Where’s the passion?

Today's Tids Issue 4,713

Ya gotta have heart:

This presidential campaign has become so predictable. There is no news to print. That’s what happens when you get too much of everything.

I don’t need music that imitates life. I like music that takes me to another place.

There is so much money around (Tell that to someone looking for work) that loser stocks are being bought regularly. Normally when there is a lot of profit taking the market goes down, But lately when somebody dumps a winner, there are many more willing to pick it up.

A hole has been found in the nudist camp wall. The police are looking into it.

The Question:

Who was the founder of modern-day nursing? Bonus: What is the nickname of Swedish opera singer Jenny Lind?

The Headlines:

--Stock Futures Seem To Be Predicting A Flat Market, At Least At Opening.

-- Trump Makes Small Gains In RCP Averages; Prez Regains Tie In North Carolina.

--Appeals Court Seems Wary Of Dismissing Flynn’s Case.

--Fed Agents Move Into Bend Oregon After Large Protest Crowd Blocks ICE Bus.

--Former Global Leader In Combatting Covid, New Zealand, Now Facing Fresh Outbreak

Today’s big coffee chains seem to rely on products that we used to get at the local soda fountain.

The Stock Market needs a pause.

I believe, if we are paying attention to current history, that when you think you have Covid under control you can’t relax or it will be back in a nanosecond.

It is expected that any criticism of Kamala Harris will be considered by the press as racist or sexist. If they don’t think of that themselves, somebody will call their attention to it.

The last time we entered a period of rampant stock splitting were the days just before the DotCom disaster. I wonder.

When you see headlines this morning: “Biden/ Kamala Bash Trump”, then you know there is nothing left to read.

Did you hear about the butcher who gave up his profession to become a comedian? He didn’t make the cut.

Passion is a wonderful thing. It’s the drive. It’s the urgency. It is fighting for beliefs. It is giving. Never take things for granted.

The Answer:

Florence Nightingale was the founder of modern-day nursing. Bonus: Jenny Lind was the Swedish Nightingale. So there you go.

Everybody should have a passion for something. It’s just good for the soul.
