Government in Wonderland:
Why do cows have bells? Because their horns don’t work.
Apparently with the high-tech missiles around today, a surface Navy is more vulnerable than ever, and frankly, quite easily destroyed according to some super knowledgeable observers. All focus will be on undersea capabilities. Russia has already fired test hypersonic missiles form subs. Our adversaries getting scarier. Are we still capable of being a nuclear deterrent nation?
Research among Gen-Z’ers (15-25) says they are reluctant to have children because of fears from Climate change effects. Kids have been getting Climatized in school, in kids TV and movies, and by the constant shouts of pols and advocates almost all their lives. Somebody has to tell them there is much more to life than worrying about prognostication of something possibly inherent to a universal system of morphing they can’t control. That missing out on having children is a far greater tragedy. Stop the fear mongering for political gain and power retention.
Today is the sixtieth birthday of one of my favorite people ever. How great is that! Editors are allowed to write about their own happiness. It’s the way I get paid.

A friend of mine Ken Dooley has written many a book ad several plays. He has written the definitive book on Red Auerbach as well incisive books on the brightest military and global strategist’s minds. And much more. He is funny and full of energy. His new book is “Dooley Noted”, a look at the amazing accomplishments and perhaps humorous incidents about people he has met, as told as only this delightful raconteur could. He will eb signing books at Providence RI’s Beatrice Hotel Sunday, May 5. I have only allowed this crass commercial announcement to appear here because all proceeds go to charity. Besides, Ken is great guy.

The Answer:
I liked S&G especially in their early years. But I found some of their later songs (MaiNly when Simon broke away, were like finger nails scratching on a blackboard. Kodachrome comes to mind. #19 0s For Emily, Whenever I find Her. #9 is I Am a Rock, followed by Scarborough Fair, The Only Living Boy in New York, Mrs. Robinson. The top five begins with Cecelia, and then we have America, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, The Boxer, and The Sound of Silence is #1. What, no parsley, sage? For Emily, Whenever I find Her is a pretty cool title.
Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
