The art of dancing:
Last night I felt like I was sleeping near a cool clear lake high in the unspoiled Adirondacks. It was about 53 degrees, which just seemed to cleanse this old soul of mind, while my aching body rested peacefully. The only thing missing was the aroma of pine trees.
A good orthopedist never stops boning up on techniques.
I heard a pretty good descriptive phrase that describes what is happening on a lot of Campuses: “Censorship Terrorism”. You know, where they only allow speakers who agree with the narrow thinking being taught lately. And here’s another phrase which perhaps explains our current journey towards mediocre journalism – “Customer Base Validation”. That thinking was revealed pretty clearly in a thoughtful letter to the NY Times Editorial Board from Bari Weiss, the centrist editor who had just resigned after being harassed for honesty. The phrase basically says, Don’t mess with my misguided theories with truth, because our subscriber base prefers having their agendas reinforced. Now, the Times has always been more left than right, but in the past they permitted honest discussions. (BTW, This CBV concept is valid for all ideologies. The fragile world of news publishing is definitely forcing media into niches, and in the process, objectivism is lost.)
Did you know that 90% of America lives within 10 miles of a Walmart? Sounds like a pretty good merchandising strategy to me. Except when you consider that 99% of America lives within 10 seconds of Amazon.
It is no secret that the left side of the Democrat party is increasingly in charge of our cities. And what do we see, more bike paths. Yes, the left loves bike paths. But what does a bike path do for those low-income neighborhoods with failing schools? Absolutely nothing. They produce heartwarming headlines and huzzahs from environmentalists, while the struggling people they pretend to care for decay. Big city management these days is a real a crime.
The Question:
Who created and starred in that popular Irish dance revue “Riverdance”?

AMC Theaters thought it was being cool when upon announcing a reopening it issued an unmasking policy catering to the anti-mask slice of society. Wrong! They quickly learned they alienated most of the potential customer base for movies. Being trendy in the face of a killer disease is pure lunacy.
That’s a laugh – Trump replacing a campaign manager because his ratings are low. Maybe the new campaign manager will have the guts to give him a mirror.
I could easily agree that Twitter is what is wrong with America. Cowards spew venom in anonymity. And the unthinking follow.
So, here I was watching our Governor of my state, that has always made it tough for businesses to operate, saying how they as the great white knight are coming to the rescue of businesses which they essentially sidelined when they imposed the original lockdown without thinking, it appeared, of how it would affect the economy. That means that the upshot of this is that businesses are now beholden to a government that started the problem in the first place. Is that about it?
If you are an advocate who’s going to espouse solid conservative ideas that are credible, you have to make sense. Peter Navarro isn’t one of them,
Of course, politicians have always been about creating problems that only tax payer money at their disposal can fix. BTW, our Governor Gina is the Chairperson of the USA Democrat Governors Association.
Another simplistic public servant, Mayor Elorza of Providence RI, yesterday rolled out a love-in, thoughtfulness and understanding scheme which was a loose cover for reparations. This mayor who just saw his school system taken over by the state. A system which became nationally known as abhorrent. An educational mess that decayed though lack of attention from at least his administration. A few hundred bucks in so-called reparations is meaningless. But an education is the proven route towards true freedom. If he is talking about thoughtfulness and understanding, maybe he should be sitting down with his own inner city.
Sorry for being so irate today. But you hear so much nonsense in an election year. It’s harder to laugh.
Oldies but Punnies, Department:
--A friend said she didn’t understand cloning. I said, “That makes two of us.”
--The grape didn’t cry when stepped on, but it did let out a little whine.
--When notes get into treble, bass-ically they get put behind bars. The alto-nate punishment is to push them off a clef and hope they land flat on sharp objects. (I felt no crescendo from that one)
The Answer:
Michael Flatly was the dance magician who had people smiling to Irish music.
If only politicians could dance like this:
I thought it was happy.
