Today's Tids Issue 3,294
Opening Stuff:
Surely
one of the great little joys of life is not having to wear shoes and socks.
I
loved Netanyahu’s opening line to his speech to an
Israel support group yesterday, “Never has so much been written about a speech
that has yet to be given.”
Wouldn’t
you think that a gourmet bakery in the south would make really exceptional
biscuits? I guess the concept of biscuits is just beneath some people.

The
Nasdaq reached the 5000 mark yesterday, and immediately
images of the DotCom crash filled the heads of investors. Fortunately, Nasdaq is
significantly more diversified and not built of stocks measured by burn rates.
The DotCom bonanza was a complete fairytale, more academic theory than
reality.. Today’s tech billionaires have learned how to put meat on the their
fantasies.
There’s
been a lot of talk about the Clinton’s nefarious
contributors of big money to their fund. This is the stuff of political junkies
and Repubs are gleefully rhapsodizing about the consequences of the dirty deed
upon The Hill’s campaign. Of course, the vast majority of the potential Clinton
voters have no idea about what the angst is all about, nor do they have any
real interest in learning. In the minds of fans, the ugliness has no baring on
the fact that she is a woman and a member of the give-away party.
McCafe
may produce the best aroma upon opening the
package of all of the coffees I have tasted lately. And it tastes very good
too. Mickie D is in the coffee business and putting out very good coffee at
lower prices than the fancy brands. I’m a fan.
The
graphic designer wet dream packaging for all of these
chic cutely named coffees are actually brilliantly executed and must be attractive
to the buyer, making decisions difficult. The problem is, to me, that cans are much
better way to store coffee, and the wider top is certainly significantly more convenient
for scooping.
I
was moderating a session on International Current
Events a few days ago. One of the forty of fifty people asked the question:
“How can 20,000 ISIS militants control 2,000,000 in Mosul. I said probably for
the same reason that only about half of Americans vote in presidential years
and about 1/3 in off year elections, most don’t care. They aren’t tuned in.
Just leave me alone and Ill do what you want.
The
newest report on least friendly states for business
are the worst, Louisiana, followed by West Virginia, Kentucky, Mississippi,
Alabama, Hawaii, New Mexico Oklahoma, Rhode Island and Tennessee. RI is moving
up in the world.
The
Answer:
Judith Scheindlin, also known as Judge Judy makes
$47 Mil a year. Yikes! She just resigned for 3 more years and expects to go on
til 2020. I watch.
How
come down south everything is decorated with palm
trees when up north where we have the magnificent Maple, stately Elm and mighty
Oak – all by far more beautiful than the spindly palm – and we don’t put them
on anything.
Today
kicks off the opening of the Grapefruit League baseball season.
Crack! I love the sound of the bat chitin the ball! Life is good again.
And
I say, keep it slow. Too much of life is run by the clock,
and baseball lets you drift.
