.
The
trouble with many of these fancy culinary sandwich shops
and new look makers of sandwiches, is that when you order something like roast
beef or chicken now tastes like the chef’s favorite herbs and spices. Has
anybody seen my chicken? Actually it is a way to put less meat on thick slices
of gourmet breads. It’s a con job in the name of trendiness. What ever happened
to delicatessens.
The
Question:
Where was the first law School in the USA? Bonus: What was the name of the
animated Space Age family TV series that premiered in 1962?

You
would have to agree that we can still rely on all Americans
being at least unified on the freedom speech amendment…as long as they agree with
the speaker.
Stretching
feels real good in the morning.
I
thought that the movie Raging Bull was a good one, and I
liked De Nero in it. But as I have aged I have found that De Niro is always
just plain old Di Nero, regardless of what role he is playing. Of course, now
he has joined the Hollywood political dunces in the corner, which may have colored
my judgments about him, and without a script, he doesn’t sound that bright. Did
I say colored! While most De Niro films just blend together, I actually remember
one little poignant love story quite well – “Falling in Love.” A simple tale with
an interesting message.
With
the ratings of the first two NFL games down a rather large
12% and 15%, the league may not have enough money left to pay Kaepernick when they
finally get around to hiring him.
Analysts
have found that the major pollsters during the recent election
over-sampled Dem versus Repubs by 30% -- which they say is the reason so many
polls were so far off. According to these same analysts, the major polls are
still over-sampling by the same percentage, effectively reducing Trump’s
popularity numbers by 8 points.
I’d
rather have my mind numbed by Western Connecticut
hills than by poll numbers.
BTW,
Western Ct is not totally perfect. Like this city of narrow streets where bicyclists
cause terror among drivers, they also push around cars on country lanes too.
That’s
one of our problems today, there too many “me” instances that
can interrupt perfect fanciful escapes.
The
Answer:
The First Proprietary Law School in the USA was in
Litchfield CT, yes in those same rolling green hills. It prospered until 1833.
The school was founded in 1784 by Aaron Burr’s Bro-in-Law, Tapping Reeves.
Bonus: The ‘60’s Space Age family was of course “The Jetsons.”
Thanks
everybody for being patient and not sending me anthrax filled envelopes.
Yooz is good people.
Enjoy
the weekend, go to Western CT.
