Smiling within.

Today's Tids Issue 5,894

The Great Ones:

It was a good ole time with the Grand Ole’ Opry last night. A little country is always good for the soul.

Speaking of little countries with no soul, we attacked Venezuela yesterday. And won. Was that bigger than the 1983 battle of Granada?

I find that when a grey cloud creeps in I just work harder to find that sun that's always shining there.

How many therapists does it take to change a lightbulb?
Only one, but the lightbulb has to want to change.

The Question:

Name your ten best Robert Redford Movies.

The old-fashioned Google was much kinder than new condescending AI Google, and certainly more helpful in many aspects.

Yesterday I wrote about how you should never leave an NFL game early because with the immense talent of today's athletes it's never over until the final second. Last night I wrote off the Bucs and it wasn't over as Baker Mayfield dug down deep to pullout a victory in the last second. Listen to yourself.

Maduro was awful for his Venezuelan people. His closest pals are  American adversaries China and Russia. Yet his condemnation of the US action will get plenty of sympathy around the world, and yes even here from anti -Trumpers. The way of the world is to be against something.

If we resort to the National Emergency gimmick too often, we'll be the Chicken Little: nation, Or are we already there.

There are signs that Socialism could be the way of the USA future over capitalism. One reason is because younger generations are redefining the word Socialism.

What do wealthy parents say when they tickle their babies? Gucci, Gucci, Goo.

When I pick a movie or song to enjoy it is never because of teh politics of the actor or singer. It is the plot or the tune.

I should be outside taking advantage of this beautiful weather. But that means Id actually have to do something.

I've always been happy I’ve had a bit of those Gaelic smiles within my heart.

My guy Chase Eliot had a lot of trouble at last week’s Bristol NASCAR Championship event. Bristol reduced the playoff field from 16 to 12 with Chase falling 7 after a late crash that left him in 38th place a last weekend. He needs a strong Finnish next weekend. Christopher Bell made a big leap forward to #4. The rest of the final top twelve are Hamlin, Byron, K. Larson, Blaney, Briscoe, Eliott, Wallace, Cindric, Logano, Chastain and Reddick. Chase needs a win.

I think I need a haircut. I was walking through a parking lot after golf yesterday and a woman came up to me and said, “I'm a barber and you definitely need help.

The Answer:

Redford and my politics were at odds but how can I forget him in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting and All the President's Men. I liked Three Days of the Condor a lot, He was good in The Candidate, I really got into The Natural. Casual Redfordian came through in Barefoot in the Park, Sneakers and Downhill Racer. Many remember The Way we Were.  And I also liked Out of Africa and Legal Eagles. Indecent Proposal was considered eye opening to many. I never saw it. There are so many, maybe everybody has a favorite. He made 53 almost all worth seeing.

Reminiscing about country music is relaxing, It tends to get to your heart. Here's one that I can't get out of my head,
