Simple and nice.

Today's Tids Issue 3,365
Opening Stuff:

Did you ever think we’d get to this point when the media is selecting the president? There used to be criticism over smoke filled halls and back room deals that gave us the candidates. But, at least then, the people voted them in. Now the protected press creates illusions about the candidates they want and badgers those they don’t.

American is becoming as soft as a marshmallow. And that goes to S’mores, too. I noticed yesterday something called a “S’mores accessories kit”. I always thought a S’mores accessories kit was a twig and a campfire. Silly, outdated me. God help us.

The Question:
A farmer is walking to market carrying a nice plump pheasant. On the way he sees two healthy turkeys in a shrub beside the road. He is tempted to drop the pheasant and catch them. What should he do?

The Headlines:
--Strong Durable Goods Orders Data Pushes Up Stocks; 10,000th Near Greek Debt Solutions Elates Investment Community.
--US To Put Tanks And Other Military Equipment To Countries That Border Russia.
Tom Brady, Commish Airing Out Differences This Morning.
--Supreme Court Supports Raison Farmers Saying Big Government Cannot Take Personal Property Without Just Payment; Case Refers Back To New London Case Where Government Unfairly Forced Home Owners To Property To Developers.
--Thousands Fight Fires Blazing In Reno.
--70 Million In US supposedly teeter On Financial Ruin.
--SC Gov. Nicki Haley Softening Stance On Rebel Flag.

We have a crisis looming, and a Tids reader wants the readership of this August column to be the hub of a full blown national activist campaign. It’s bigger than air in footballs, Michelle’s sleeveless dresses, Donald Trump’s Hair. The 50th Super Bowl is upon us and it appears we only have “L” to show for it. That’s an L-uva situation for America’s new favorite pastime. “L” for Lousy, Loony, Ludicrous, Lazy, Larcenous, Lachrymose, lethargic. And what a come-down after last year’s XLIX. Let’s all rally for XXXXX, Xotic, Xtraordinary, Xciting, Xuberant, Xemplary. Let’s get on the Tids Xpress and Stamp out L now.

This Tids may never reach you as it appears that Yahoo mail is down and out for the count. The mail system there has had several outages this past week, but this one is well over an hour and a half, and ticking. That is unusual for an Internet service where corrections generally come quickly. There are rumors that the Hill campaign is trying to slow the Tids.

My manufacturing friends tell me that the US manufacturing should be strong for a while. It has a good boost recently from the revival of the Auto industry, but what will drive it for the future is the big engine redo in the aerospace industries. The business is solid and quite stable now, but nowhere nearly as large as it was when the those good paying jobs were driving the strong USA middle class.

Pizza shops are not an economy. Pizza shops are the result of a fundamental economy.

I just believe in trying to keep everything as simple as possible. And being nice to just about everybody.

The great thing about my brother-in-law visiting is that I get new soap in my shower.

The Answer:
Of course everybody knows that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. The Repubs should unite behind one electable candidate and leave the others behind and of course the Bush at two!

This was the shortest Tids in history. But think about how much more you can get done today if you don’t have stop too long with this.

See you tomorrow with a full-bodied, robust Tids! Yum.
