Today's Tids Issue 3,312
Opening Stuff:
Every
once in a while someone may promise something to come with
the assurance that it would be great. And when the promise is revealed and it truly
s exceptional, it is a special moment.
Speaking
of exceptional, opening day in the old ball park is
never a letdown. If you aren’t smiling at the end of the game from the pure and
simple enjoyment of new mown grass, the crack of the bat, daring dusty slides
and magnificent diving catches, then you should check into a coroner’s office.
You feel those memories of diamonds of yore carved out of rocky fields with
cardboard bases and taped bats and balls, and kids running the teams. Nothing says good bye to winter better than Opening
day.
First
come the crocuses, then endless yellow fields of daffodils.
Soon after that without warning the tourists arrive with traffic, crowded
sidewalks and litter. I hate the flowers in spring.
Most of today’s rhetoric simply reinforces the
hate of the angry, where it should bring understanding to the misinformed.
Communist nations have always kept their people uninformed, So, I guess in a
free speech country, misinformation is the main weapon of our elected self-serving
scoundrels who seem to like disruption over solutions. I think one of the
problems with people like Pelosi is that they are so empowered that have completely forgotten about civility towards real people.
The
Question:
What was the tragic event that occurred 47 years
to the day after Abe was assassinated? Bonus: Who published the first
dictionary?

Uh-Oh,
Department:
Hotel chains are booming and offering many new
brands mainly to satisfy the ravenous appetites of developers who want to
build, build, build before the Fed raises interest rates. The last time this
occurred was in the days leading up to the 2008 crash! Feeling good?
But,
if you want to jump into a world of great escape,
hit the series finale of “Justified” tonight. This is easily the fastest hour
on TV, and tonight some serious bad guys will be brought down, and our hero Raylin
Givens (Played by Tim Olyphant) will face a crazed quick-draw artist in a life
or death showdown. Will Eva live and become Raylin’s true love even though he
has a wife and kid in Florida? What about the sleazy DA who wants our star’s
head in a hangman’s noose? So many things to be revealed -- how can they do it
all in just one hour?
Carley
Fiorina has a great message that puts Hillary’s women’s
rights demagoguery in proper perspective – Real women don’t need government
assistance.
Russia
has opened the door to send missiles to Iran. I mean really
big, threatening missiles. Is this a scary scenario or what? And it seems to
have taken Kerry and partners by surprise. They are worried, but not as much as
Israel. It seems to me that Iran has decided to counter the “agreement framework”
with, “Go ahead. Bomb our nuke installations. See what we do next.”
Sadly,
I have learned that in the 80’s a good and quite an intelligent man, Dan
Quaile, was done in by the Repub hierarchy who in turn leaked it to be picked
up by an eager media and promoted by Dems. It’s how Repubs eat their own. The
same Repubs in power did the same thing undermining GHWB. I have written about
this before as you might remember – the Repub powerbrokers and supportive media
were the people who got Billy Clinton elected. Let’s hope the Repubs don’t do
the same thing to their own now, paving the way for Bill Clinton’s one and
only.
Speaking
of missiles, the Repub candidates seem to be
lobbing more towards Hillary than their own, which is a refreshing change. This
will work until the lead puppeteer see’s his guy losing and cuts the strings.
One
of my favorite chief political advisors sent me a pic with the
caption, “Dems hold rally for Hillary Clinton”. The pic shows a beach with a
crowd of people on their knees, and heads firmly implanted in sand. How true is
that!
The
Voice hit some high notes again last night with
excellent performance s by Kimberly, Rob and Meaghan. (Note: As the season matures I go
to first names.) I still think Sawyer is the best, even as he made a bit of an
error last night, which because of his youthful professionalism may have made
the song better. There is something intrinsic in Koryn Hawthorne that I like, and last night
she proved to be one ths best on the stage. Mia Z is amazing, really, she is – and
she sounds like a seasoned star at just 16. Tough, she needs to ove away from
her blues singing in order to truly compete for the prize. I have liked Joshua
Davis, but his range may limit him. India let me down a bit last night. I
thought she had been unstoppable, at least to the final three. They should all stay.
That leaves just four from which to pick two to go. Well first, Brian is just mediocre
and I see no reason to keep him. Some experts think Corey Kent only hits about 60%
of his notes, but the screaming teenies will keep him in there. I personally would
pick Deanna to stay because I just like listening to the timber of her voice.
Hannah with the serial killer eyes probably did enough to stay, but she is
looking pretty average compared to the rest. The chances are that Brian and Deanna
will go, but I would prefer Brian and Corey Kent. Long shot to go from the Tids
music Guys – India.
BTW,
keep the singers out of “The Pit”. You can’t see them and the song get’s
drowned out by the hand waving and hubbub.
When
you think about it, with the anointing of The Hill, good Democrat
folks may have had their freedom to choose taken from them.
If
the people really knew what really transpired in the underbelly
of the government and saw the immorality
and lack of common decency in the hearts of many Pols, the stock to buy would be
Elon Musk’s SpaceX Mars Voyage. See news
item above.
The
Answer:
47 years after and to the day that Abraham Lincoln
was shot, the Titanic hit an iceberg. Bonus:
Noah Webster published the first dictionary in 1828. I never read it.
