Fairness:
Are journalists of The Washington Post and NY Times the peers of Kyle Rittenhouse?
It bothers me that Wisconsin is calling out the National Guard to protect Kenosha in the event that justice is achieved but not the justice presumed from the original misreporting of the case of Kyle Rittenhouse. This is becoming a serious problem in the USA where courts can and the juries can be intimidated by marshaled together activist forces who feel threatened by the truth.
Signs of the Times, Department:
On Saturday I was at a Ralph Loren Outlet in Kittery Maine thinking I might look for a sport jacket to add to my forty-year-old favorites. I couldn’t find one so I asked the clerk where they were. He said we don’t sell suits, sport jackets or ties anymore because nobody was buying them. How sad is that. Dressing neatly used to be a sign of respect for other people. Or maybe I’m just getting old and don’t know any better.
The “Taker versus Maker”, Department:
You have to love the new battle of words between Elon Musk and Bernie Sanders. Musk is winning.

Last year, of all places, Idaho was listed as the state that poses the highest risk of having a fatal car crash. Among the lowest risk states was California. Which means, if you are stuck in traffic jams you are basically safe.
I like Pete Buttigieg coming out saying that drivers still have to pay attention while in self-driving cars. It is unique in this era of creeping socialism that you hear government officials talking about personal responsibility. Are you sure Pete isn’t a Repub?
“Federal agents say Thomas Randele, who was using the name ‘Theodore John Conrad’ while working as a bank teller at a Society National Bank in Cleveland, walked out of the bank at the end of one of his shifts in 1969 with $215,000, or the equivalent of about $1.7 million today.” Who’s next, D.B. Cooper?
Today in the year1972, the DOW reached the unheard-of market peak of 1,003! People were dumbfounded. Up over 1000 points since its inception in 1896, 76 years earlier. Now just 49 years later it is today at 36,160! 76 years -- +1003 points; 49 years -- +35,157 points. Double yikes!
In case you are interested, the original 1896 Dow had only 12 stocks compared today’s 30. The originals were: -- American Cotton Oil, American Sugar, American Tobacco, Chicago Gas, US Rubber, US Leather Pfd., Tennessee Coal & Iron, North American National Lead. Laclede Gas, Distilling & Cattle Feeding and last but not least, General Electric (It lost its spot in 2019, and just this week became smaller.).
A woman asks, “If working people are getting fired and losing their source of income for not being vaccinated, what is happening to people who get food stamps and welfare checks? I haven’t heard anything about that, have you,” She ponders.
The Answer:
Rolling Stone Mag has as number one for Abba – Dancing Queen. Going up to #10 we have, Take a Chace on Me, Winner Takes it All, Waterloo, Fernando, I do I do I do I do, S.O.S, Knowing me Knowing You, The Name of the Game and When all is Said and Done.
I know you all are dancing queens and kings, ad winners who have taken it all, and there is something special about Fernando. But, I like Chiquitita, which wasn’t on the list.
