Today's Tids Issue 4,687
Just say no:
How do you fulfill the hearts of the young when everything today seems to be so fleeting?
One of the reasons that US stocks are doing better than you would think considering the downturn in revenue due to a locked down economy is that 40% of all US company’s income comes from sales abroad! And Analysts are thinking that foreign countries are doing a better job of controlling the Big CV.
Did you hear about the creature who likes to ring door bells? He was a knock less monster.
Nothing seems logical any more, for there is always an ability to find a reason to get around it.
I’m with George Washington who said, America will be better off without political parties. They strangle free thinking. And you thought GW only cut down cherry trees.
Trump continues to stumble in the RCP averages. Most bothersome, he has dipped further behind in North Carolina, a decent Repub state where he was up less than a month ago. Taking away the conventions probably didn’t help. The oddsmakers in LV still have him sliding with odds favoring Joe 56.3 to 38. A little over a month ago, LV had DT up 51-45. At least, for now, a Repub Senate is still hanging in there, by its fingernails. That’s the scariest part of it all. Everything democratic in this unbalanced environment could be a complete disaster for the USA. Especially with people getting used to Covid freebees from Uncle Sam, and Dem officials having getting used to not being fettered by a budget. Yes, lovable old Uncle Sam in his red, white and blue outfit. How long before somebody bans uncle Sam?
The Question:
Who were George Atzerodt, Lewis Powell (Aka Paine), Mary Surratt and David Harold?

--A hungry lion was roaming through the jungle, when he came upon two men – one sitting under tree reading a book, and the other pounding away on his typewriter. He immediately pounced on and devoured the man reading. Any lion knows that reader’s digest and writer’s cramp.
Boo! Hiss!
Criminal robocallers only steal your money. Political robocallers steal your soul. Did you know that the holdup on the barring of Robocallers to cell phones was solely the efforts of political pollsters and campaign managers?
I’m happy to see that Massachusetts has finally opened up their State again. Maybe we’ll have fewer tourists down here.
It’s always harder to write this morning mess in the summer. But this year nothing seems to be appending, even as the media constantly reminds us everything is happening. By pounding away at those same old things about virus and pretests. How many different ways can I say, “Our country will become a better place when everyone realizes there are only two kinds of people in it – Good people and Bad people.” Or, “Are we the only people dumb enough to start another civil war because we are offended by the first one.”
Broken puppets for sale. No strings attached.
Whoops! Fox news had to apologize for cropping out Melania and Donald T in their published photo of Epstein and Maxwell.
They said it was a mistake. I hate when the “mistake” word is used. Nobody does anything on purpose anymore? It’s always a mistake.
I don’t think George Washington said I made a mistake when he cut down the cherry tree. He said, Dad, I did it on purpose. I hated that tree,”
I’m sorry the great fiddler Charlie Daniels died. But I have to tell you, I got tired of listening to “Devil went down to Georgia.”
By the way, yesterday when I wrote about that gun violence in major cities over the 4th, I didn’t have the exact totals. 160 were killed and over 500 wounded during our USA weekend. That’s in three days when we are pleasantly remembering the goodness from which America was wrought. All the protest and movements we are enduring aren’t doing anything to fix that.
The Answer:
Surratt, Harold, Powell and Atzerodt as associates of John Wilkes Booth were hanged for contributing to the Murder of Abe.
How many times have I written that with freedom come responsibility?
I’m happier than I sound.
