Mitigation Revolution?:
Sometimes you go places where life looks quite normal. And you think, is this Covid thing really happening, or is it just overwhelming news and government reports that makes it look real. Then you return from a walk by the quiet waters or aa jaunt on a golf course and you read that there are once again new deaths and new cases and new hospitalizations. You know that restaurateurs are getting real antsy now as they see once high revenue big summer events potentially passing them by. Hotels and inns and Air BnB’s wonder if they will be welcoming people to their get-away places. There will be a lot of people who will find ways not to believe the foreboding, hoping more than knowing that maybe we are back to normal after all. That we can forget about shutting down. But the fact is we are far from licking this killer, this indiscriminate maimer. But yesterday, I thought for a few hours that everything was as it always had been, and I felt good.
You can expect a lot of court cases being filed that would look to bar overreaching by governors. The Wisconsin SC ruling yesterday to opened the flood gates, followed by scenes of elbow to elbow, maskless Cheesehead revelers in local bars, which will surely ignite other state’s tavern owners to demand the same from their Governors.
The day before a breakthrough, it was a crazy idea.” –Peter Diamandis
While it appeared that demographers have been expecting a surge in births 9 months from now, it now seems that after a couple of weeks of home schooling that urge has been squashed.
Three putt greens should be banned.
The Question:
On the day Frank Sinatra died in 1998, a very good TV Sitcom had its final episode after nine successful years. What was it? Bonus: Name three movies form Director Robert Zemeckis.

If I published all of the conspiracy theories about virus and political assaults, I would be spending the rest of my life making corrections.
Include in that, all of the theories about why Tom Brady left the Patriots.
Actually, one of the toughest occupations these days is Sports Page Editor.
“Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend. Inside of a dog, it’s too dark to read.” – Mark Twain.
President Trump has a hard road ahead in his campaign for reelection. I’m sure he’ll be touting Greatest economy in history. For sure, I’d say. But mass voters these days don’t buy history. They react to the here and now. So, they will be looking at what is going on in September and October. If the NFL is playing on schedule, it may be favorable for him.
Two often-used phrases that have been wearing on my edgy nerves are, “That said” and “Good question”.
I guess Spell-Check doesn’t expect Trump to remain in office, because they still haven’t gone to the expense as offering Trump with a capital “T” as a spelling option, after three years. They are just waiting him out.
Remember last week when we had a bad unemployment report and the stock markets muscled through it? That was because they had convinced themselves they saw ahead a little light thorough the murkiness. Yesterday Powell turned off that light. But if you have reading below the optimism, those signs of serious scars and debilitating paralysis post Covid have been there all along. Powell just said it.
Under the new GHIN System (The system used to create golf handicaps to equate golfers) every golfer will have to hire an actuary. I have enough problems keep my head down when stinging. Now I’ll get a headache adding up my score.
I may give up golf in favor of having fun.
I just read four headlines about the new jobless claims. One said 3 Million (Wapo). One said nearly 3 Million (CNBC), Another said over 2.98 million (Fox Biz) and the fourth said 29.8 million (Yahoo News). As I have always advised you, go to the last paragraph to learn what the story is really about.
The Answer:
Actually, if you consider how may reruns, we keep on seeing you may not think that Seinfeld had its final episode on May 14 1998. Bonus: Robert Zemeckis first big hit that brought him to national fame was Romancing The Stone. He was also responsible for the favorites, Back to the Future and the technoeffects groundbreaker, Who Framed Roger Rabbit. But he won an Oscar for Forest Gump. After graduating from USC he sold himself to Steven Spielberg, who became his mentor.
Yes, we are entering that season of warmth and sunshine where I suspect more people will look for ways to justify not paying attention to Covid rules and suggestions and certainly for ways around Governor edicts. And most certainly business operator s in restricted states will be looking out enviously at freedoms in other states. Everybody will be watching case numbers.
To keep fit, my grandmother walks five miles a day. She’s 97 now, and we have no idea where she is.
