Sauerkraut.

Today's Tids Issue 4,771

Capitol meals:

“Sauerkraut. The wurst is yet to come.”.

Has the USA voted in the sauerkraut? You know the old joke about congress making laws. *

The way it looks now…there will definitely be a retabulating in Georgia. You can count on it.

Yesterday, Joe Biden decided he would make a speech on Covid. His final phrase in closing was, “Be Patient”. That’s the problem Joe, we don’t want to be a patient.

The Universe never ending: That’s always been a puzzler to me. I can imagine just about anything, but something never ending is beyond me.

Also a puzzler, is why Trump came out to speak during prime time news to say what he said, repeating that he won it easily if they stopped counting. Repubs I know said they sat there in dismay.

The Question:

Who were the last ten Actress Oscar winners?

The Headlines:

--Markets Ease Off Morning Lows After Surging Week.

--Yesterday Powell Says To Investors, We got Your Back; Analysts See Strong Corporate Profits Going Into Next Year Keeping Stocks Rising.

--States Adding New Restrictions And Curfews As Covid Infections Rise To Over 100,000/Day.

--Georgia Tipping To Biden; Biden Takes Narrow Lead In Pennsylvania; Secret Service Planning ramp Up For Biden Protection.

--Karen Lynch, 57, Will Be Named CEO Of Giant CVS Corporation; Will Replace Larry Merlo To Retire In 2021.

--Repub Lacemakers Fail To Rush To Trump’s Side To Support His Fraud Claims.

--Eta Leaves 50 Dead In Central America; Now Heading Towards Cuba And Florida.

--Russia Lawmakers Looking At Bill That Would Give Putin Lifelong Protection From Persecution.

I hope the first official act of incoming new CVS CEO Karen Lynch is to immediately order a cessation to those interminable telephone and text messages which are more confusing than helpful.

Indian summers don’t usually come in November, after I have put away all my summer clothes.

Remember when REIT’s were a good investment portfolio staple? It’s good to avoid habits in investments.

“Clear skies and wide eyes”, Department:

Did you read where there could be as many as 300 million “Earths” in this vast universe. That would be an earth style planet for half of the sun-like stars. That would mean millions of habitable planets, and some as close as 20 light years away. This is a real report based on solid new information based on the findings using the Kepler telescope, according to Jeff Coughlin, Director of Kepler’s Sconce Office. For instance, it has found rocky planets capable of supporting water about the same distance from a sun that is approximately the same age as ours. And much more. One planet was actually measured at 19.5 light years with four more in the 30 to 35 Light year range. The scientist are 95% certain their findings. Something to think about during your next Covid lockdown.

Just in case you are interested, a 30-year analysis of the economy and stock markets operating under presential gridlock show that Dem presidents in gridlock had a stock increase of 16.5 % and Repub Prez’s in gridlock had a stock decrease of 12.5%. Of course, there were two big negatives in those years were Bush’s, Dot.Com and 911 34% decline following the Clinton years, and Bush’s 42% decline preceding the Obama years. There is always skewing in research absolutes

I’m thinking that it would be a disaster if one of the elite passengers on the costly journey to Mars, came down with Covid, and the space ship crashed into the Red Planet, infecting it forever. Is there a good book in there somewhere?

If Walmart is lowering prices every day, why isn’t anything in the store free yet?

The Answer:

In 2010 Natalie Portman won for Black Swan. Going up to 2020 we have Meryl Streep for The Iron Lady, Jennifer Lawrence for Silver Linings Playbook, Cate Blanchett for Blue Jasmine, Julianne Moore for Still Alice, Brie Larson for Room, Emma Stone for La La Land, Frances McDormand for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, Olivia Coleman for The favorite and finally Renee Zellweger for Judy.  There are 7 actresses with 4 Oscars: Katherine Hepburn, Meryl Streep, Bette Davis, Ingrid Bergman, Jane Fonda, Elizabeth Taylor and Olivia de Haviland. Three actresses have had double digit nominations – MS with 17, KH with 12 and BD with 10.

Happy weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!

Stan Kenton was certainly one of the most creative of the musicians of the century. Here’s a great version of the 70’s classic Mac Arthur Park. Hope it helps you bounce lively into the weekend.
