Today's Tids Issue

For Bowed Heads in Loving Prayer.
I
didn’t know how to say something special about
Las Vegas, and I am even more stunned this morning about little the black clouds
of hate hanging over Sutherland Springs Texas. My eyes are blank just thinking
of a congregation, heads bowed in in loving contentment, feeling the love of God
in their hearts...and then the shots, the horrifying killing sounds. In a moment,
27 are bloodied, lifeless. Their souls now in the hands of a comforting God. I
can’t express the sorrow of a community torn apart, but I will try to feel it.
There
is something special about a friendly look from across a crowded
room. Especially when you are a shy introvert like me looking for comfort in a
sea of strangers at a cocktail party.
A
letter writer to the newspaper got it right. He
couldn’t understand why media reports about an Islamic mass killer always included
the line “(X-Madman) was inspired by ISIS.” “Inspired?” He asked. “I have a better
word,” he said. “Perverted – (X Madman) was perverted by ISIS.” Makes sense to
this illiterate.
One
of the most fruitless endeavors is trying to keep
things as they were. The Internet for today’s youth is as natural and as adjunctive
to their life style as it was for people of my age walking to the corner drug
store for a Brown Cow. Now, this doesn’t mean I’m ceding to the youth that everything
they glom onto is good. For one I don’t understand giving away your private life
on Facebook. Nor, is tweeting out nonsense, acidic insults and irrelevancy to
be hysterically accepted by mushy brains. Things are too fast these days, too
many people on fast tracks trying sell stuff you don’t need. Too many daily
assaults on the brain. I like a lot about the internet, but I just wish it
could be tempered. Actually, I feel really good about todays’ life when I realize
there are plenty of kids accomplishing a lot that doesn’t involve cell phones,
and actually do see the pleasantries of times gone by.
I
think the word “The” in “The Ohio State” lost a bit of its
luster last Saturday.
Probably,
one of the countries watching closest the progress of Trump’s
Asia trip is Iran. Iran, which BTW just test fired a Ballistic missile across
Arabia, is gaging what the Prez and allies do to NK. (We all know there are
Iran/NK ties). So, if the potential threat from NK wasn’t enough, Saudi
considers the Iran Ballistic Missile “An Act of War”. Amateur hour for people
not getting along has just gone professional.
“Don’t
worry about the world coming to an end today. It’s
already tomorrow in Australia.” Charles Schultz

Hey,
did you notice that this is Tids Issue 3,990! Yikes, Zowie,
Holy Cow and all of those crazy expletives. Only ten days for the creative department
plana suitable celebration.
Here’s
something I don’t understand. Cloud is said to be a Free
service, yet Microsoft continues to report booming new revenue based on the Cloud.
Tatum
O’Neill is 54 years old. She’s just a kid in a movie called
Paper Moon, isn’t she?
Is
there such a thing as Progressive or Conservative AI? And,
do you know how your stock broker’s AI is trained?
Why
can’t the Patriots find young back up QB’s like Goff and
Wentz? Or Jacoby Brissett?
I
tend not to watch movies or TV programs where the
title is in silver, 3D, block letters.
Reason
#1,037 why Trump should not Ad Lib and try to be cute:
Yesterday he said to Abe, “Why don’t you build cars in America instead of
shipping them over?” Honda has been doing it since the early to med 80’s,
followed quickly by Toyota, Nissan and others. It was necessary to get around tariff
requiring a certain percentage of American content in assembled -- manufactured
parts from local Japanese or American factories. The Japanese companies have
invested about $40 Billion in US factories and employ more than one million those
plants or created jobs in American supplier plants. American car makers have
been building plants in Mexico and elsewhere.
Do
you think the NEA is educating teachers on training
AI machines? I think we need a national constitution for AI, so that ideas of
all sides are properly represented. Will AI Robots be running for the AI
congress? It could get really weird.
Hollywood
sanctimonious elitists continue to sink to new lows,
often inexplicable to regular people. In response to Paul Ryan’s “…The people
of Sutherland Springs need our prayers.”, actor Wil Wheaton wrote, “The
murdered victims were in Church. If prayers did anything, they’d still be alive
your worthless sack of sh--!” Why does one feel he can pile his personal hate upon
the bodies of the innocently slain? Nice, H-Wood is full of great role models
for our youth and naive.
By
the way, Wheaton spells his first name with one “l”. Cute.
And,
tell me again why we are supposed to think immediate tweeting
of insults is somehow good for a society?
A
piece on TV news last night illustrated the progress on
installing sun panel farms in Puerto Rico. In a humanized ending they
interviewed a woman in a small village. “This is good for us because as a Caribbean
island, we get sun 365 days a year.” Say what? Do they pull down a big shade on
the rest of the non-island world to block the sun?
The
Kaepernick suit against the NFL teams for collusion is a great
example why no team has made an offer to the former Superbowl hero. In addition
to the fact that football experts say he has lost his fastball, no team wants a
media circus surrounding the operations. This a classic example of there “is no
I in team”. So while the myopic will say
poor Colin, the last thing a rational coach wants is a cog.
The
Answer:
Peter Blair Denis Bernard Noone was Herman In Herman’s
Hermits, the classic British rock group, who I thought were somewhat silly; You
have seen the face of Robert Patrick many times over the years often playing the
evil doer in a host films and TV programs especially as the chief antagonist in
Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Currently he leads the super Brainiac’s on the TV
show Scorpion., Andrea McArdle hit the stardom trail running playing Annie in
the iconic Broadway show. BTW, McArdle replaced the Orgincal Annie Kristen Vigard.
She was the youngest person ever nominated for Tony; If you remember Judy Reyes
I’s because you laughed at her playing Nurse Carla Espinosa on Scrubs. She is
currently in the TNT comedy “Claws”. Curin Nemec has been innumerous TV and
Film Roles. He was Noble Tucker In a pretty good film “Tucker: The Man and His
Dreams, and probably best known as Parker Lloyd Lewis in Parker Lewis Can’t
Lose.
As
a lone guitar plays softly on a dusty hillside, I hear a town
singing to God -- Take and nurture our fallen. Help us all understand that even
with our differences there is love in every person’s heart that can bind us as
one. Let Sutherland be the Springs of hope.
See
you
tomorrow.
