The Zoo:
A week from today will be the eve of election day. How much crazier can it get. In desparation politics, nothing can surprise you anymore.
The two most watchable NFL teams, San Fran and KC were both dumped from the unbeaten ranks yesterday. What we are seeing this year are the handfuls of the best players college money can buy moving across all tesms in the big leagues and that the margins of difference are not quite as large as records may project. That even those so-called bad teams are learnig how to play with each otther as the season wears on.
BTW, and Saturday scores reveal it is the same in College as big money disperses the beat players across a wider spectrum of teams and leagues. It seems like the best HS players are saying: You may be a great coach in a cool school, with a big trophy case and lots of tradition, but what are you going to pay me.
I'm thinking that the "Open Concept" homes are not very efficient at controlling heating costs.
A good old friend wrote yesterday to tell me she is 92 now. She said she thinks she got there because last year she turned off the news.

I woke up one morning and all my stuff was stolen during the night and replaced with exact duplicates. --Stephen Wright.
The US is quite the amazing country when you consider how low they are on the homogeneous scale. After all in China the people are Chinese, In Japan, Japanese, in France French, in Poland Polish... you get the picture. In the US thee four dominant heritage groups are German (41 M ) English (31), Irish (31), Italian (16) and Polish (8). That's about 36% of the population. And those historic immigrant groups don't include the fastest growing Asian and Hispanic communities. And of course there are multiple differences in those two major thnic groups which broaden US differentiation. So, we are the globe all by ourselves and somehow we remain united by a concept written by founders centuries ago. Not by how we look or talk, but how we achieve together. And understand the meaning of what we have. We must strive to keep it that way .
