Today's Tids Issue 4,710
Never Forget:
I’m starting to hear rumbles from people across the human spectrum worrying about a Covid squelched Autumn. Why ruin a good today worrying about something three months from now that may never happen, and that you can’t control anyhow? I have never quite understood that reasoning.
Regardless of Weather forecasters liking to predict heat waves, it appears to this person living in the very same world that summer is winding down. I start dreaming about green returning to lawns and Fall blossoms replacing those hardy summer flowers which have been brightening our days, struggling mightily for us under the hot sun. I like the idea of Autumn within sight. Autumn kind of tends to make the heart leap a bit.
My butcher asked me if I wanted my meat measured in pounds or kilograms. I said either weigh would do.
The press certainly made the world aware that Prez Trump was signing his Exec Order for stimulus continuation at his “Private Country Club”, and that it was probably only because he was losing the election. (That’s the main reason why most politicians do things, to get reelected.) Before this era of intense journalistic bias, a headline would more likely have read, “President signs order to help out of work and struggling American live during hard times when Congress failed to act. Read “Normal times to the Press” -- when Obama was Prez. But it seems unlikely to me that this president can authorize payments without congress. I think it is a bad precedent from this old guy who still has faith in three branches. regardless of Nancy.
I got arrested at the Farmers Market for disturbing the peas.
Dan Crenshaw for President.
Covid Guilt: We had a longstanding date to visit my niece and favorite Bro-in-law at her home in Chatham, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Actually, it was a pretty important visit for fun and reunion. Three days before our date, the Governor of Massachusetts surprised the region by banning Rhode Islanders from coming over the border… effective the day we were leaving! We spent hours creating rational reasons and excuses for breaking the law. Today’s government is creating more guilt than the Catholic Church. Now I know how an illegal immigrant feels.
The seagulls seem happy again. The tourists are back and so are all of those food scraps tossed by curbside.
One of the great little thrills of life is nursing a dying plant back to robust life.
The Question:
Which actors and actresses have one the most Emmy’s for best Actor?

I guess when I use the word “Actress”, I’m exposing my dinosaur traits. Maybe I should use Actorelle?
In case anybody is interested, the New England Patriots will miss Dante Scarnecchia more than Tom Brady. Brady missed Dante a lot the first time the great O-Line Coach retired.
Sometimes I just go too long without playing a good Robert Schuman Symphony. He needs a new P/R Agency.
The Lottery you don’t want to win, Department:
A giant company gets hacked revealing important personal and digital data for 100 Million users, and somewhere in the darkness an amoral creep picks your name to scam!
Maybe we should have hired a lawyer to help us sneak under the Massachusetts border. But, a thousand dollars for lunch seems a little steep to me.
“Tiz the Law” may be maturing into one of the all-time great racehorses, but how will he be ranked in this year of the Covid, winning a Triple Crown inside-out, with a shortened Belmont.
In case you are interested, “Word Grammar” doesn’t like my use of the word, “Actually”.
That all happened after Microsoft updated last Thursday -- “Update” the most dreaded word for contented souls in a modern society. Did you guys write Microsoft suggesting that this guy needs help with grammar?
Restaurants look quite festive with their outdoor seating on city streets. I’m sure it isn’t enough activity, though, to make restaurants profitable, but maybe it helps paying the proverbial light bills until inside seating returns What really worries me is what happens when it gets cold again. How many hard working, creative entrepreneurs will have to put the padlock on the door. It makes me sad. Really.
Punishment is often the result of a bad play on words.
“Word” has a recovery system because Microsoft is always turning off your computer and losing things during updates. It’s like a politician causing all the problems and then riding in to rescue the poor beleaguered citizens.
The latest RCP (Real Clear Politics) averages show a small gain by Trump after a couple of months of seriously falling numbers. His edge in Georgia has increased, but he continues to stagnate in the other swing states. The bookies have narrowed Biden’s lead a bit and the average differences in average poll numbers overall have narrowed slightly. Surprisingly, Trumps Favorability rating has climbed. But both Biden and Trump are extremely low. For congress, the Dems are solid with the House, but there are appearing to be more tossups in Senate races.

The Newport Bridge regaled its giant American flag high up in the sky this morning. RI is the only state that officially celebrates the all-important VJ day. Lets’ hear it for Little Old Rhode Island. the state that remembers. So far, the loonies haven’t sprayed painted the flag ,but they would like to the change the name of the day to “Happy Beach Day” Ask the soldiers at Omaha Beach, the Marines at Guadalcanal about happy beach days. Remember the horror that would be seen in a young soldier’s eyes as he waded ashore against a fierce entrenched enemy, to find bloody sands on Pacific Island beaches. Never forget. Amen.
