Pedestals are a bust.

Today's Tids Issue 3,687
For the Everyman:

A lot of the things that work well require the patience of one human for another. And there is a lot more of that which goes on then you would imagine if you only knew what heard or saw in the news or from the lips of politicians and activists.

If I never see another celebrity interview again, it will be too soon.

Too many people forget that the earth needs rain to survive. Especially tourism bureaus.

I see where the Feds are issuing regs to guide the introduction of driverless cars to highways and city streets; guidelines to make sure that these cars are compatible with broad as well as specific local laws. One of them says that they encourage sharing data on crashes. Crashes! Get me off the roads.

The Question:
Who are these people? Charlie Weber, Moon Bloodgood, Deborah Roberts, Debbie Morgan, Kristin Johnson and Tony Denison.

NYC’s leftie Mayor DeBlasio probably was hoping the Bomber was a white guy from Nebraska named Bubba Joe Townsend. He is still the only Government official having a lot of trouble calling it terrorism. He so wants to be the darling of the liberal cocktail circuit that he finds it impossible to acknowledge some truths, which in NYC makes it practically impossible to lead. He’s probably looking for an invitation to the Emmy Red Carpet.

I think that the Congressional hearings today (started at 10:00am) could be some of the most exciting, confrontational of all of those that didn’t include Hillary. It pits the CEO of Wells-Fargo, John Stumpf against the committee which just happens to feature anti big biz pit bulls Elizabeth Warren and Sherard Brown Personally, I think W-F management should be jailed. The 5,300 they fired may have done the dirty deeds, but the top people created the culture. One super executive named Carrie Tolstedt who was in charge of all retail ops and who was considered honest and annoyingly hard working, obsessed with detail, walked away with $20 Million in bonuses, almost all due to the illegal activities of the identified 5,300 plus culprits. She seemed missed seeing the big picture through the fog of the details. If it’s one or two bad guys, it could be bad apples in a big basket. But, when it’s 5.3K, it’s got to have something to do with what management is doing at the top. These kind of situations can create a negative image for all of the business people who are incredibly honest, which will be used by those with an anti biz agenda.

BTW, Carrie Tolstedt a rather simple woman with sensible tastes from a small Nebraska town and now 54 years old has put in for retirement. It is expected she will walk away with a $124 Million package. I think I chose the wrong profession.

Speaking of big biz gurus, GEs’ mighty Jack Welch says confidently that the US will be in better shape economically with Trump on top.

The Voice opened last night and I hope the banter improves. Over all it seems the universe of Voice lovers thought the new cast was outstanding, even as I had a small apoplectic fit. I thought it started badly, but settled in ok. Miley is quite the serious musician, far more than Tongue and Twerk. Alycia Keyes is very relaxed in her skin and has a good sense of talent and harmony – at times. Of the singers, I liked the bearded guy Sundance Head and Ali Caldwell with “Dangerous Woman”. I’d rank the Sinatra impersonator (Didn’t we just have one on AGT?) Riley Elmore on the bottom. Wait a minute on that, at least he was listenable as opposed to screecher Courtney Ramirez Maybe I’ve been watching far too many music talent shows, but I’m having problems distinguishing differences between many of the singers. Of the rest, I liked Gabe Broussard, a kind of an engaging Teen with an enjoyable presence and voice. Dark horse? A lot of people like Dave Moisan and Dana Harper. We’re off!

Now it is guessing time at DWTS – which pair will be first to go. First, the best of last night seems to be Laurie Hernandez and Val. The biggest surprise was Ken “Baby Face” Edmonds and Allison and their great adaptation of X-Files. So who was worst? I don’t know if it is Dems or Dancin’, but the odds on favorite to leave is Rick Perry. But don’t tell that to Repub voters …or Jake haters. Also low under the limbo pole are Amber and Ryan.

If people spent more time honoring parents and caretakers instead of idolizing rock stars, movie stars, athletic stars, politicians business execs, drug dealers and other assorted idols real and conjured, the country would be a better place and there would be at least a chance for unity.

The Parking Lot: Chapter 71 continues…
Nancy drove about two miles out of the city to a rural area. She always felt more relaxed out here, especially now as she tucked her car into a small grassy area by a stone wall. A gray shingled mid 19th century farm house stood comfortably nearby as it has for a century and a half, always looking out to the ocean in the distance.
She pulled out her phone and redialed Alex’s number.
He answered within a nano-second, “Hello,” Nancy?”
“Yes,” she answered carefully, sounding vague to Alex
Picking up on her mood, “Hey, Nancy I can understand your reluctance, but this is important. Let’s put it this way, I am really worried about the death of My friend Dave McGuire.”
Nancy just nodded into the phone.
“I was his friend, and I know what was going on. A lot of people do. And you’d be surprised at who all of these people are. They are more afraid than I.”
Nancy had gotten out of her car, and was walking back and forth, listening intently, thinking; occasionally glancing down the coast past Sachuest point. “Where are you?”
Finally, Alex thought, words. Lawyers were great at talking into thin air, but occasionally an answer was comforting. “I don’t tell people where I am these days.”
Nancy felt the same. Maybe they were fighting the same unknowns. But, she was thinking that Alex knew more about who they might be than she. “Maybe we should meet.”
    “Ok.”
“There’s an old fishing she behind that new club they built at Sakonnet Point. It’s grey, with a lot of nets beside it.’
    “Grey! how unique.”
Nancy laughed and relaxed for the first time.

The Answer:
Ok, where we go. --Charlie Weber is Frank Delfino In “How to get away with murder.” --Moon Bloodgood is another actor I don’t know but you may as he starred in Terminator Salvation and as Anne Glass in the TV series Falling Skies. She started her career as aTop 100 Model. –If you like All My children the you remember Debbie Morganas Angie Baxter Hubbard. She was the first A-A to win a Daytime Emmy. –Even I know Kristin Johnson and I laughed out loud in her performance in 3rd Rock form the Sun. –Tony Denison is one of those great character actors you may have enjoyed over the years. Most recently he was Detective Andrew Flynn on the Closer. He was also Crime Boss Ray Luca on Crime Story and Joey Buttafuoco in the Amy Fisher Story. I hope you find these “Who are these people?” Q’s: interesting. I see these names and have no idea who they are, so I may be as surprised as you at the answers. Or maybe I should read more credits.

I think I’ll go out and walk around tipping my hat to people passing by. Almost people are pretty good folks, even intruding tourists, regardless of political affiliation. I hope I don’t get arrested.
