Today's Tids Issue 3,287
Opening Stuff:
This “I hate you” attitude
that seems to be permeating society has got to stop. Do people really understand what
hate means? Does passionate abhorrence or extreme loathing sound like what most
people carry in their hearts for others? Yet somehow intensity of disliking is
making the basically reasonable look extremely irrational. In politics, on the highway
and yes even in mindless diversions. For
instance, there is a rumor out today
that supposedly former major NY Jets official Kensil now with the league is the person who
initially pointed out a deflated ball and in order to keep the guns pointed at
the Pats, is continuing to release info about this toy with less air than usual
to ESPN and others. Can a jealousy of the Pats success create such bitterness?
But that is just a minor example of what
has become pervasive. Neighbors not liking something about somebody, working it
in to hatred. Kids seem to learn the word way to early life, and maybe its because
of the childish emotions that travel the internet have somehow have also
afflicted the very adults who should be guiding kids to see a more positive
picture of the human race. I guess I was taught so intensely that hatred was so
abhorrent, that I just can’t understand what’s going on. And, I started this rant because of a deflated
football.
What are stamp collectors
going to do
when email takes over completely?
BTW, I don’t hate vegetables, I
just think meat and gravy tastes incredibly better. Actually, Veggies don’t
taste too bad with chicken or beef or pork gravy on them. Lamb gravy too.
I like Beagles too. And little
kittens that look at me with biug eyes.
The Question:
The
Odds Makers are out with there ratings for best picture. What do the
professional odds makers have as the top five?

The Movie Black or White is much better than I
thought it would be. I am always leery going into movies where precocious
little kids are stars. But the 7 yo. girl played by Octavia Spencer is totally
likable as are Kevin Coaster and Paula
Newsom as the Judge. And they don’t overdo the black and white story.
People continue to use the
word “hate”
in conjunction with Wal-Mart. It’s only a store for crissake.
When visiting friends these
days up here, you drive between storm lulls, but always knowing that once you get
there, you may be staying an extra day or two. Going to dodge flakes today on
the way to Maine. Tomorrow’s Tids may come with frostbite.
Heard in 2115: You’re collecting what?
I really dislike people from other states having a
bigger share of my Congressional representatives and even Governors’ minds that
we the citizens here.. Do we want a Prez owned in part by Qtar, Indonesia,
France…et.al.? Was The Hill’s Secretary of State job really a campaign fund
raising excursion?
I have to admit, there is nothing prettier
than paintings focused on fruit. The rich colors and combinations of irregular shapes
perfectly arranged is always a treat for eyes. They almost look good enough to
eat, if they didn’t taste so bad.
How do people hate so intensely people they have never met?
Note to new Readers: I n a world full of
outrageous condemning claims and a sense of hatred for well adjusted snack food
eaters by nutritionists and vegetarians, the Tids editorial board has taken on
the burden of countering such cacophony with it’s own outrageous claims on the nutritional
benefits of crunchy food s in orange packages. The world needs balance and we are
hear to protect the pummeled.
When writing that Nestle
news item I
realized there are some creative companies that make a good living creating artificial
flavors. Hatred for artificial did it. Can you say buggy whip? Adjusting your
company for a future you don’t understand should be the primary objective of
all.
The Answer:
Surprisingly,
Birdman at 8/13 is number one beating out Boyhood at 13/8. The next three are
The Imitation Game 50/1, The Grand Budapest Hotel at 60/1 and American Sniper
66/1. Maybe t morrow we’ll do actors. I thought ridman was tedious.
I hate peas. I really do. I feel so bad
about it.
Love somebody today. I feels good.
