Choice is everything.

Today's Tids Issue 3941
For thinking first:

How many men never saw what was written clearly in the eyes of a woman, and missed out on perfect love.

Welcome back from the summer doldrums, Everybody. Back to reading The Tids in earnest. Some of you may have noticed random delivery of Tids from time to time. It always goes out, every weekday. Check your spam, and mark Tids “Not Spam”. Unless you want it to remain spam: Tids the WWII Treat.

Regardless of who you are, sitting in the White House these days is not a bed of roses by any means -- NK, Daca, ACA, Ca-4’s and all of the rest pose decisions which in these irreconcilable times can only go the wrong way. Will twittering decline as the tottering weight of decisions increases.

The Question:
Triple Header “Q” Today! How great is that? 1. When war broke out in Europe in 1939, what did FDR declare? 2. Name four Federal Reserve Chairpersons. 3. What was Jack Kerouac’s book that set the youth a wandering away from traditions

The Headlines:
--Markets Stuttering Ahead Of Opening.
--UN Strongly Condemns NK; Russia, China Says Sanctions Are Useless; SK Reports Of NK Missile Launcher; SK Asks US To Deploy Nuke Weapons; Japan To Evacuate Citizens Form SK..

In those areas around the country (ie. SF and Seattle) where minimum wage was voted up by about 50%, why shouldn’t SS recipients be given a similar increase to keep up with the inevitable inflation?

One of the big errors people seem to make is letting others think for them, following popular trends instead of your own self.

Oh, have you read about the latest mass give-away movement – Universal Basic Income? It is the idea being hatched among some lawmakers theoretically designed to combat the threat of Robots taking away jobs. It is being tested in Kenya, but according to what I have read it only takes $22 a month to provide the basics of living. In the US it would rise to about $2K. The problem – Nobody has a clue on how to pay for it. In some international cases, tech giants like Google and Facebook are contributing to their own huge pools of dough to offset their besieging the world with robots – a little guilt money. One problem some of the traditional give-away cities like Seattle are concerned that free money could attract lots of homeless people. Duh. (And people who may like being homeless) Maybe we should just go back to people working, and keep the robots in movies.

How many people think about the times in their youth when they hadn’t a clue about what they wanted to do, and the chose the career path of least resistance or most public acceptance, instead of one which may have best exploited their innate talents.

There are some good choices in September. In fact, later this week is the beginning of National Biscuit and Gravy Week! O-M-G! How sensational is that? In fact, today is the start of National Waffle Week. Am I going crazy or what? But, we should all look to Friday, which begins national “Prayer and Remembrance Week” A lot of people need our prayers, including several North Koreans. By Wednesday we may have to jumpstart P and R week as Irma roars through island nations.

Are you allowed to use the words “National” and “Prayer” in the same sentence?

The Answer:
When war began In Europe in 1939, FDR declared Neutrality for the USA.  2. The first Chairman of the Fed, Charles Sumner Hamlin, was appointed by Woodrow Wilson. Most recently we have had Janet Yellen, Ben Bernanke, Alan Greenspan and Paul Volker. Interestingly, the second Chairman was Warren P.G. Harding, but no relation to the man who succeeded Wilson. Some other names are  G. William Miller, Arthur f. Burns, William M. Martin and Thomas B. McCabe. 3. Jack Kerouac’s famous book was “On the Road”.

We have all traveled down that road, with many forks along the way. Everybody picks one of them and some look back and regret decisions. But, they are learning moments we can pass along to other generations, if they would listen to us.

Life is about roads taken, and what you do when moving upon them.

When somebody points a nuclear warhead at you, political bickering seems to become pretty insignificant.

National Biscuit and Gravy Week! Are you kidding me!
