Segmentation Intervention.

Today's Tids Issue 5,078

Basically, we like each other:

We just have to save ourselves from this mentality that is propagating identity groups. We are all just a bunch of humans with varying degrees of different personalities and traits. But basically, we are all the same with the same human frailties, innate feelings of love, and inherent determination to survive, despite ascribed differences by the social and commercial agenda driven marauders.

Do you think the world will soon be divided between vegetarian/vegans and everybody else who aren’t exclusionary vegetarians? Maybe even a world dominated by vegetarians as intra-gastronome discipline marriages fail or are never bound in the first place. Talk about prejudice against missed races, how about the prejudice against mixed gourmands at an all vegetarian only restaurant. No tank tops, no Shoes and liking meat: And you don’t Eat.

Some people forget that another birthday is not about getting older, but about a celebration of all of the good experiences, accomplishments and love of all the years before. And the fact that a mere birthday has never prohibited you from continuing what you had been doing in the year ahead.

The often-overlooked Beethoven 8th Symphony is pretty darn powerful.

The Question:

Here is a question that will produce arguments. 13,700+ voters were asked: “What are Beatles best songs?” Bonus: On this day in 1999 one of the greatest TV series in history made its debut on HBO. What was it.

Well, the NFL Playoffs are finally set. And, what a great season ending it was, with a last second of overtime Victory for the Raiders that opened a spot for Pittsburg and sent the LA Chargers on vacation, and moved the Pats down a notch in the AFC seedings. Here are the first playoff weekend matchups, at last! Saturday: Las Vegas at Cincinnati, New England at Buffalo; Sunday: Philadelphia at Tampa Bay, San Francisco at Dallas; Monday: Pittsburgh at Kansas City. Green Bay and Tennessee as number one seeds the NFC and AFC conferences have Byes.

And tonight, we have the SEC championship all over again disguised as the NCAA National Football Championship Game! Bama manhandled the Georgia a Bulldogs in SEC Championship #1. But Georgia looked awesome squashing Michigan. I think I will stick with the Tide.

“I am proud that EP is joining 37 other communities in RI and thousands of municipalities throughout the nation to remove this barrier to library usage”. That was from the Mayor of East Providence who was literally giddy over discontinuing charging fines for late books. Has anybody ever not used a library because of the threat of a twenty-five-cent fine? Another step towards lowering the moral standards the USA. Another step towards condoning irresponsibility. We have lost our collective minds.

One of the great historical moments that always gives me a bit of chill is my vision of Beethoven standing in the back of a symphony hall receiving overwhelming applause from the audience after the premiere of his 9th Symphony. And the fact that he never heard his masterpiece because he was deaf.

As you may have seen written here over the years, I believe all humans are more the same than different, even though we seem to be in an era of isolating the differences. It must be all about big money, because it certainly doesn’t make sense when you think about what you feel in your heart.

Have you ever walked into an ice cream parlor filled with every conceivable race, ethnicity, age, gender and the identity classification of the moment, and not seen everybody there with enormous smile on their face?

I personally never noticed anything else about Sidney Poitier other than I felt satisfied after seeing is movies. Did I notice he was black? Of course. But I ever felt part of a civil rights movement. How come in this new overly complex world we are forced to look at the accomplishments of good and talented people through the eyes of activists. Poitier mainly wanted to be recognized for his acting ability and achievements. And he was, then. For sure.

When I feel the urge to rise up and charge into my day, I feel it more when listening to the Pilgrims Chorus from Tannhauser.

Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some hire PR execs.

The Answer:

The number song was Eleanor Rigby. That was followed by Yesterday, A Day in the Life, Let it Be, In My Life, Here Comes the Sun, Strawberry Fields Forever, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Something and at #10, Help. Going on we have Penny Lane, Blackbird, Come Together, All You need is Love, With a little Help From My Friends, Ticket to Ride, A Hard Day’s Night, We Can Work it Out, Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds and at #20, Hey Jude. There were 150 songs listed and I have to say I recognized just about every one of them. The #150 song was, “Everybody’s got something to hide except me and my monkey”. Bonus: I‘m sure you all got this with HBO as a clue. It was The Sopranos which lasted through 86 episodes.

Most people of all everything’s just want a simple life where they can strive ad love ad be satisfied:

“All I want is for people to be as excited to see me as they are when finding a curly fry amongst their regular ones.”
