Today's Tids Issue 5,000
Free at last:
Well, I did it…
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ…
Oops, I guess I just thought it was a good time to take a nap before starting 5,001.
Well after 5,000 entirely different titles of a daily Tids and Perhaps 7-8 Thousand Questions of the day The hardest part), and weeding out the hyperbole and prejudice of news stories to provide reasonable headlines, often ahead of TV and newspapers, we are at at five thousand and we see that it is a but an interim number between the beginning and the end. Something to write about for a week. Finding a new topic of interest every day to be presented hopefully in an entirely new way is a challenge for sure Some mornings I see a white screen ad it is agony filling it. And some days interesting entertaining stuff flies happily through my fingers t you.
But, with all the stats and all the words and all the notes taken made undecipherable by my handwriting that never made it, the only thing that makes something like this work is somebody on the other side of these keys reading it. If not, it is just another tree falling in the forest all over again.

The Question.
Name five things that irritates the chief Tids writer.
The Headlines:
The Tids Word Manufacturing Company produces its Five Thousandth Issue. Stock market Yawns.
It's hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.
The key to life is lines brightly painted on country roads.
The problem with the Journalism industry is that they all think they are right.
Today I was just going to give a few short quips, say thanks for reading, and leave for the day. But, The Tids Pickers never rest. Last week we were 11-5, losing a couple of so-called easy picks. that’s the problem with NFL picking, you never know which sure thing loser is going to wake up for one game. We are now 21-11 (66%) and not off to the greatest start. Today, every game even those between the lesser lights, is a possible upset. Except perhaps The Cardinals over the Jax and the Broncos over the Jets ( the Baptism of Zach Miller is not going to get any more enlightening against Von Miller).
Ok let’s go through the rest. The Panthers have looked good at home but will they continue it on the road tonight against the Texans. I think they will. The Colts are really hungry, but so are the Titans who may be the better team, and they are at home. I’ll go with Vrabel’s team. While up here in Pat’s land we are generally happy with our new QB Jones, we still have to prove ourselves. How good are the Saints, is also another question? I’ll take my home town edge and stick my neck out for my beloveds. Or is that my heart? Which 0-2 team, Giants or Falcons will win this one. The Giants are at home, and I’ll go with that. But not feeling comfortable. The Browns should beat the Bears in a tough battle. The Chiefs have chinks, but the Chargers have more. KC to bounce back. Washington’s so-called good D hasn’t looked it and the good Bills team is wakig up again. The Bills take it. The Ravens proved something Sunday night, and the Lions didn’t o Monday. Lamar Jackson is good. Go Ravens. I kind of like where the Bengals are going, but I’ll stick with the dreaded Steelers at home. I am also in impressed with the Raiders so far. The Dolphins are a little beat up but they will put up a good fight and lose. Seattle is a bit of mystery and the Vikes are not showing too much except that they really need a win. But I’ll go Seahawks. GB against the Niners is one of the two big games this week. I think they are beatable on any given Sunday, and SF is at home. The Niners’ I a squeaker. On Monday night we have a good game mainly because it is two historic rivals Eagles and Cowboys. I’m liking Dallas all of a sudden. The really big game is supposed to be the only real test this year for SB Champs, the Bucs, against the improved LA Rams. I’m picking the Rams.
One of my favorite short puns to have appeared in these 5K issues: “England doesn't have a kidney bank, but it does have a Liverpool.”
The left is the most intolerable group of humans on the planet. That was told to me once by a college professor who sees it ever every day, and it was brought home this morning when I read that for the 2022 elections, a progressive political operation in RI is targeting in the Dem primaries the most progressive sitting legislators in the RI statehouse. They eat their own because they cannot see.
The Answer:
#1 is People who litter. It’s a pretty basic test of a civilized society. #2 -- The cancellation craze of today. #3 – Pedestrian entitlement. #4 – Affirmative action over merit. #5 – Turning basically non-events into national discussions and then a threat to humanity above all threats to humanity. #6 – Celebrities. #7 – Media picking sides. #8 Blind following over rational thoughtfulness.
I’ll be back tomorrow. I will continue to watch for human foibles and political squabbles, and the incessant babbles of loons flying around our purple mountain majesties. I’ll praise the doers and fret about the takers. And hope someday we all wake up to the fact that a more people in this great country this very minute doing the right thing, working hard, caring together to build a solid foundation. That unity would prevail over miner disagreements. tat we would listed before taking sides. That the strength of commonality would overcome those who would divide and disestablish. I am a American who believes in our glorious past who never gives up on the promise of a brilliant future. I believe that Men and women are fundamentally different. But both are great and equal. I believe in love, and I believe in thing out of the proverbial box. I believe we should stop every once in a while, and watch colorful flowers blowing soft breezes. And I believe that if I keep on writing long enough, someday I may start editing for typos too.
Stop one day and throw two rocks into a quiet sea or a glistening lake and watch the ripples grow into interlocking rings, and just contemplate the effect of two rings never before seen in those waters. growing together. Perhaps touching distant shore.
If the pic above didn’t open, go to the on-line version of The Tids for that and few other “5000” pics. It’s called World View: etc!, and can eb found at http://worldviewetc.blogspot.com/
