Today's Tids Issue 4,486
Shiffless Weekend:
Jane: I see happy
people.
Dick: I see smiles on faces of people looking
forward to a nice weekend.
Jane: I see people gong to autumn country fairs.
Dick: I see people getting mad on golf courses.
Jane: I see lovers walking hand in hand on deserted
beaches.
Dick: I see people fuming because more roads are closed
in Rhode Island.
Jane: I see you and me sitting closely side by side with
breezes blowing through our hair; salty ocean spray upon our faces.
Dick: I didn’t know you used semi colons.
Politics has
become much too pervasive in American life.
The gymnast’s work
on the asymmetrical bars was unparalleled.
If Americans are looking
for a kinder, gentler nation, I don’t see it coming from Democrats. At least
that’s what I gathered while observing the vitriol from several Congressional inquisitors
yesterday. And…I’m not even talking about the big one.
Actually,
I’d like to declare the Tids an “Impeachment Free Zone”. You know, a place
where people can come and enjoy without running out for Tums when it’s over.
But, that could be
difficult, when everything is about impeachment and not living gently among people
day to day.
I think IPO
enthusiasm is waning.
At the time of the Clinton
Impeachment, Gerry Nadler said that the nation will be suspicious if we seek to
overthrow an election, and it will divide the country for years to come
The Question:
Fleabag was a big winner at the Emmy’s. What do you
think are considered the best British TV comedy series ever?

fashioned Way.”.

If anybody would ask me,
I would prefer seeing more of our governmental energy being focused on combatting
cybercriminal activity and defending the country against cyber warfare.
Here’s an offcial Tids salute
to former ICE Chief Mike Homan for standing up against the bullying, the belittling
interrogation from yet another congressional committee for firmly placing the blame
for any crisis at borders squarely upon congressional inaction. For telling the
truth that is never heard. He said rather than “Political Theater” for TV
cameras, enact. He explained clearly that the agency “rescued hundreds of women
from sex trafficking, saved thousands of children from child predators, and seized
enough opioids in one year to kill every man, woman and child in the country
twice.”
And…similar kudos to
Vicki Porter who quickly, and gently put aggressive Congress woman Talib in her
place after the congress woman tried to intimidate and ridicule the witness.
The glitz, fire and rampaging
from stage to stage at the next super bowl halftime will be in the hands of a
female duo – JLo and Shikira. JLo says she wants to fly. Regardless, I’ll be at
the fridge.
That Congresswoman
Talib is one nasty sounding woman.
I have an apology to make.
A couple of days ago in a Tidlet called “First Impressions” I, after seeing
Greta Thurnberg for the fist time, said she looked like one scary dude. I likened
her to maniacal killer doll, Chucky. But I have since learned that she is
Asberger’s. She said, “I have Asberger’s, I’m on the autism spectrum, so I don’t
really care about social codes that way.” She said her Neurodiversity makes her
think different…”. While hyperfocused on certain stimuli, Asberger’s are able
to reject other stimuli. It’s better to have all the facts before blurting, and
I didn’t.
I think that college professors
are supposed to be smarter than the average person. If so, why can’t they
figure out how to translate their convoluted writings in to simple sentences that
people can actually understand their positions. Or is confusion just part of the
academic mystique.
A solution to the vaping
thing seems complicated to me.
You know,
there are a lot of quotes out there from 1998 Dems against Clinton’s impeachment
which are exactly the same as Repub quotes today. One says that pursuing impeachment
will only serve to create a revenge society. The merry-go-round just keeps on spinning
and its only the people sitting on the horses that change. Political revenge is
the new national abdication. And it is killing America.
Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
I always liked Judy Garland and rooted for her during
her many relapses. So I am inclined to go to the new film “Judy” starring Renee
Zellweger. It is tough to ask any actor to step into the ruby red shoes of the entertainer
Judy Garland. The film seems to dwell more on her accomplishments than
failures, on her innate wit and charm, and of course music that will send the
proverbial shivers down the spine.
--Abominable is the Animated feature of the week and
it is Ok, but not great. Although audiences will probably love it Yi and her musical
friends find a young Yeti on the roof
her apartment, and name him Ernest and go out and try to reunite the
magical intruder with his family far away.
--The Death of Dick Long is a black comedy, they
say. Its about the death of friend after band practice at home. They decide not
to report the death, but one of the bandsman’s wives and daughter become suspicious.
I believe it could be hard to follow and perhaps harder to enjoy.
--The Day Shall Come appears to be an anti-Homeland Security
pic about setting up a popular black preacher as a terrorist. Supposedly funny
and well done.
After a busy day,
plumbers are usually drained.
The Answer:
Number one is Faulty Towers. Next is Backadder followed
by Monty Python’s Flying Circus, The IT Crowd, Are You being Served, Keeping Up
Appearances, Black Book. The Office, The Inbetweeners and at #10 Father Ted.
Fleabag was #14. Personally, I liked Benny Hill.
“I’d like to teach
the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I’d like to hold it in my arms,
And keep it company
I’d like to build the world a home
And furnish it with love.
Grow apple trees and Honey bees
And snow-white turtle doves.”
What! No Cheetos?
Have a great weekend,
E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
