A black hole for ideas?
April
is the kind of month where in one single day you can experience
the four seasons. “A” is for alert.
Frankly,
before the big expose on college payoffs I had no idea who Laurie McLaughlin
was. Oh, it’s Laughlin? I guess I still don’t. Entertainment gossip information
is not a Tids strength.
Come
to think of it though, a lot of what is purported to be news these
days is basically political gossip.
I
watched a Bernie interview yesterday and I would say that the
kindly old socialist is in reality one nasty, vengeful curmudgeon. Hey, wait,
curmudgeon is much too much of a lovable characterization, And Bernie ain’t
lovable.
Which
letter is silent in the word scent? That, in essence is
what politics is all about.

Who was Stewart Sutcliffe?

In
a new big poll, 72% of Americans said “the media offer
too much analysis on breaking news before the facts are confirmed.” The same
percentage also says events lose importance after being beaten to death with
analysis. The study is about the news Media in general. Only 12% say CNN is neutral.
51% say Fox is conservative. 63% say ABC and CBS are credible while 61 % say the
same for NBC. Other news outlets where a majority say they are credible are WSJ,
CNN, NYT’s and Fox News. Below the halfway line are Wapo, MSNBC and NPR. The
most left leaning are MSNBC (43) and CNN (46). The study sponsored by The
Hollywood Reporter and Morning Consult involved 2200 respondents.
Does
Keith
Lockhart ever smile?
Scientists
have published a picture of a black hole that has a mass
6.5 billion times that of the sun! Yikes. Fortunately, it is 500 million
trillion KM’s away or else we’d be worrying about something bigger than evolving
climate change. So, you are saying, how can they see it much less take a picture.
Well it measures 40 billion KM’s wide (Bigger than Our Solar system) and the intense
ring of fire produced by superheated gas is brighter than all of the other stars
in the universe combined. I’m, betwixt, bothered and bewildered.
If
you rip a hole in a net, there are actually fewer holes
Have
you ever noticed how often government officials are warning
people about dangerous stuff, where just plain ole’ commons sense is the solution?
Like
many smaller businesses, Friendly’s was a great spot
before it was bought out and managed
I
would tend to appreciate the person who picked pearls over
diamonds.
How
can a hole have mass? I may have to study up on that one.
I’ve
been looking at those new Walmart robots soon to be
rampaging around stores. I don’t think they look cute and lovable. In fact, they
look like they will be clogging up the aisles as you walk around.
Dangerous
underwater mortgage situations are prevalent in Newark,
Detroit, Bridgeport (CT), Baltimore, Hartford, Patterson (NJ), Cleveland,
Fayetteville (NC), Dayton and Montgomery (AL). It’s hard to tell if this is a
sign of a broader problem, but it’s never to early to keep your eyes open.
