One finger in the dyke:
So
much of what used to be sacred has been watered down by
light hearted observations of serious cultural intrinsics, and irrational
procrastination. By the lowering of standards and the enabling of mediocrity. Impeachment
which has always been a safe guard in place to be used in rare occasions, now
is seen as a political tool to accommodate revenge. To devalue the decisions of
the people. Elections in America have to count, or we have lost everything. That
is merely one aspect of society where we have lost the sight of the importance
of solid institutions. Of responsibility for the sanctity of common sense that binds
together strong foundations. Whether in politics or marriage or business or
education. Or in general responsibility to society.
The
meeting tomorrow between Kim and Putin has a lot of ramifications
tied to it, most possibly being negative to the US positions. And perhaps to
the Trump run for the presidency. Kim is
now in that position of the spoiled only child paling parents against each other.
While the superficial media will cover rumors and innuendo in the US election
circus, this is a major world event with possible dangerous repercussions.
Volodymyr
Zelenskiy, a Comedian, wins presidency of Ukraine. Or as Putin
would say, Mykraine. How about that though, a comedian as president. We would believe
we would allow that here. Why are Ukie women so strong? From raising dumbbells!
It is expected that Volody will run the country like a US late night jokester,
only denigrating what he sees, but with no plans for a future. But will they be
laughing when Putin says, “move your borders away from my armies”.
The
Question:
What was Kathy Lee Gifford’s original name and on
what TV show did she first gain her fame.

Rhode
Island has officially become the State of the Union.
Yesterday the union owned RI State Legislature passed a union inspired law which
essentially ties the hands of cities and towns and villages in their efforts to
control their own financial destiny while bargaining in good faith with all
Public Employee Unions including teachers. And why is it again that big value-added
businesses have problems coming to and staying in RI?
If
the Tids were ever to become an information quagmire, it
would become a bog instead of a blog. Merry Christmas everybody! No “L”.
For
the sake of their own security and possible
salvation, most NFL QB’s buy gifts for their protectors – the offensive line. Yesterday,
Seattle’s QB Russell Wilson bought $12,000 worth of Amazon stock for each of his
line man for a total of $156K. That of course is after he signed the richest NFL
contract ever -- $140 million for 4 years.
A
Ukrainian immigrant goes to the DMV to apply for a driver’s
license. First, he has an eye test and the clerk shows him the letters CZWIXNOSTACZ.
“Can you read this?” asks the clerk. ”Read it,” exclaims the Ukrainian, “I know the guy!”.
I’m
not so sure that average people don’t have the right
to detain illegal entrants to the USA. Citizens arrest has been legal since the
early nineteen fifties. “Citizen Arrest: An arrest made by a private citizen who
has witnessed, or has reasonable belief that the detained person has committed
a crime.” Unlawful entry into the United States is a crime.
Last
night The Voice selections revealed no surprises. My two favorites
won but there were no saves left for the Bundy’s when they were ousted by Blake’s
Andrew Sevener. I was surprised by Blake’s Steal of Kendra Checketts. Once
again, last night’s voting showed the strength of middle America and country
music. After last night, Blake has 8 contestants, Legend and Kelly have 6 and Adam
has 4.
The
Answer:
Kathy Lee Johnson was her name when “Name That Tune”
first gave her the fame. Shewas born Kathryn Lee Epstein in France. Her career
really boomed when she partnered with Regis Philbin. Before NFL Hall Of Famer Frank
Gifford, was married to Paul Johnson, a composer of Christian music. While being
raised in a Jewish tradition, she at 12 saw Billy Graham and became a Christian.
There
are no easy ways out if you want to do it right.
