For All Stars:
I’d
write today of fluffy clouds, or of purple-red late
fall skies. I’d feel the special beauty of the new autumn sun low in the sky;
birds squawking. flapping wings as south they fly. But is it too soon to think
of God’s quiet good? I saw the faces of families loved, who now have died. I
saw in the neighbor’s eyes, in strong men and women, breaking down to cry. Is
here ever a time to move on, from madmen’s black clouds? Beneath frail words I
write today, are those eyes that cannot see, the fluffy clouds, or purple-red
late fall skies.
I
know I am getting older when suddenly I find myself
a little reluctant to jump upon he back of
a grocery cart, and whiz on by.
Wasn’t
it great to watch a couple of deplorables grab a rifle and
jump in a pickup to chase down a madman until he crashed and died?
Now
some people are calling for locks on church doors.
There is something that just bothers me about locking in the spirit of love. I
had a similar reaction when I had to begin locking my home doors. Maybe we’re
putting locks in the wrong places. How about locking monsters in cages? How about
doing away with all of the lenient new sentencing
rules?
The
Question:
Name five of the most popular Country music couples?

The
best way to spell totalitarianism could easily
be S-a-u-d-i. When you look closely, here’s a country with no protective constitution
where monarchy can simply use the word “Corrupt” to unseat the governing
leaders It drifts back to medieval England, when but a select few literally had
control over the heads of adversaries and annoyances. Aren’t we glad we have
laws.
The
new Baseball Hall of Fame veterans committee has named 10 modern
era ball players as candidates for the Hall in the 2018 vote: They are Steve
Garvey, Tommy John, Don Mattingly, Marvin Miller Players Union boss), Jack
Morris, Dale Murphy, Louis Tiant, Ted Simmons and the great Alan Trammel. Ok,
which one would you pick? See my choices at the end.
You
have to wonder how many men there like the guy arrested
yesterday outside the White House who said he wanted to kill all white police?
Is his fervor a result of the NFL kneeling thing? And how many more of them are
their like him out there?
On
The Voice Last Night the latest local RI favorite Emily
Luthor sang the hell out of Pink’s “Glitter in the Air”. Probably the best
performance of the night, despite some other decent efforts. Like especially
Keisha Renee and Noah Mac. I personally liked two who were sent home, Anna
Catherine Hart and Whitney Fenimore. Would have liked seeing more of both of
them, Moriah who defeated Whitney will run out of steam. Another loser,
Katherina Feigh was better than a couple who get to hang around. Brook Simpson
got raves, but she was too loud for me. But, the good news is that Emily Luthor
is local, and she is also really, really good. I may have to buy a “Pink” album.
Does that make me sick?
The
silly people of H-Wood always have something to say
at the time of tragedies. Frankly it looks at times to me as them seeing an
opportunity for image scrubbing public relations.
The
question of the day: How do maniacs like Paddock and Kelley get
their hands on guns? The same way people destined to OD on Opioids get their
hands on drugs. Drugs have been banned forever, it seems, but we are still
fighting that war without results. Banning is not an answer. Getting control of
people is.
There
was a horrible crime in RI about 30 years or so ago.
A guy named Craig Pierce, 13 years old, murdered four people in his suburban
neighborhood. Two were mothers, neighbors, in their homes. One mother was
playing with two daughters 7 and 8. He killed hem two. He was tried as juvenile
and received a minimal sentence. Perhaps he should have been found criminally insane
and sent away forever. Forget “perhaps”. He should have. Ever since, prosecutors
have been extending his sentence due to violent activity in prison But he is
due to get out in two years, I believe. Does this make sense to you? That’s one
of the bigger problems we have. Courts being kind to monsters.
Speaking
of gun sales, Trump is looking like a garms salesmen
on an international sales trip.
It’s
tough to create an accurate report on the new tax plan.
Some quarter of every interested group, in including all of the opposing party and
interparty sentiments in Congress, have announced something they don’t like
about it. I’ll just wait.
There’s
a lot of rumbling about Disney taking over Fox. Of
course, conservatives were apoplectic thinking that Micky Mouse would be guiding
the only decent Cable news station, Fox News. But, FNS is not part of the deal.
If
Dems are the working man’s party, how come so many Dems are
wall Street execs? Are they all managing union pension plans?
Will
underground Pot sales grow faster as retail pot prices
soar?
The
Answer:
Faith Hill and Tim Mc Graw, Trisha Yearwood-Garth Brooks,
Brittany Kerr-Jason Aldean, Morgan Hayes-Chris Stapleton, Amy Grant-Vince Gill
Johnny Cash-June Carter, Joey and Rory Feek.
Even
though Don Mattingly is a Ya-Ya, he was really good in field
and in hitting. The knock against him was that his career was stopped short. But
it was beautiful career that made him one of the top players of an entire era.
Tommy John should make it because he has a surgery named after him. I personally
loved Alan Trammel. Steve Garvey was a little
too glitzy for me, but he was clutch. The people up here love El Tianto, but
his numbers are not as great as most hall members, but he was fun to watch!
